Destito Tree Service is a very organized professional company with customer service at the forefront. They were right on time (maybe even a little early) for the appointment to look at the job and to do the job. Everyone from Shawn, who came out to quote the job to the crew members was professional in every way. I will admit, they were not my lowest quote for this job, but I am sure I made the right decision. Low bid is not always the correct choice. They took down about 30 trees for me, give or take. Excellent communication with Shawn the estimator , the office and the crew who showed up on time everyday. We had over 40 trees cut and stumped over 3.5 days between 2 properties. So they say when you have good service you tell 5 friends and when you have bad service you tell everyone ... well I'm telling everyone. I wasn't going to, I thought it was just my sleep adled brain making it seem worse than it was ... then I saw my windshield littered with the remnants of their proposal, when my trash can is a few feet away. Someone didn't miss ... I got a quote from Destito Tree Service for cutting down some trees mid July. Set for an arbitrary date that would confirm about a month out. They were highly recommended by my bestie mom friend and I value her opinion, so I decided to use them. The gentleman was a bit condescending (you know the "silly female, with a pat on the head") but maybe that was just me. They weren't the cheapest or the most expensive. Smack dab in the middle. I called at the end of July to cancel (July 31st at 10:04pm, yes I could've called during business hours but I had made up my mind and didn't want another thing added to my long todo list). I needed a firm date. I needed it done sooner. And anyone who's been to my yard knows I need a lot more work done than just trees. I had found a company that night, that does EVERYTHING I needed and gave a reasonable quote for all the work and services I needed for my yard, fence, pool, and home. Fast forward to yesterday, Destito Tree Service arrives in the morning and woke me up. I told them I had cancelled a while back and elected a different company. While the guy was he was a bit rude, but that could have been just my interpretation since I just woke up. Are you seeing all the excuses I gave them? Well I go take my toddler to camp and see this mess on my car. WTF?!! He tore up the proposal and left it on my car. No I seriously can't make this up. AND He admits to it, it's over on the community page along with some childish remarks made to other people that was very much not necessary. I started my working career in fast food and learned humility. That lesson apparently was lost on some folks, or they were privileged enough to not need it ‍. Well on my journey to drop my toddler off at camp, the elder Destito stopped by and threatened me/my property to my electrician. So needless to say the police were called and they came by to take a statement. The police went to the Destito Tree Service office and spoke to them about consequences and the next steps. Destito DID MAN UP and admitted to their wrong doing and assured us it would all stop. I have no doubt that Destito Tree Service does amazing work. They were highly recommended by my bestie mom friend and several others in the community. Even on my review, on the community page people chimed in with comments about the amazing work Destito has done for them. Use them or not at your discretion, I just thought I should share my experience and save some people the hassle. Completely satisfied with the work destito did. They were professional and reasonably priced. The crew made sure not to damage the lawn in the process of taking the trees out, even dropped the branches in a controlled fashion via ropes, etc. Two good sized oak trees were gone in about 3 hours. Would hire these guys again and recommend them. If I had to say one negative, these guys were so busy that it took them about 3 months to get to the job, but I guess others know how good they are too. Was worth the wait, thank you! read more

I met with a representative in late March to evaluate two trees needing work. They were prompt to set up an appointment and provide a cost. They did say they were "busy", scheduling out about 8-10 weeks. After committing to their services in late April, I never heard from them again. No calls, no emails...not even a text message to let me know they still had me on the books. I phoned them in July and was told they were still really busy and it might be another 3 weeks. Again, radio silence until today, when they phoned to say they would be out tomorrow. Thanks, but no thanks! While I can appreciate the nature of balancing scheduled work and emergency work, it is unacceptable to make zero effort to keep your customers in the loop on their contracted work. FOUR MONTHS with no contact is NOT going to win points or referrals. I had such high hopes after seeing the work they did for a neighbor, but it was all dashed with a lack of contact and a dismissive approach to customer service and contact. read more

Telling everyone about the best firewood price around (was $300/cord special when I ordered)... Also had called 4 other places for firewood prices/availability to deliver.... I had a wonderful experience with these guys. From start to finish, Destito tree services has given superb service. I received an estimate from Nick within mins. He was reasonably priced and didn't try to take advantage (as I experienced with other tree service companies). He promised to come to my house two days later to do the work and showed up not only on time but 30 minutes early. My house is in the worst spot (on an easement shared with 3 other homes) and they managed to fit their massive truck and cranes with no incidence. All the guys (nick, father, brother, cousin) were extremely professional and allowed me to interrupt them with my constant nerve-driven inquiries. Even their front desks coordinators (Lauren and Casey), were super responsive, polite, patient and supplied me with all the information I needed in a timely manner. It's odd to see negative reviews from people that have not used their service. News flash to these folks: its going to be a temporary inconvenience to remove fallen trees from properties. Learn to be kind and understand the nature of this business. Nonetheless, I highly recommend this company! Call them and you will not be disappointed. I am a very satisfied customer! read more

I highly recommend Destito Tree Services. I had 3 quotes to remove trees from my front yard. Destito's quote was competitive. Nick, who gave me the quote, was professional and answered all my questions. On the day of the work, Dave came by with a crew of 3 people. They cut down the trees and dispose of the branches (via wood chipper). The next day a truck came by and removed the tree trunks. A few days later Dave came by to grind the stumps. They had the most competitive quote and came and took down four pines and a good-sized maple (which had sustained winter storm damage). I was at work that day - I returned to find my yard spotless. Called for tree removal after the windstorm when branches fell and the trees were swaying. Quick response time, and they came when expected. Hard to get them back to remove stumps once spring came though. read more

I inquired about a cord of wood and was told they had seasoned firewood and they would be able to deliver the wood when the tree services slowed down, which I understood. A few weeks later they had the time to deliver the wood. When it was delivered it was dumped in my driveway as multiple other companies had done. As the wood thawed out I began to work through the pile and was coming across more and more debris, including trash. After a few hours of working through the debris I realized I received more debris then "seasoned firewood". I called and was told someone would come look at the delivery. The employee acknowledged there was a significant amount of debris that was not appropriate to burn in an indoor fireplace. He offered to deliver more wood but after 6 wheel barrels of debris to the woods behind my home I declined. I asked for a refund of 1/2 the cost of the cord which I was laughed at. I asked if they would come clean up the remaining pile, about an additional 6 wheel barrels of debris. I was again laughed at and told that wasn't a possibility. I settled with a $50 refund which was better than nothing. I've had multiple deliveries of wood and never have I ever received such trash. I would never recommend anyone order "seasoned firewood" from this company. read more

Do not use this company. They were doing some work next door to us and approached my husband asking if we wanted a particular tree taken down. My husband told them he had to check with me first. When I got home that evening, I told him not to take the tree down. So he called them at 8:30 in the morning and they were in the process of removing the tree! We would not pay for it and so they dumped 4 giant logs at the end of our driveway, blocking it so we couldn't get in. They will not remove the logs so we had them removed. Vey unscrupulous company. Beware. Do not use them for anything. Ignorant!! read more
