I has a team from Charron Tree Service at my house today for some tree removal and some cleanup of downed trees. These guys were amazing! They showed up with all equipment they needed and a group of five that knew how to use them. Job included dropping 6 trees, cleaning up three downed trees and then grinding of stumps. They had everything done, including the yard cleanup in 6 hours. The ream was very personable and professional. Had a large tree fall on my roof during the December 2023 storm. Charron came out later that day to do the estimate and within a couple of days scheduled the tree removal for a day or two later. 12/1/20 - Had Charron out again today to clean up a couple of trees that landed in the driveway after Monday's storm. They responded right away (6:30AM in the dark to assess, and 10:30AM to work). I realized that I should update the original review with final pics of our front yard after the original 30+ trees came down. They did not do the landscaping, but the added 10,000 sq. ft. of lawn happened only after the work Charron did. How awesome is that stone wall? That would not be visible if they didn't work with us and power through the last stand of dead trees and underbrush to open it up. Eric was actually excited to see it today when he came back. Can't say enough about Luke, Kevin, Eric, and all the guys that worked on our property, and Jillian at the office for scheduling and information. read more

Hi folks. Honestly, I am more likely to write internet comments on a company I am unhappy with, but not for someone that has done great work. This is an exception. I had Charron Tree come down and quote me on removing 9 dead trees that are leaning towards my home. This was after one fell in the backyard in the middle of the night. The quote was not inexpensive and to be honest I almost cancelled a couple of times but I didn't. It was the right / safe thing to do. I was scheduled for Sept 20 but on the 19 they called and asked if they could come over that afternoon as the crane was freed up early. You see they were going to remove all 9 trees that went from the front to back of one side of my property. They told me they planned on getting to them all from one location of the crane. You had to see their process. They had the chipper in the street. Think gigantic chipper. The crane operator would hoist a saw man up the tree where he would connect the tree to the hoist of the crane. He would then lower the saw man down to the ground where he would cut the connected tree off. Then the crane operator with surgical precision would lift the whole tree over the others to the street laying it tenderly down perfectly in front of the chipper. The guys operating the chipper would then use a small hook attached to the chipper to draw the tree into the chipper jaws where it would chip the entire tree. Totally impressive. The team was a very extraordinary, well oiled machine. When the job was completed they kept their promise to leave my yard like they were never there. Just as impressive was that they didn't finish on the 19th and had to come back on the 20th. I would never have expected them to do a good clean up the afternoon of the 19th as they were returning the next day. They left my yard practically spotless on the 19th also. It wasn't inexpensive but it was worth every dollar. With all of this said. I would definitely use them again and whole heartedly recommend them to do your property. read more

Charron Tree is the BEST!!! They scheduled me on November 27,2019 at 8:00am! They were here at 7:50am ready to work! I had 3 Huge Trees to cut down! We also needed police detail which other companies that gave me an estimate were going to take the chance without them and they would of been shut down! Charron Tree was straight forward and told me what I needed! All 4 guys were very professional, very nice guys and knew what they were doing to get this big job done! They used a 118,000 lb. crane, bobcat with claws, a shredder, and a big truck with a claw to pick up the huge tree trunks! Then came back and ground the stumps all in the same day! Don't bother to get a quote from these guys. Back in September they came out to my property, and gave me a written quote for sixteen trees at $4500. My yard slopes a little, but they said that it wouldn't be a problem, because they had machines that self leveled. They came out the first week of December to start the work, and at that time they informed us that they would have to hire a police detail at $600/day. The work might of taken two days. We live on a back road with not much traffic, so I have no idea why they needed this. Plus my neighbor hired a tree service last year, and they didn't have a cop! I told them that this should of been in the quote, or they should eat it. I have never seen or heard from them again. Totally unprofessional. I had to hire another crew, with the same quote, and they don't require a cop. Now I have to wait until March. read more

Update: 7/8 After a few more phone calls, Kevin calls back. Again with more apologies saying how inexcusable what they have done is. State that he is going on vacation then next week but will get us on schedule when he comes back the following week. Keep in mind he has by this time told us this 4 times and now it's almost becoming a family joke. He also explains that another piece of equipment he needs for the job is broken. (Get ready for the excuse train) I tell him that he should really do something to make this right to which he replies that there's nothing he can do but get to my job as soon as he can. 7/16 I get a call from Kevin....apologizing again saying that he can put us on schedule for Friday but could move somebody. I let him know Tues or Thursday would be much better days but could work with Friday. 7/18 Kevin calls back saying he has other people who have been waiting as long as I have for Tuesday and Thursday and will be there on Friday. at 8. 7/22. BEHOLD...they show up....at 8. Tadaaaa! 2 days short of 4 months. Then...there was the good....and the bad. Their estimate had the removal of 10 tress which was $875 of the budget. $500 for clearing and leveling some yard and 250 for some trimming tree trimming and removing a couple of azaleas by either grinding or pulling out. During the 4 months we had to do some of the work ourselves. We had cut down 4 of 10 trees and trimmed 2 of the trees that were most dangerous. The good: The crew showed up on time with the equipment that they needed...all of which was working. They worked hard in the heat and removed the trees in our front yard and ground out the plants that they were supposed to. They cleared a large area of brush in our back yard with brush mowing and some bobcat work. While we originally thought they would just chip the brush, they wanted to dump it at the back of our property which a neighbor thought there was an issue with. They wanted to charge us an extra $400 to take the brush away but settled for $300. The bad: Sloppy cuts left on the front stumps...Not horrible but you'd think they'd at least leave a flat stump rather than something that looks like it had been attacked by a sharknado. They also left a lot of debris there that was never picked up. Trees at the end of our driveway were a problem. 1 we took down ourselves and left the other to be taken down by them. There rocks around the tree which they claimed couldn't be moved by a bobcat so they left a large portion of the tree. (We later moved the rocks ourselves) Perhaps they had a bobcat that was just a little scared. In the back yard, there were thick vines in the area they cleared that went up to the tree branches that would have been very easy to cut with the bucket truck. They ripped them from the ground and left them dangling. Dangerous for our kids who would want to play Tarzan. They left a lot of the brush on the ground an said they weren't going to clean it up. We paid an extra $300 to have stuff removed but they said the truck was full and left but they'd begrudgingly put it in a pile at the end of the driveway for us to dispose of. They took a bunch of stuff but there's still a mess in the back yard. They wanted to get paid and get out of there. They let us know that a truck was coming to pick up the trees. I told them I would pay them the first $1000 and would pay the rest when they picked up the trees as attendance has not been their strong suit. As we had removed 4 of the trees ourselves we thought that discounting our bill by $175 was fair. (1 was really small, 1 was small/med, 1 was pretty substantial and 1 was really big....so we thought it was reasonable to decrease the payment by 2/10 instead of 4/10.) Their foreman was a bit incensed but was willing to decrease by $125. At this point, I decided to acquiesce. They said the truck would come pick up trees in 1-2 hours. Then they called in and said that someone would be there between 11 and 1 the next day . We suggested since someone was coming the next day with another truck, wouldn't it be great if they took away the rest of the bramble they cut but we were informed that his equipment couldn't pick that up and only large trees could be removed. My other half received a phone call from Kevin asking her to talk to me about decreasing their payment. He wasn't going to make a profit on the removal at $300 and it was outrageous of us to decrease our payment. More Good: At 12:30 the next day, The drive came and was really pleasant and removed the trees. read more

I was given a quote on 11/26/2013. I waited til after their holidays and called and they could not find a copy of the estimate that I was given. I sent them a copy of my estimate and have called several times. My son had highly recommended them but they are just not reliable. Similar experience to Stephen N. Charron came highly recommended and was quick to quote. Out of all the quotes we received, they provided what we thought was the most reasonable price for the work. Multiple attempts were made to schedule the work over a two week period. We were finally able to schedule the work for July 10th (yesterday). At the start of the week, my wife called and left messages again to verify the appointment and ask where they would like the check to be left since we were unsure if we'd be home during the work. Without hearing back, we figured they would still be coming and left the check in an envelope in the front door in plain sight. When my wife returned home from work, no work had been done and the check was still present. Neither of us had received phone calls canceling or rescheduling the appointment. Again, multiple calls prior to their closing time of 5pm were placed with no pickup or response. I attempted to call again this morning (July 11th) to be sent right to voicemail. I can understand being busy and things happening, but to not show up without canceling or calling is extremely unprofessional in my opinion. read more

I have used Charron Tree Service twice. On both occasions they were by far the least expensive (half the cost). The estimator came quickly, and the job was scheduled within two days. Charron Tree Service tackled a HUGE job at our house, removing 25-30 trees and lots of brush leaving the hardwood for firewood and cleaning up the rest. Kevin was very professional, arrived when he said he would and gave us the best estimate out of 4 companies. We hired him, and his team started the job a week later. The job took 2.5 days, with 5-6 guys on the job each day. Kevin himself fell ill and couldn't be there, but his team took over very professionally, completed everything on the quote, worked hard and quickly, cleaning up and opening up our yard beautifully. AWFUL experience! I had an appointment today at 8am. No show, and no communication on status. Just before 9, nearly an hour AFTER they were supposed to be here, we get a call saying that it looks like it might rain, so they won't be responsible for tearing up our lawn if we stick with today's appointment. I get it - nothing anyone can do about weather... but really, they couldn't have warned us of this possibility earlier this morning, or perhaps last night, before we made special arrangements (e.g. took the day off of work)?! When I calmly asked to reschedule, with a discount for the inconvenience, I was immediately met with EXTREMELY RUDE treatment, and the guy even told me that it's not his responsibility to look at the forecast. After reading the reviews for this company, I decided I would give them the benefit of the doubt and attempt to use their services. My husband and I got a VERY reasonable quote from a gentleman at Charron and since none of the negative reviews were about their actual work I called them and waited....they called me back the next day which I took to be a good sign and since I had a few questions for them regarding my quote the woman I spoke to said she would call me back in the next two days tops. Well, that never happened. I called them 2 days later and left a message...nothing. I waited 3 more days and called them back and basically told them they have 24 hours to get back to me or I was taking my business elsewhere. Well, I got a call back right away on that message and I was told they could come and do my trees two days later which I accepted. THEY NEVER SHOWED UP OR CALLED!! I called them twice once on the day they didn't show up and once the next day to tell them not to bother. I have NEVER worked to shard to give someone my business before!! You would think in the economy they would embrace any and all business thrown their way but they just don't seem to care. read more
