We were able to speak with Anna, who was very friendly and straightforward, look at samples, get an approximate quote based on the measurements we brought, and get back home with time to spare on my lunch hour. I was surprised with how simple it all was, and the price seemed reasonable. We called back and scheduled the in home measurement the same day, booked the service, and had it installed about a week later. On the day they did the installation, I had removed the previous sink but couldn't get it outside by myself. Art, the installer, helped me carry it down when he arrived, and was able to install the new counter and sink in less than an hour. Overall, a pretty easy and reasonably priced process. I'll likely go back to them when I replace my half bath and kitchen counters.

I live in a 1 story coach house, a studio really, where space is at a premium. The high-end faucet…read moreon my island in the middle of the space looked cool but wasn't particularly functional. Worse, it rose 14 inches from the counter, directly in the sightline between my bed and the TV projection screen, which are at opposite ends of the space. I found a replacement faucet that, when not in use, telescopes down into the sink cabinet so I would no longer have to peer around the faucet to read the captions on the screen. But it required another hole for the mixer as the original was a one-hole faucet. The countertop is Dekton porcelain manufactured material, designed to survive a nuclear bomb, so I needed someone with the equipment to drill a new hole and not crack the countertop. Clearly a small job, I was worried no one would care about my TV viewing habits enough to offer to do it. Victor was super-fast to respond, was reasonably priced, called me the morning he said he would with a time window, then showed up on time. It took all of 5 minutes and for good measure, he helped me remove the old faucet that I had half-uninstalled but got stuck. He also cleaned up. I had procrastinated for 8 months - this faucet has been sitting boxed under my sofa since December, so it is embarrassing how easy this ended up being. Great crew and great team!

Given how professional they were, the fact that they were more knowledgeable than most of the people we met, and also very efficient and reliable, I believe that this place was the best quartz fabricator for the money. Best value, I should say. They have higher end remnants in the back usually as well such as Caesarstone. What started as a positive experience was ruined after final installation of my backsplash. Granite Selection had sent over their template for the seams prior to cutting and insisted they were necessary behind my sink and I agreed to the alignment they provided. However the installation was completely off on the veining of the quartz behind my sink and did not match what they showed in the template for approval. I have called 10+ times to have them fix this as my kitchen is small and it does not look right. I have only been able to talk to the business owner Paul once and he has constantly ignored me. Beware - they require a check up front and if you have any issues they will ignore you and happily keep your money. I couldn't be more disappointed in their lack of responsibility and care for a paying customer.

Some helpful hints based on our experience: 1. A big countertop dealer like MSI, located in Elk Grove Village, has a very large showroom where you can see the full countertop slabs. We had some preferences based on the web site pictures and the little quartz samples, but ended up selecting a different slab once we were in the showroom. You really want to see the full countertop slabs before your decision is finalized. 2. We were really disappointed with the Home Depot service, which is The Countertop Factory - Midwest. There was an extremely hard sell visit to our house and a take-it-or-leave it price. 3. Many quartz countertop installation services want you to select quartz they already have in stock. Davan let us shop around and we selected an MSI countetop, which MSI already had in stock. Our job therefore proceeded quickly from final slab selection to installation (less than two weeks). 4. I was unnecessarily nervous about our kitchen tile backsplash when our old formica countertops were replaced with new quartz countertops. We wanted to retain the old kitchen backsplash. That was not a problem and the installation occurred smoothly.

After paying this firm a hefty $10k+, we found our custom-made cabinets ruined…read more Note: before the installation, we did have them come over for on-site inspection and measurements. Our designer complained to the principal Gary, and asked for a fix. Gary sounded like this is usual practice for them. Here is a copy paste of his email: "the blocking set in place to secure the sinks ( the size of sink / cabinet size did not allow space for the standard clips) This is all concealed to the underside of the countertops and we have done them in this fashion for the same reasons. They are not visible much like the underside of an "unfinished sink bowl" Is there something else that is preferred?? The blocking we use allows the sinks to be removed if ever needed and if we put the brackets on before setting tops the cabinets would have to be notched and the top removed completely to remove the sink. When you ask to "fix" do you prefer we use smaller blocking?"

The guys who came to do the installation were completely professional, and even made a return trip to do a tiny change we made on the fly at no extra cost.
