Considering that I did not end up having any service done, I had an extremely pleasant experience with Device Dr. I was quoted for the service I requested over the phone, but before even quoting the helpful fellow told me that he thought it would be likely that I would simply want to replace my tablet rather than doing the repair, due to the cost. When my iPhone 14 Pro stopped charging, I called in for assistance. While I received their voice mail with contact instructions, Sean called me back before I could send a follow-up text. He talked about options for me and was confident it was likely a buildup of debris in the port, even though I had tried compressed air to clear it. I brought it in today, Sean took it back to the work center, and came back a few minutes later with my like-new phone. As he suspected, there was a significant amount of buildup in the port, which he was able to clear. Kind of cool that they have monitors, so you can watch them while they're working on your device. Travelling across country, my phone started refusing to take a charge. I saw the Device Dr while looking for a Diary Queen, and decided to stop in. I figgered the phone would need to be cracked open and the socket resoldered, probably a couple hunnerd bucks. I was wrong. The proprietor popped it under a microscope and declared it just had crud crammed in it which he cleaned out, and didn't even charge me. Fantastic experience with Sean and Device Dr. I paid uBreakiFix a $200 diagnostic fee in CA, upon which I was told my iPhone 12 mini would require a new motherboard. Came to Sean at Device Dr, who suspected it was simply a bad screen due to water damage. He opened the device and replaced the screen, and wouldn't you know? The phone works perfectly. He also noted that the screws appeared to still be tightened from the factory, so uBreakiFix didn't even open the phone to do any true diagnostics!!! What a scam! Sean charged only $40 to diagnose the device, plus what was needed for a new screen and labor. Much less than buying a new phone + a $200 diagnostic fee. Kudos go out to Device Dr on Perry St. My daughter left her iPhone 6s in her jeans I guess and my wife washed them. We brought the phone in to see if it could be repaired, but no joy, it was kaput! Instead of just sending us home with a broken phone and $25 checkup they offered us a replacement iPhone 6s 64gb for a great price; frankly a better price than any used on I looked at in Craigslist, and even put a new screen protector on the phone. Concisely, these guys are awesome. Courteous, professional, a little bit quirky (LOL) and most of all determined. Driving back home to Austin I walked-in to The Device Doctor in Castle Hill with my iPhone XII locked up in an emergency mode. Evidently, I interrupted an inadvertent 911 call and I couldn't unlock my screen. What's more, I couldn't shut it down either. Even as a reasonably knowledgeable iPhone user I was simply stumped. As noted, I simply walked-in with the locked-up phone. Evan was intrigued having never seen a similar locked-up phone either. He took it behind the counter, showed it to Evan and the exchanged a few words. Neither were going to be defeated. We passed the phone back and forth a couple of times while they apparently continued to research a solution. Viola! Screen cleared/reset and back in my hands, no charge! To say I was vulnerable and could easily be taken is an understatement. Again, as I opened, these guys are awesome. I will likely never, walk through The Device Doctors doors again but unhesitatingly recommend them both for their knowledge to find the solution but the integrity to treat me fairly. This was my most recent update to which I was told that maybe I just shouldn't use their services.... apparently they keep a five star rating by just getting rid of 'problem customers', ya know, the ones that don't want to get swindled or have their time wasted. *Update 11/26 Another month, another problem. The wife's camera just up and stopped working after being replaced here. They went to replace the camera.... and broke the back glass AGAIN. If you keep doing it, why not have the parts on hand? My S6 has a chip in the fingerprint button. It's come in no contact with anything that could do that to it. In looking at how-to's online, I'm starting to think this is damage from the removal of the glass when they fixed my phone in the first place. I can't prove it so I won't even bother. I'm STILL baffled how this place has a 5 star rating. *update 10/18 A week after I asked again, the screen came in. I finally had time to stop there today.... I got a new screen.... and broken back glass that was broken during replacement of the screen. I'm told it will be here sometime soon, hopefully sooner??? These guys order their parts odd eBay. I will not go here again or refer anyone here again. I can't. *** It's been a month since my wife first brought her phone in. It took theme almost 2 weeks to replace a camara and then the back they broke while replacing the camara took yet another week. I brought my phone in and to my surprise the part came in right away and they replaced my screen as well. When I come to pick it up a week ago I'm told the screen has a dark spot and they will replace. The next day I see the burn in on the USED screen I spent $300 on. Despite the guarantee they'll replace it, I called Friday and was told it would come in the next day, over a week after I brought it in. No phone call, no screen. I'm writing this review through burned in icons on my screen. I'll call again today but I doubt I'll go here again when she place close to my work was going to do it for $10 less. I left my computer here to have the battery replaced. They had put in a faulty battery previously and agreed to replace it free of charge. They also had previously cleaned it up but after they did the camera no longer worked. The manager said he would make good on it and call me. Two days went by without hearing from them so I called to Ask about it. they said it would be done in an hour. I went in an hour later and the person said he had tried to call because the tech working on it had a family emergency. I asked where they were at in the repair and he said they hadn't started. The tech told me the manager took the top off and went on vacation for two weeks. I wanted to know what happened, but the more questions I ask the more defensive and irate the tech became. I really wanted to know how they did business because there are other shops in town to choose from.I was pretty shocked They would treat my computer so irresponsibly and told the tech it was a $5000 computer is response was "not anymore". he said "look ma'am, love the word ma'am, I don't know what else to tell you" and he walked away. The person put in charge for the vacationing manager is the wrong person to represent the business. So I paid them to install a faulty battery and camera that no longer works after taking it there. read more

Paid $120 for an iPhone 6+ screen repair and when I got the phone back the service didn't work. Connects to WiFi but I can't connect to my cellular provider. The screen was also still sticking - it would type letters that I didn't touch and I showed them right then and there and they explained that it could've been the Tempered Glass screen that I had installed and didn't really look into it more than that. I put my case back on the phone after they tried troubleshooting my service issue and when I left they reminded me that my newly replaced screen had a lifetime warranty on it. Great news! I get home and attempt connecting to my Cellular Provider but to no avail. I take off my case to see if this may help get my cell service working and as I'm doing this my brand new screen splinters and cracks. I take it back the next day and they tell me that despite the fact that there's a "Lifetime Warranty" on the screen, and I have my receipt from the day before, that it's going to cost them another $120 to fix the screen, and that they're not sure how to fix the service issue that originated from my initial visit to Device Dr. I understand that this is probably one bad review out of many, but had I known it was going to unfold as it did, I would never have come to Device Dr and paid what I did. I'm now WITHOUT a phone and $140 in the hole because of this visit. I recommend going elsewhere. read more

Such an easy experience from start to finish, with what I consider one of the best prices around for time spent. My dog shattered my IPhone at about 6 pm, and I had a brand new face/screen on it by 7 pm. He even stayed late (past closing) to finish up. Ironically, the whole process only took about 15 minutes total. When my camera was being wonky that same evening he told me to come back the next day if it was still acting up (and it wasn't my lack of charge). His word was gold.
