Leaving this review for my father. He traveled in from out of state, and was having major issues with his laptop. Took it into DAKtronics and they turned it around fully repaired and under budget in a matter of days. Then when my mother spilled coffee on her laptop the keyboard stopped working. She went to a computer near where she lives and they could not do anything so she placed and emergency phone call to Daktronics who found the right replacement keyboard and had it shipped directly to her house with instructions on how to easily replace it. They simple are the best of the best for anything computer related. Dana just built a new PC for me for much less than I could get anywhere else - and it's clean. No junk loaded from the factory. 18 seconds for full start, a beautiful machine that fit my needs exactly, not something I pulled off a shelf at a store that I made fit my needs, which I then had to fight with due to all the added junk software. He's built laptops for my wife and I as well. This is a full service computer business no matter how big or small your need is. The other half of the brilliance of this business is Echo. There isn't any problem, challenge, update, cleaning, question, software issue she can't address with incredible creativity. They were unable to recover external hard drive data and seemed unsure how to even try. The concern was mainly that days would go by without being able to get an update on the status of the work. For basic PC work they will do a good job including quoting you a new one. More complex work should be done elsewhere. read more

Brought my computer to sell. Owner stated first, that he could expect 900 to 1,000, then after a week or so, it went down to 7 or 800. Then he called me with an offer from a woman, that was $550, as she stated she could get it at Mac Outlet for $550 so with his cost of warranting the computer and wiping it clean would be $440 to me. This mean he would charge me $110. I got the computer back, went to Mac Outlet who charges $39,99 to wipe and warrantee, and paid me $550 stating that they would sell it for $800+ that they would never sell a computer like mine for less than $800. You can draw your own conclusions from this bait and switch. read more

Two days ago, Dana fixed the laptop cover lid for me. He asked me if he can remove my camera. I didn't want to pay extra. He said no charge it's free to remove camera. Yesterday I picked it and went home. I watched YouTube to listen the music. The speakers aren't on. I tried to set it up. But sound did not work. Today I went back and have Dana to fix it. He said device isn't installing and need update. My speaker and sound were on all the time. He asked me if he fixes it and charge me again. I was disappointed. I didn't want to pay twice at the same time. I took my laptop with me.Today I called the other computer repair shop. He will look at and fix it for me. I went there. He did fixed it for free. I was so happy. I gave him good tip for his lunch. He is great computer repairer. read more

I was in the market to buy a new computer, whether big store, or small biz from scratch. I opted with the latter to support my local community. I was looking at a comparable computer at the big box store for less than $700, which would have included an OS, all the bells and whistles, AND support for my machine, but I paid $1200 to Dana to build my computer from scratch, and he would have charged me extra to load the OS on there, and extra for any support I needed after the 6 months warranty he gave. So I went to a big box store, bought my own OS and anti-virus, and loaded it myself. I couldn't have known this then, but it's now a couple years later and my hard drive is crashing. I had to have a computer tech come out and service my machine, and he said that an older model hard drive was put in there, it is incompatible with current version of something and updated hardware modalities (whatever that means), and it's about to die. It's making noise as well, where at first, it was pretty quiet. With once exception, I noticed the good reviews for Daktronics were all from guys. I thought, well that's interesting. I hesitated posting this review, but in the end, Dana didn't hesitate taking me for a ride, so all's well that ends well, I guess. read more

My laptop died just before Christmas and I ran down to BB and bought a very cheap laptop which I was not very happy with, but I don't know that much about RAM and all that stuff so I took it to Daktronix to have them take a look at it. Dana, the owner, was very helpful. He spent a lot of time with me explaining things, for no charge, and I came to the conclusion that this computer was not going to work for me. He helped me research a better one in my price range and he didn't try to sell me anything from his store. I went to another place and bought the laptop and I love it.
