That experience set the tone for what became a lifelong relationship built on trust. I went to Illinois State, where State Farm wasn't just a big company, it was THE company. It represented everything that felt solid and dependable. Friends and classmates went to work there. It felt like being a State Farm customer meant something. And for decades, it did. As I built my life, State Farm was there at every stage, renters insurance for my first apartment, coverage for my first home and my second home, multiple cars, our family trailer, and eventually my kids' vehicles too. I didn't shop around. I didn't compare rates. I stayed, because I trusted you. But that trust has been broken. After a recent move to a new city and enduring a car accident and a couple of rock/windshield claims, my local agent is canceling my policies, leaving my family's coverage in limbo. It felt like I went from being a valued customer to just another name on a spreadsheet. For a company built on neighborliness, personal service, and loyalty, that kind of treatment is hard to accept, especially after three decades.
