Dublin airport is still one of my favorites on the international front. Plenty of duty free options to shop. Typically free liquor samples - although don't go crazy if you have a long flight! Decent food options. Free and decent wi-fi. What's not to like. More importantly, having now once gotten stuck overseas due to customs being closed in the US, knowing you'll complete customs here on the front end is a huge plus. Factor that in to your travel plans (don't worry, TSA pre-check and Global Entry are in full swing). I loved being able to just 'walk out' after arriving back in the states from Dublin. read more

Dublin Airport is small and easy to navigate. Going through security was efficient. Coming in from London, we carryon had to be inspected. The staff were very nice. It was quick. Leaving Dublin for the US was also efficient. First you go through security then US Customs. So when you arrive in US you do not have to go through customs. The Customs officials were thorough and nicer than the US. Unfortunately the Liffey lounge with access through priority pass is not accessible after customs. The map is misleading. It appears that it is by the gate at Gate 400 but there isn't a gate 400. One lounge is in the terminals but needs to be reserved on line. No reservations were available at 7 am day of our flight. It is also not available on priority pass. Important to note: Once you go through customs, you cannot go back! After customs, there was minimal food and shopping. A few small duty free kiosks, 1 restaurant, a few coffee shops with little food options, and a small WH Smith. We could only find 1 water refilll station. Bathrooms were crowded. read more

Dublin airport was easy to navigate and the best part if you are going to U.S. from DUB, they have a U.S. Customs in this airport so you can clear US immigration and customs before you step on the plane in Ireland, and step off the plane in the States as a domestic arrival! At this time, it is the only European airport that has this feature. Other than that, note that if you're flying Aer Lingus, you have to weigh your checked bag and the queues can get messy because people don't know what to do. read more

The Dublin Airport could easily get a 5/5 if lounges aren't your thing. Very clean, efficient lines, and friendly staff. There wasn't a huge variety of lounges and at least one or two were before security, which was the only downfall. I brought leftovers, so I didn't visit any of the restaurants, but there appeared to be a decent amount. read more

I've flown in and out of this airport a few times. A bonus is that when you're flying into the United States, you go through the U.S. pre-clearance facility. This allows you to go through typical customs you would once in America. However, it's done before boarding in Dublin meaning once you land in the States, it's no different than landing domestically. The airport itself is clean and easy to navigate. Employees are helpful and friendly. They've got shops (including my beloved Boots) and restaurants like any other airport. read more

We used this airport on a couple of occasions. to catch a flight to London- it was a late night flight There are two terminals at Dublin Airport - Terminal 1 and Terminal 2. The Departures level in Terminal 1 is located on the first floor of the building. The check-in desks in Terminal 2 are located on the ground floor of the building. The terminals are located within walking distance of each-other. Airlines flying from Terminal 2 are Aer Lingus, American Airlines, Delta, Emirates, El Al and United Airlines. All other airlines including Ryanair, fly from Terminal 1. The airport itself is well connected with the Dublin city center, you can just take a bus outside the terminal. Lots of shops, restaurants, everything. Passport control was quick and the officer was polite. while reaching to gate, it was nice to read history of airport (Beatles in 1963, Game of thrones ad, Yes! Ireland offers official tour of GOT and it was fun to knowing behind the scenes) Shopping: There are cafes, restaurants and shops located in the area after Security Screening and some more limited offers in the gate areas If you are travelling internationally, a valid passport is normally required. For some countries, your passport will need to be valid for at least six months after your intended return and you may also need a visa. I had UK visa but did not face any issue while entering Dublin. read more

So I just experienced 2 new (for me) airports in 3/4 hours. BHX (Birmingham, England) and DUB (Dublin, Ireland). Night and day difference! BHX was a disaster, simply not ready for the 21st century yet - see my review!! DUB is small compared with LHR (Heathrow, London) but that is one of the benefits. A big bonus for myself (and many Americans) is that we pass through US customs and passport control using the very latest technology (almost - you still have to take your computer out of your bag and remove your shoes) and in 2 minutes you are formerly in the USA. Nice!! My checked bag goes straight through to LAX and I walk off the plane there and pick up the bag as if I had just flown to LAX from any other US airport. From what I have seen the airport here is clean and fairly spacious. One disappointment is that the lounge here (51st and Green) for business class travellers (not me today) and supposedly open to all €50 is "full" so I couldn't get in :(. They have a designated area for shops and restaurants. There is a kiosk to order food and a designated area to pick up. It's clean inside but the food is just okay. The airport is nice and a different experience that I'm use to. They announce everything in English and Irish. Definitely a nice airport to land in. read more

Flying in and out of Dublin Airport was a positive experience for us. Nothing special and pretty standard for an airport, and we appreciated that! The airport is well laid out, modern, well-kept and very clean. Lots of art installations, good amount of signage and it was easy to navigate from gate to parking lot and the reverse. Upon landing, we had to make our way to the rental car bus station, where they would take us to the rental car area, which is technically off-site. The bus station was fairly easy to find, but lacked a bit of covered waiting area, which can be useful in Ireland with the rain and all. On departure day, busses from the car rental spot to check-in counters was uneventful and timely. We had to check in with Aer Lingus, then went through security and ultimately customs. DUB is one of the airports where you can preemptively go through customs, which was a nice tough and very easy to do! Took a bit of the guesswork and stress out after landing back in the US. My only gripe with DUB was the amount of, or really the lack there of, outlets and eateries. Maybe I am spoiled by US airports, but DUB did not have a lot of options for eating, cocktails, coffee or shopping. We made do with a spot for breakfast on the way out, and then a coffee spot in the lobby area on the way in, but more options would be nice, especially inside of the terminals. Overall, we enjoyed our trips in and out of DUB! read more

Acceptable international airport with plenty of dining and shopping options. Dufree is loaded with hard to find bottlings. The ability to pre-clear USCBP is fantastic, no waits once you get back home. Drawback is that the US gates are in a dungeon with nearly no options for dining or shopping. read more

Landed today at the Dublin Airport in Ireland. We took the RyanAir flight which unloads everyone onto the tarmac then a long walk through the airport to the luggage area and secured the bags immediately. There were several coffee spots near the exit but the main emphasis was on Guinness beer, with their advertisements posted everywhere. In 1759, Guinness was founded at the James Gate Brewery in Dublin. I felt like this was the beginning of a great trip. This airport is definitely smaller that most so navigation to the taxi pick up was simple. On our now to Scotland and purchased an Ireland duck from the Duty Free for $6.00. read more

After a smooth landing in Dublin, Ireland, from Amsterdam, a bus will pick you up from the airport. Then, a train is provided for international flights to the terminal, taking you to the planes headed back to the United States. Facial recognition is the new ID for airport travel. No papers are necessary; just you, with no sunglasses on your face. There are lots of checks and balances. Even though facial recognition is available, passports and boarding passes are still needed, but friendly, efficient delivery is provided at all checkpoints. read more

Horrible airport experience. If Dublin Airport accepts overnight transfer passengers, it should have a process in place for handling them. Instead, we were told we couldn't remain in the airport, then discovered security was closed and we couldn't re-enter for hours. That left dozens of travelers stranded with nowhere to go during an overnight layover. To make matters worse, airport staff were waking up exhausted passengers who had managed to find a spot to rest on chairs or the floor. If there are no sleeping facilities available and passengers are stuck waiting overnight, what exactly are they expected to do? The lack of information was just as frustrating as the situation itself. There was little guidance about where transfer passengers should go, when security would reopen, or what options were available. The entire experience felt disorganized and poorly planned. This is many visitors' first impression of Ireland, and unfortunately it leaves a very poor one. I've traveled through plenty of airports, and I've never experienced an overnight transfer process this confusing or inconvenient. If Dublin Airport cannot accommodate transfer passengers after midnight, airlines and the airport need to stop scheduling connections that leave travelers stranded overnight. One final note: to the café staff waking sleeping passengers, please don't physically touch people you don't know. A verbal wake-up is more than sufficient, and the last thing exhausted travelers need is a stranger putting their hands on them. read more

Honestly, pretty easy to navigate! Good signage throughout. The uber pickup area was far though. You have to walk all the way to the end of the pickups. Buses get prime real-estate. Then taxis and after Ubers. The airport felt small and didn't have too much going on. Compared to Los Angeles International Airport, anyway. Very clean airport. The restrooms were stocked up with toiletries. I would fly in to this airport again. read more

Nice airport, has a nice modern look to it. I was in the international terminal and before going into the US pre clearance area there are some nice options for food and shops for souvenirs. After pre clearance there really isn't much, so wait till you absolutely need to go or stock up. read more

The only reason I am giving it 3 stars and not 1 star is that arriving at the airport was a breeze. Our flight landed an hour early, and we got our bags and went through immigration and customs super-fast. Everyone seemed friendly at 8 AM. The flight back to the United States was a completely different experience. Everyone at the security checkpoint was absolutely rude; they could not be bothered to answer questions. There were a bunch of people who made mistakes and left liquids in their bags. They are still using the liquids in plastic bags rule. This includes lotions also, so do not forget the hand lotion in your purse or even the cold meds that have the gel inside them. Even going through US immigration at the airport was an issue; they were not listening to the fact that I had the tickets for my aunt and Mother, and they kept trying to separate us into other lines since we did not live in the same household. The weigh stations at Aer Lingus do not give you an option to print the boarding pass, and the line to be seen was going to take at least an hour to get to the front, so we were using them on my phone. I wish I could have had the same amazing experience as the day I landed. read more

I'm writing this as an international traveler, who had to arrive there in August from Anchorage, so it was a long trip, and I was jet lagged, as I did not sleep on the 2 planes. I then had to travel further to England. Upon debarking the airplane, we went to collect bags, as they had not been checked all the way through to our final destination, as we had traveled on 3 different airlines. I managed to find 1 of the few seats available, while my husband collected suitcases. My suitcase failed to appear, and if this were any other occasion I'd probably have been mildly annoyed, however, I was traveling to England to bury my son, and the clothes in the suitcase were for his funeral, so it was of the utmost importance that I receive this bag, due to the fact that the funeral was the following day, we would arrive in England in the evening, and have no time to go clothes shopping. So we went to the lost baggage desk, and were greeted by a very rude young lady, who strictly speaking, should not be in a job that may require compassion when a bereaved lady's suitcase goes missing. She lacked warmth, empathy, compassion and rudely directed us to a machine, that recorded all details of lost baggage. We kept filling it in wrong and got error messages, but she refused to help further, and offered absolutely no kindness of any sort. Frankly I would get her fired if it were possible. This girl is unprofessional, and unsuitable for this type of work. She kept blaming Alaska Airlines for losing the bag, as if that would make me feel any better, and when I asked what should I do, she kept directing me to the machine. When we returned after getting error messages, she refused to help, and we had to get another young man to help, as she would not even come out of their back office. But then, there was an ENORMOUS walk back to ticketing, with ZERO seats, and my back was in terrible pain, which can usually be managed, if I can take frequent stops. I was unable to do this in Dublin Airport, due to there being no seating - something that is unheard of in American airports. Also notably absent are the mechanized walkways, which would also have helped my excruciating back pain. I get that sometimes it's a long walk from terminal to terminal, but in American airports, often there are trains, or at least mechanical walkways, and usually lots of seats. It was horrendous, and I was in a lot of pain, with nowhere to rest it. Ticketing was a debacle at the Ryanair desk. There were no lines, and it was a chaotic free for all, with no indication of where we need to stand, and we stood in the wrong area for a long while. There was another interminably long walk to the next gate, with again, no seating along the way. I was in agony, jet lagged, anxious, starving, and we eventually get to the gate, and again there's no seats. I hated every minute of my arrival at this airport. The departure lounge is a whole different matter, it has lots of seating, and shopping, places to eat. How can one part of an airport be so vastly different from the other. DO BETTER! read more

I really enjoyed my experience at the Dublin airport. It is a medium sized airport with a small airport feel. Everyone we interacted with (employees) were incredibly kind and helpful. It is extremely clean and easily navigated. The bathrooms were fantastic (especially as compared with most of the airport bathrooms in the US). Both the Irish Customs people and the early access US Custom setups were great. I would happily use this airport in the future when flying to Ireland. read more

Staff were friendly and helpful from checking in with Delta tp going through TSA. TSA was smooth and easy. NO yelling was heard as we have heard at pther airports when gping ghrough TSA. That wasnice. We came 3.5 hrs early for our flight. I would say the lack of clear procedures explained to passengers was lacking by either the airlines or TSA. Poor sinage to explain what tou needful each set of things one must to do and then a roped off area where your gate is supposed to be. We had to go find someone to ask. It is pretty easy to create signs for passengers and to put them put when needed. read more

Go upstairs, online check in looked at, told to go downstairs to Aer Lingus queue. Said but we are British Airways, told same company. I've flown through this airport a couple times in recent months. It's not a bad airport by any means, but it has some quirks that hopefully I will learn to accommodate if I continue to fly through/to here. On our previous flight here, we had no major issues on the way here. On the way home my child left his backpack at the rental car location. The staff was so incredible in helping to make sure that we were able to get my child's bag. The real problem was that once I had gone through security , I was unable to go back through security to try to get his bag, but the wonderful staff here at this airport, managed to get his bag and bring it to me just on the other side of Security. On our next trip here, our flight was delayed coming from the US and promptly upon departing our flight, Aer Lingus was there to let us know that we had missed our connection and they had boarding passes waiting for us for a flight 2 hours later. They were super friendly and efficient. On our fourth trip through this airport, we landed from the continent and then proceeded to US customs and border protection because that is what the screen said to do. We had a three hour layover and little did we know that there was no food once you passed the American Customs and border protection pre-clearance. So please note if you are flying to the United States of America you need to eat before you go through US customs and border protection because there is literally one option once you pass it. They will not let you through back to the main terminal. That being said, the people here are so nice! Definitely one of the friendlier airports to fly through or to. read more

My mom and I transited through Dublin and it was also one of our 'hubs' on our trip last month. It was a pleasant experience. It's easy to get overwhelmed at International airports sometimes, but we didn't feel overwhelmed here. The rental car garage was extremely close by, which is always nice. And the attendant was very helpful. There's also great signs throughout the airport, which makes like easier. All in all, this was one of the better International Airports that I've been to recently. read more

On both entering and leaving Dublin, the experience going through the airport was great. Extremely quick and effect. Well signposted and easy to navigate. There's absolutely zero safe areas for a pregnant woman to relax and lay down on a layover without having to pay for a lounge. This airport has zero carpeting and all the chairs are separated and made of metal. Disgusting way to treat those that cannot afford a lounge and need to put their feet up for blood flow. This is the worst airport and 4 hour layover I have ever had. read more

Dublin airport is a great place to start your holiday or end your holiday the staff are so friendly helpful all around the airport and it's the home of Aer Lingus the national airline of Ireland they even have a pre clearance if you're going to America and you don't have to do the pre clearance when you get to America from Dublin it's a great place to travel internationally domestic and regional . I've flown in and out of Dublin airport at least four times now. This airport is pretty seamless and easy to navigate. The signage if very clear and there aren't a lot of confusing twists and turns. Not to stereotype but everyone is always very friendly and helpful. When you need to be pointed in the right direction there is always someone there to help you and have a smile on their face. I don't always feel so confident or helped by staff in the states. Very friendly vibes and when needing an airport that you can get in and out of with ease, it's pretty good. For example, today I got off my plane and walked to baggage claim. I don't know how it's possible but within 10 minutes the carousel was turned on and everyone's bags started coming through. It was so easy and quick! Even one of the security members clarified if that was really my bag that come off from the California flight, told him yup, and he was like "wow so fast". Haha. Glad we were both equally as impressed. Long story long, I don't know many people that love the airport and I personally hate flying so any kind and/or easy interaction to make my travels less painful is much appreciated. That's how I feel time and time again after leaving Dublin airport, it's a pretty good one. read more

I've flown into and out of Dublin Airport for two separate trips now, so I've been here four times total. It's a small airport compared to some of the hub airports in the states, but it's far from the smallest airport I've been to. It's fairly easy to navigate in this airport. Pickup and drop off is easy and clearly labeled. There are bathrooms throughout the airport that are clean and big. Customs was quick and easy entering the country but takes longer when leaving to the states. That's probably more due to how strict the US is with customs and less about the airport itself, though. Make sure you check the preclearance screen before going to it - they don't seem to allow you in until about two hours before your flight. I don't mind going through this airport and I'm sure I will again in the future. read more
