I can't comment on the garden center. This a review of Eggbert. My wife and I (both in our 40s) went because it was a grey day and I had gone 35+ plus years ago as a kid. The price as of 2025 is 20 dollars a person (under 3 is free) and I think there was enough to make it worth it. A bunch of farm animals, a few heated tents of various Christmas displays, also Santa, and of course Eggbert. There was also a game room that had a slot car track and some Pac Man machines (the new retro ones), NBA Jam and some air hockey tables and cornhole in the middle. There is also some food stalls but they didn't look all that great. Obviously if there is a long line it probably wouldn't be worth it. But it was pretty quiet when we went a few days after Thanksgiving and it was definitely 5/5. read more

I grew up on going to Devitt's for Eggbert. When my son was born, that was one of the first things I wanted to share with him. Fast forward 2 years (thanks fucking Covid) and I finally got to. The trail has been revamped with a lot more to do. First area where you come in is themed with snow-related animals and candy, then you move to farm animals (including a cow calf this year), and then it's Eggbert's garage (with driveable race cars). After that, there is the new stuff: a new comedy show with talking animatronic chickens, then Eggclair singing Christmas classics (she is actually scarier looking than Eggbert). After that you can ride a small train ride, meet Santa Claus, mail your letters to the North Pole (Santa employs a air vacuum system), and finally meet Eggbert himself. For those who don't know, it's a large animatronic egg voiced by a set of smartass (in a good way) school teachers, who interacts with children by asking what they want for Christmas. He also knows every child's name, as the children are given name tags when they enter and forget by the time they meet him. It's extremely weird all around, but it just works. Supplementing this is a huge awesome Christmas shop, so including the Christmas train set of your dreams and a food truck or 2. Devitts is an outdoor home supplier, and if I ever need anything I'm driving out of my way to come here. What they've done over the years is very special for the community and shows what remarkable people they are. Glad they were able to surge back this year with the longest lines since back when I was a kid. If you don't like them, then go lay down in the middle of route 32. read more

They also listen to your needs and provide useful suggestions, or, if you know what you want they respect that as well. I went today to visit the Christmas on the farm. It was outstanding... from the parking attendants and all their help were friendly and very helpful. The snow globe was beautiful. The price was very reasonable. Each exhibit was beautifully done and magical. .Santa was friendly and very patient.The race cars hands on activity was a big hit along with the train ride .Letters to Santa and mail box that delivered each letter to a bin was my favorite. Your own groups time with Egbert was icing on the cake. What a great experience and afternoon for our 2 grandsons ages 3&4 and for Grammy and Pop-Pop too . I've gotten my mulch from them for 8 years now without a problem but today was a disaster. I scheduled 15 yards of mulch two weeks ago to be delivered today and the lawn people tomorrow. Not only did they not properly write done my phone number, but when I called them to find out why they were late, they told me they were sold out and have no idea when they would deliver the mulch. The young girl who I spoke to could have cared less. When I voiced my displeasure she accused me of yelling at her. Like I said to her, maybe she should put her phone down and pay attention to your job. read more

A local Christmas attraction is at Devitt's Nursery ,featuring Eggbert the talking Christmas egg. They also have an indoor Xmas display ,an animal farm,car display,where there is a large toy racing track with cars and feel free to pickup the remote controls and race the cars around. Their a station where you can write notes to Santa and mail them to Santa workshop and watch your mail get delivered. They have a miniature train ride and much much more. The walking tour takes about 45 minutes if you're just pushing through longer if you do face painting ,writing Santa ,talking to Santa and playing with the race cars. Then at the end you spend time with Egbert the interactive breakfast food lol . Egbert will call you by name which amazes the kids. At the end put name tag on a wall. All for the low price of$8.00. Great family fun. Did it with my daughters ,now taking my grandsons. I highly recommend this to all it will really put you in the holiday spirit. read more

Awesome, awesome nursery and staff. Courteous, informative, helpful, considerate, and I can go on and on. They are absolutely great!

NOTE: This is about Eggbert. I have never gone there for anything else and this was my first and now last experience. The children seemed to love it, and so did I, the decorations were very nice and you can tell they put a lot of DIY effort into the details. It was great until Eggbert said something rather unsavory when we walked away. Seven of us showed up to enjoy the decorations and take the kids to their favorite talking egg, however when Eggbert and the kids finished talking and we started walking away with me in the tail end of our group Eggbert said "I see you've got yourself a little monkey following you around" Luckily my partner heard this as well or I would have probably been called a spoiler or scrounge for being sour about this little comment but it was not for me being insulted that I'm upset. This is a children's event, and being the only Hispanic in a group of seven I wouldn't want the same to ever happen to a child in my own shoes. I didn't bring this up to the kids we were with either, pretty much hoping that if they did catch what Eggbert said that it would just fly over their heads you know? However I cannot guarantee that if Eggbert says this to anyone else that things would go so smoothly. So just a friendly advisory, be aware of where you are taking your kids, and that the voice of Eggbert may have not received the proper training it should have. Or maybe he was trained just right... who knows. I just know I will not be going back. read more

I've been here many times for both small and large purchases. I stopped in most recently last week to buy grass seed. I agree with the previous reviews that the staff here are very helpful and knowledgeable. Staff are assigned to various areas throughout the inside and outside of the store. They usually stop and see if customers need help. They follow through to make sure you find what you're looking for and they know the products they're selling. The store is always well-stocked and equipped to handle bulk purchases. I also bought a half-ton of landscaping stone, which an employee helped me correctly match up with my older stone. They gently dumped it into the bed of my truck, taking caution so they didn't scratch it. My only reason for 4 stars instead of 5 stars are the prices are slightly high. Keep in mind, you get what you pay for. The products are great and the customer service is top-notch. Sometimes it's better to pay a little extra as opposed to the cheaper products/service you'd get at the nearby chain stores. read more

Last Sunday I took my grandson and his parents and my wife to see Eggbert. The line was long but that was fine. However being in line for well over an hour and 40 minutes, the transformer on Rte 32 blew and the entire place was in the dark. After a few minutes we were told we had to leave. However, there was no attempt to offer vouchers to come back again. After spending $32 dollars and not getting to the main event was disappointing. read more

I have been buying my flowers from Devitts for years. They have a huge selection and knowledgeable staff. There hanging baskets last the entire season and are huge. I have to dive 45 minutes to get there but it's worth the trip. read more

I went to Devitt's today with my mother for an early Mother's Day present. We were looking around and we saw some flowers in one of the greenhouses over by the trees. We found this beautiful red and yellow hanging plant and in this unique basket and so of course we picked it up. We go to checkout and the women working there takes it from us at checkout saying that it was for a special order and she couldn't sell that to us. So my mom asked if these specific flowers in this basket were anywhere else? They respond not in this basket but there are similar ones over there, these specific ones were custom made the flowers and basket. So my mom replies "oh so you can custom make these for people?" And the man responds "not unless you have thousands of dollars and laughs and walks away". I've never been so appalled in my life that an employee would say that to a customer. One you should never insinuate how much a customer may have in their bank account and two that a common customer shouldn't get a high priced item from their business. I can't believe how rude this man was and his awful attitude. We will never return. I thought businesses wanted to make money,but I guess not. read more

The Eggbert part for kids is great.. Went back to get plants in the summer and I was shocked by the very high prices, I bought a plant for $109 and saw the same exact plant one week later at two diff nurseries for $54 and $65 same exact size and name read more

My dad loves this place. He loves to garden so he comes here every year in spring/summer for his tomatoes and soil supplies. I think he grew some of his long squashes from here, too. It's affordable and not sure if organic. Staff is super helpful and friendly. They also sell flowers, decorations, and other yard things. It's super big :D read more

Devitt's is a beautiful gardening and landscaping supply store. But I really like it because the people who work there know so much and they are always so nice about taking the time to answer your questions. I know there are a lot of contractors who spend a lot of money there, but even though I am just a home owner with a very small yard and they don't make much money off of me, they always treat me like a valued customer. I could probably go to a big box store and get things a little cheaper, but I don't. I feel that the help and advice I get at Devitt's is invaluable -- certainly worth way more than the few extra cents I might spend. I love Devitt's! read more
