Update: After posting this we were able to get in touch with the branch manager and he seemed apologetic and professional. He came out and sprayed our home and yard perimeter. It has been a little less than a week but we have had no bugs. We are happy to finally get the service we paid for. Generally bad service and bad service rep. We moved into a house with a large yard and needed bug control. I called Dewey and asked if they spray the yard parameters well as the inside and outside of the house and I was assured they would. The service rep said they do not and he did not treat the yard parameter. During the next few months, we needed to call them back for bugs in the house and large black widows on the patio furniture next to the house door. When telling the service rep we still see bugs in the house he told us it's ok as long as they are dead bugs in the doors and counters. NOT ACCEPTABLE. We recently told him we are still getting bugs in the house and he became irate and started arguing so we closed the door as we told him to not come back. read more

I was a big fan of Dewey for a while but the last couple months things really really went downhill and I'm not sure what happened. I got a new technician and he seemed nice enough but after my last service I noticed that my patio was covered with spiders and webs. I called Dewey and asked them to come out for another service and explained the issue, they sent the tech out. Seemed like he was here for a really short amount of time and I noticed some of the webs I had mentioned in my phone call were still there, untouched. Spiders all over the patio remained so I called a few weeks later and requested another service. The tech called me to schedule and I explained in detail my issue and gave specific locations I wanted taken care of. The tech came, seemed like a short visit again and yet again webs remained and spiders all over, black widows to be specific and a couple other assorted spiders. I was done after that, I moved to another company and after one service I haven't seen a spider or web on my patio in 5 days. I don't know what happened to Dewey but it's disappointing, I hope they can get back on track and provide the service I used to get from them. read more

I've read some poor reviews about Dewey here, and I don't understand them. First off, the team at this office are stand-up people. They not only navigated the rat & cockroach problem I was having, but they were no-nonsense and straight forward about the issues. They let me know that my property manager was cutting corners with contractor fixes (hello Frontier Property Management). And when another local company couldn't stop the pest problem, Dewey came in and CLEANED HOUSE. read more

Stay away from Dewey Bakersfield, who has a tendency to lose keys and not provide service. They charge your account on time even when the service is not being provided. Since we started using their services, we have given them the benefit of the doubt regarding why we don't see any services being provided. When they do show up, we get a note saying to call for service as they are unable to enter the backyard. We have already replaced our gate lock three times and had to issue new keys to our pool guy, gardener, and Dewey technicians because the technicians keep losing our keys. To make matters worse, they informed us via text that the previous technician who had our keys no longer works with the company and has taken our keys. As homeowners, how would you feel if a complete stranger has your keys, and now you have to change your locks and add additional security measures because Dewey failed to keep your keys secure? As a large company, I do not expect such unprofessional behavior and endangering our safety by not keeping our keys secure. Back in December I had to give another replacement key and now I received another text message letting us know that the technician who worked for them took the keys and that they never had our keys in their office. I spoke to a supervisor back in December and he assured me that all technicians have to drop off the keys at his office, he clearly lied to me as I'm encountering the same problem again. I decided to cancel their services and inform prospective clients or current to take your business elsewhere, with a company that will care about your business and keep your home safe. Please take a look at some of the texts we received. They are still asking for the keys and to leave the gate unlocked, even though we have provided the key since the beginning. I replaced Orkin with Dewey for pest control services. The value was great but the quality paid the price. The area I live in is notorious worth red ants. After a couple of months of services, I started seeing red ants in the house. Followed by flies and mosquitoes. Mosquitoes are an additional fee whereas Orkin included mosquitoes, wasps, and flies with their standard pest control services. read more

After 12 years of service we had to switch. Our original service person left and we have had several since. Over the past few months we noticed more bugs and more spider webs. We called to voice our displeasure and was told our service provider was no longer employed there and a manager would call. The manager never called so over a week later we called another company to come out. We called to cancel and they said we needed to give a 30 day notice and they could send someone that day to do a service. Too late. They had also just raised our rates. Less service, higher rates. read more

Absolutely terrible, they literally didn't help at all, missed several appointments, and then when I tried to cancel said it wasn't allowed since I signed a 12 month contract so they would need to fulfill the contract or I need to pay them 300 dollars. DO NOT USE THEM!!!! read more

We used these guys for pest services for a while. Then we had them fumigate the house. They tented our courtyard after agreeing not to, then refused to pay for any damages to all of the plants. Small claims court was wild. They basically said, yes, we weren't supposed to fumigate the courtyard but we have a clause in our contract that holds us harmless for damage to plants, so too bad. Our bad for not reading it thoroughly. Don't sign their agreements. At least we moved on and got a MUCH better pest service. read more

Great service! Our regular technician Ralph is awesome! Very approachable, professional, thorough and considerate. Even when it's ungodly hot outside, he takes time to say hi to my family and patiently answers my little kiddos unending plethora of questions and gives great advice. He even has befriended my crazy territorial GSD with treats when he's done. He always calls the day before he arrives to allow us to prepare for his arrival. Every person I've dealt with has been nothing but professional and comfortable to be around. In my experience, they have a great staff. read more

Ralph has been our bug man for over a year now. He started us up when we first moved in and got our home into shape. He is very knowledgeable and provides information about bugs per season. We do not have any problems indoor and outdoor. He annihilated our problem when we first moved in and we haven't had any problems since. When I first started using their service around two years ago I was very satisfied. Now this bill me, demand payment for services not even rendered. I have been dealing with ants on my own because of the quality of their pest control service. So they bill me every other month $68 regardless if someone has been out or not hmmmmmm?? Because someone used to come out regularly to spray outside and get the cobwebs but I haven't anyone for a loooooong time. But yet they're still demanding payment and threatening to send me to collections. I'm good. I'll find another service that actually shows up. read more

Received excellent service from James today! Not our regular tech, but happy to meet him this time! James mentioned he was filling in for someone today. Arrived on time, he was courteous and professional. He noticed excessive spider webs outside and went above and beyond to clean them! If you are willing to pay 68 bucks bi-monthly for services you will never receive until you have black widow eggs in your garage, spider webs all around the inside and outside of your home, and your family wakes up with spider bites then Dewey Pest Control is your to go to Pest company! They are unreliable and when you call them and ask why you are paying for services you are never receiving they will tell you that "it's your technician's responsibility to make the appointments and to make sure they go there" so does that mean the company is just a third party and the technicians are their own business??? Save your money and don't bother getting a quote because you will only get services about 2-4 times the whole contract year!!! read more

We hired Dewey Pest control to do a termite inspection for a house that we are interested in buying, while in escrow. Jason came out and inspected our future home for termites, water damage, dry rot and anything and everything that could possibly invite termites in. He was diligent and thorough in his inspection, inside the house including the outside structure of the house. He took his time inspecting above and beyond what was expected of him. He was pleasant and patient in explaining what his concerns and findings were. He sent a detailed "Wood Destroying Pests and Organisms Report" that mapped out all his investigation on the house. When I signed up for this service I was basically talked into a quarterly payment plan, which sounded good - wrong! I didn't realize that it also meant that it would only be a quarterly service UNLESS I called to have someone come out. I get busy with so much I don't have time to call for service - I guess my fault! When I sign up for a service I don't what to call to remind them to come out. So far I have paid $255.00 for 3 services. I called to cancel and I would have to pay $199.00 to cancel, or 3 more quarterly services so another $255.00. Just beware of what they are signing you up for. Very disappointed! read more

It hasn't been a month yet since we switched to Dewey Pest Control and we are already disappointed. My husband had called the sales agent Jared (who said could be reached in case of any problems) BUT no answer nor callback from him. It hasn't been a month yet from they last serviced our home and we had already seen so many insects inside our home that we have never seen nor experienced before when we were with Dan's Pest Control!
