Kara and Pete are absolutely amazing. We have an 85 Westy and blew a head gasket on Memorial Day. We spent the night in Vermont and called them the following morning. Kara answered the phone and was super helpful and sympathetic to our situation. We had AAA tow it to their shop and we rented a truck to head back to Pennsylvania. It was a large job and Pete's calendar was packed. They were able to get it worked in and had excellent communication regarding the condition of the old heads / engine. We rented a car and retuned to meet Pete and Kara in person to pick up the Westy. They have a great shop with a lot of really cool Audi's and VW's in their lot. What a sweet shop staffed by great people! I live in a tiny place without a garage and needed my Sunday car stored for the Winter...this isn't a service they offer but after a few days they called me up and said they found a spot for a price lower than anyone I knew and it was heated. I asked them to change all of my fluids and give the car a thorough inspection and they did..and even found an oil leak that I didn't know existed. Fantastic service, great staff and the prices are much better than any dealer in the area. I'll pick my car back up from them in May. read more

have had nothing but good experiences. Peter runs a great shop. when I had a fair amount of work done they noticed a few other small problems (welded muffler hangers and fixed an oil leak). They threw those fixes in for free since i had already paid for the other work (even the original pricing was great). There was a small problem following one of my repairs due to a bad part, but they ended up covering the tow back to the shop and all associated work at no charge. read more

Peter is a really nice guy who knows Volkwagens inside and out. He took a look at an 87 Westfalia that I was looking to buy and then put on some undercoating and did some service to it before I bought it. Along the way, he was very good about getting back to me and ended up picking me up at the train when I came to collect the van. My only hesitation is that he didn't do all the service work that we'd discussed, but I'll err on his side and figure it's because he didn't think the van really needed it, so figured he'd save me some money. On the whole, I'd highly recommend Peter if you find yourself in his neck of the woods. read more

I really cannot say enough about Peter Dexter at Volkspart, he has been an amazing person to work on my '01 Passat and I could always trust him to do good work, at a good price, and to KNOW what he is doing! When I did have him do work on my car, he knew of innovative ways to fix the problem instead of relying on the "lets just swap out parts until it works again" approach of some other garages. He TRULY does KNOW the workings of the vehicles he services. I will miss his service, although just be forewarned that he does one thing a little too well, which is keeping you informed. Be prepared to spend alot of time listening to his explanation of the work being done, as he really tries not to leave anything out, so it takes a while! Unfortunately I just moved out of the area, and I have still had to call on his services as the garage I brought my car to tried ripping me off big time. Peter was even kind enough to lend me a hand with not only confirming a diagnosis and giving me an estimate, but also work to try and help me find a new garage in my new area.
