This is one of the very few full blown gyms in the area - I guess the only other one is YMCA. Even…read morethough it's newer than the Y, it is still old. The equipment itself is OK, but that sofa at the entrance what the heck is with that? (See photo) Imagine a prospective member comes in to perhaps sign up for a membership and is ask to sit there!!! It is peeling and unpresentable! Locker room and the pool/hit tub areas are other examples of lacking proper maintenance. Moldy tiles and rusted ADA accessible chairs. What is nice though is the variety of activities you can do with your membership: cardio and weights of course, but then add sauna, swimming pool, hot tub, racket ball courts, basketball/volleyball court, group classes, spin room, and child care room. That is a lot! Membership promo as of today is $20/mo plus $59 annual fee. So that's $25/mo after the initiation fee of $99. Not bad assuming you stay as member for a few years, or it'd be like $33/mo. But I think this reflects the fact that the gym is getting old.

The instructors, classes, and members are all so amazing that I can't imagine life without Momentum. Classes are challenging, but everyone's supportive and it's so exciting to see progress. Everyone starts out on the struggle bus, but we get better every day and feel great. Trust me, physical benefits are secondary compared to how good you feel after a Momentum workout. Upon setting foot in the door, I immediately knew that Momentum was a perfect fit. It's an all-female gym for starters--a huge plus in my book! There are women there of all shapes and sizes and all abilities, so I haven't yet felt self-conscious or clumsy. The staff is super-friendly and helpful... as are the members! Many of the folks know one another on a first-name basis, which is unlike the fitness facilities I've belonged to in the past. Momentum has a wide array of cardio and strength-training equipment. Also, another cool plus--when you join, they provide a free goal-setting session so you can map out what it is that you'd like to achieve. They also will set up separate appointments to train you on their cardio and strength training equipment. I imagine this would be particularly helpful for women that haven't used this equipment before. The class schedule is has a lot of diverse offerings and it spans the entire day. The earliest classes start at 5:30am, which is great if you're an early-bird like me. They have spin, yoga, pilates, BodyPump (strength training), BodyAttack (cardio), and a bunch of other offerings. Thus far, I've been very pleased with all of the classes and instructors. If you're a beginner (like me), the instructor will usually work with you before the class to get you familiar with form/techniques and give you some tips on how to get the most out of the class. Another huge plus--this facility is kept immaculately clean. They have showers, tanning booths, a sauna, etc. They also have a day care room for kids with toys and a space where they teach them yoga while the moms work out. (It's adorable!) This little community of all-women fitness-goers definitely has a very supportive vibe. I can't say enough good things about this place! If you're in the market for an all-female gym, definitely check this place out!

Wow! There's so much…read moregoing on at this Y! I was here to conduct a PT test for my company, but I wished I had time for a swim, workout, or something after the fact. It's a bit of a maze finding your way around, but wow, the amenities are amazing. I'm a member of my local Y, which includes the use of about 10 locations, but this one is NOICE! For one, there are several pools. One for laps, another with 2 lap lanes and for swim lessons, and there's what looks like a little swim park for kids. There's another small pool that wasn't in use. I wasn't sure what that one was for. The indoor track is a bit small, but they keep it cool. A volleyball team was practicing on the basketball court below, which could be seen from the track. There's a big cardio room and to the side you'll find strength training machines and some free weights. There's also a large day care center on the left side of the building. So many kids came pouring out it must be a large space! The staff is very friendly and of course there's plenty of seating to sit in the front lobby. There are also high tables where several people were seated drinking coffee and on their computers. This is a very nice Y.

The cost is expensive but worth it. The only thing I would do better is the service. I went there today so before that we tried to get a raquetball court but the guy wasn't attentive or anything. PRO 1: Amazing teachers…read more --Lynette! She is so knowledgable in how to move your body the right way. You can tell she has devoted her life to movement and understands from a practioner point of view. She creates challenging classes that are enjoyable and fun. She is magic! --Stephanie is also excellent--she is also a practioner and a bit of a wonder woman, to be honest. She has great intro classes. -- I have taken classes with a lot of other teachers who are excellent. Every one of them is mindful and focused. Pro 2: Small business, local, woman owned. I really appreciate Allison Zang who is the owner. She is human and allows me to be human, in that she considers my reasons if I miss a class (I don't often!) and has a great short dialogue to support me if I was not feeling well or if something came up. I think she is a great business woman. Pro 3: The community is great. So many different people from different physical (meaning body types, age) backgrounds. Many are loyal and repeat clients. That says a lot. I really enjoy the focus on ourselves yet there is a bit of bonding over time that makes it a healthy and enjoyable social climate.

Players used tees that were in the room while waiting their turn to hit in the cage. I am a first time visitor to the Batting cage at the Train Yard Gym, I am not a member of the gym, but none the less I was treated with a high-level of personal attention. I will definitely be back and have already told other coaches about the room.

I love the classes, the structure and the critiques... he always makes sure your form is on point and the people make you feel like every class is just one big family gathering! I think I'm stuck here forever! Oh and my husband has been going to this gym for a while and he's like 100lbs down (6 months for him) I think but yeah! Oh and his family!!!! Literally amazing his wife and kids are so supportive to everyone. Literally my heart melts when I see them! Ohhhh and he pushed passed exhaustion..... This place is humongous, the biggest Planet Fitness I've been to. In addition to the expansive main…read moreequipment area for cardio and resistance workouts, there is a separate partition for stretching, and additional areas for the 12 minutes abs, and 30 minute circuit.  Then there's the relaxation zone for pampering: nearly a dozen horizontal and vertical tanning rooms, 1 red light therapy room, 2 hydro-massage beds, and 2 massage chairs. I've been to half a dozen fitness establishments including the Y, New York Sports Club and LA Fitness, but this is by far the cleanest facility ever. The locker room doesn't smell, the shower curtains aren't moldy, the vanity tops are constantly being wiped. I'm really impressed how PF emphasizes on the cleanliness of its facilities.  This is also the only gym I've visited where there are separate dressing rooms inside men's locker room. Sure there's no swimming pool nor sauna or steam room which I always look forward to using whenever I'm given the opportunity, but for $10 per month, what they do offer is still a bundle of values that's unbeatable. Aside from the purple theme, what I absolutely don't like about this PF is the location. I literally dread the ingress traffic from the Carlisle Pike approach which's often backed up all the way to the 581 ramps, and the egress out of the Sporting Hill Rd where I need to be aggressive exiting out of the strip mall. Given that the best time for my workout is right after work when the conditions go from bad to worse, the stress that I'd have to endure is an absolute deal-breaker for me. If your schedule and/or route can circumvent this, you should absolutely take advantage of this nice facility.
