As complete novice above ground pool owners, my husband and I have struggled quite a bit, even with the help of an outstanding pool service. Every time I come in here, armed with photos and an idea of what I think I need, they're happy to help...and then as soon as I get home, I find out that what they sold me is in fact not at all what I need. Just today, for instance, my pool tech told me to pick up a backwash hose at Leslie's to attach to our pump. I showed the employee a photo and gave the dimension that my husband had measured, duly purchased the $65 hose he recommended, got home, and...not only is the end of the hose too narrow for the place it attaches, it's just a cut-off end of plastic hose, with no connector. I called the store and got a long song and dance about pools are like children, all are unique, he sold me the most common/standard hose, yada yada, well yes I would in fact need a hose clamp to CONNECT that hose to my pump, why didn't he mention that, well, apparently I didn't ask, well no, they don't carry larger diameter hoses in store, blah blah. And back to the store I went to return the useless hose and get my money back. So after making two trips here in a day, plus having to verify that the refund comes through on my credit card, I ordered what we needed from Amazon. In the future, I will not waste my time, effort, and gas money to pretend that anyone at Leslie's can actually help me.

The best part about our project was the 3D design she sent us and when it came to the live version, it was spot on. Although we did not do our landscaping, or patio cover options with her, our project was done on time, and we are still loving it and adding to it - to this day. Here we are in 2026, and while I have reached out to her over the years for various info, on her resources so that we could get some continued work done, even if it wasn't contracted under her...she was always willing to share the information. We are grateful for this so that we can do some add ons and keep the same look as we expand on our pool and entertainment area. The owner of TexSun poolscapes picked materials and design choices we should have had a choice in because it increased her profit margin but we had to live with her choices AND pay for it. DO NOT use this company. The Austin stone she picked for our water feature is crumbling every time it gets cold. We specifically told her NOT to use photos of our pool, yet here they are.

You get a photo report of everything done to clean and maintain your pool. They had me up and running well before everyone else because they advised me of backlog concerns after the freeze and got me in the queue fast. I really like the photo reports after every maintenance.

It finally couldn't go any longer. We called Brakefield Pool and the owner, Jay, came out. He confirmed it indeed was time. Our tile grout was starting to come out too. Quoted us a very fair price (we had looked around and they were pretty much on par) for replastering. They did try to save our tile so it wasn't an extra cost but Jay showed me how water was getting behind the tiles and gently tapping them I saw 3 tiles fall off and agreed. They replastered, new tile and grout and sealed the deck (that was our choice). Never felt pressured to get anything. Very upfront and honest and takes the time to make sure you understand what/why they're doing.

I hired Brakefield for chemicals only and had been paying these guys once a month to check the…read morewater and to add whatever chemicals necessary. They decided to clean my filter without my knowledge and charged me. I never hired them to clean my filter or any other service other than chemicals only. They then proceeded to charge me for the filter cleaning. After I refused to pay for the filter cleaning, they immediately cancelled my contract. I do not recommend these guys. I would rather pay double than hire this company.
