DFW Painting was supposed to come out today for a quote. The appointment was confirmed for May 8 at 10:00 AM. Around 9:00 AM, someone called me to schedule an appointment for the following week. I did schedule for the following week because I honestly thought they were a different painting company, since I had contacted several and also had other estimates being scheduled. I never heard her clearly say she was calling to reschedule today's confirmed appointment. She may have thought she explained that, but the communication of that critical piece was very vague and brief. A proper introduction should have been something like: "Hi, this is Elizabeth with DFW Painting. I know we have you scheduled today at 10:00 AM, but unfortunately we need to reschedule due to..." That would have made the situation clear. That is a basic and proper opening line for something like this. Because her communication was so unclear, I didn't even realize she was canceling today's appointment and that they were the ones that were already scheduled to come. I am an executive who communicates via email, virtually and in person every day. I am well-versed in proper communication. That confusion and lack of professionalism is why I decided not to move forward with them. Communication is paramount. read more

Did receive $100 gift card. The CEO also reached out via email and even provided his direct phone number. But, so put off by responses from the project manager during the aftermath--and being condescended to about how much time was spent correcting outstanding issues THAT THEY CAUSED; I'm still finding overlooked areas like under the fireplace mantle, items that were used w/o permission like my new ladder that had paint marks left on it, and other plaster remains--so, I literally threw up my hands and said "Enough. I'm done." I have hired a new contractor to do additional paint work for a kitchen remodel. They assessed the other interior work done by this company and felt the popcorn removal and ceiling repaint was done satisfactorily, but also noted many inconsistencies in the retexturing and application to the walls and fixtures. I was aware of lot of uneven seams as well. Overall, they considered the work done suitable for flipping a house--done fast and efficient, but lacking in detail. Based on the Yelp reviews, I had high hopes for them to take down wallpaper in three of my rooms, texture, and repaint. They were not our cheapest quote, and I was willing to pay more for good service and said it would "take no longer than 3 days". Overview: On time arrival, but slow service and poor communication as to project completion. If you don't have 4 hours to be on the phone managing a project everyday, then walk away. Also, if you like the wrong colors to be painted places, this is a great group. Day 1: The crew showed up on time, and no major problems. They asked if they could work late, so I changed my dinner plans because they wanted to work until 7 or 8. 6:30 rolled around and they checked out for the day. We were told that they would finish the next day. Day 2: The crew showed up on time, and then a trail of lies started. I was told that they could paint over wet texture. A quick call to the project manager said "heck no" and they decided to let the texture dry. The crew told me at the beginning of the day that they would totally finish this day. They did not finish and then blamed me that I wouldn't let them cut corners and paint on wet texture. They said they were only going to send a single person (the crew was originally 4 people) for Day 3 and that it should be done in a few hours. I had concerns that the project wouldn't be done, but the program manager ensured me. After asking them not to dump paint on our property, we found paint in the driveway and our brand new garden hose caked in paint. Day 3: The single person showed up on time, but by 1:30pm it was obvious that he wasn't going to be able to paint all three rooms in one day. Between 1:30pm and 7pm I placed 12 calls to the project manager and there was a lot of miscommunication. At first they were going to send crew to my place by 3pm. After "traffic" the back up crew made it here at 7:05pm. All the way they promised they would take care of me and that it would be done by 8pm. They didn't leave until almost 9pm, and we discovered they painted one of the bathrooms the wrong color. Day 4: Finally the project manager shows up and work starts to repaint a lighter color over a darker color in the bathroom that was painted the wrong color. They promised they would be done. 8pm rolls around and they are not done, but started cleaning up and got paint on my hard wood floors. Day 5: The senior project manager shows up and sends a real crew over to finish. They took all day, but it was finished. It looked really crappy and cheap on every edge because they didn't mask correctly. I spent the next 3 days redoing edges and cleaning up after the crew. I wouldn't use them again. They only offered 10% off the price but really they should have offered at least 50% off. Don't get closer than 12 feet to any wall of you don't want to see imperfections. read more

First and foremost....they subcontract. I didn't know this until the first day i came home and all the painters had their shirts on inside out leaving their true business name barely visible. On to MY story. I met with a DFWPainting rep, who through the process was very good. He tried to meet all of my needs and keep me happy but the company as a whole fell short. We hired them to paint several areas in our home, including our kitchen cabinets. My first and last statements to them were "Our main priority is these kitchen cabinets. We want your best guys that know how to antique glaze". I showed them examples of what I wanted, a solid cream color on our cabinets and then a brown antique glaze. I was told, "No problem we can handle that, do it all the time." I had no reason to think otherwise, I even saw a finished job picture here on Yelp from a 5 star rating. Anyways, on three separate occasions, I came home and was horrified by the "antique glazing" that the contractor put on our cabinets. I'll upload some examples after this review. Most of it looks like a black sharpie was used to draw around the grooves in my cabinets. At one point I sat the contractor down and showed him videos on Youtube of antique glazing methods. I could tell without a doubt he had never done it before. He even asked me "whats in their can?" referring to the stain that they were wiping onto the cabinets. My project was a $10k project for DFWpainting and this is the "best cabinet guy they had...for me". Anyways, not being happy I told my rep this wasn't going to work. The painter had 3 different attempts at this and we were nowhere near to being happy with the results. At this point, i was told they could send some of their "employees" to finish it up...guys they knew could do it correctly. I agreed this was a good option. The very next day when i spoke to them i was told the employee painters were tied up and would be for a very long time. Their solution at this point was to remove the Antiquing from the quote, and call it complete. So now i have to hire another company to come complete the job. Which will be hard for me to do because DFWpainting only took $800 off the final price for not doing the most time accumulating task. No pro painter will touch my cabinets on a glazing job for $800. On the first picture you see they were getting closer to what we wanted. They finally used brown and covered the whole cabinet but it was uneven and had brush marks all through it. Nothing like the other reviews here Other issues: 1. Our roller shades were not taken down as i was told they would be. I came home the first day and had paint on them which we cleaned the best we could but it is still visible. The shades were installed new 3 days prior. 2. Our trim around our 12 doors was never painted so I had to have that removed from the bill as well. 3. Paint brushes were cleaned daily in our kitchen sink or in our yard, to which one day the hose was still on when i came home and the yard had standing water in it. I will give credit where it is due. 1. The painting that went up on the walls looked good. Once the living room was painted we realized we had chosen the wrong color. They immediately stopped painting and we chose another color that we were happier with. We did have to rebuy the paint and pay twice for the labor, which we had zero problems with. It was our mistake and we were happy to pay extra for our mistake. The color just didn't look good once the entire room was painted. 2. Our contact, the guy that quoted us and worked with me through the process was very accommodating, respectful, and capable. The issues I had with DFWpainting were not issues he had any say in, from what i could tell. I don't believe the decision to refuse us service because we couldn't be pleased was his decision. (check out my pictures if you haven't already...we were not making unachievable requests). 3. The painters, the subs, were good guys. I honestly believe they were doing the best they could do, trying to antique our cabinets. They just had no clue how to do the work. It was evident they had never done it before. I showed them SO many examples. I typed in "antiqued kitchen cabinets" in Google and showed them the first 20 or so images that popped up. They just couldn't do it. Long story short... We paid ALOT of money. We got some of the work done but not all of it. It is going to cost us ALOT more money to have it finished by someone that is competent. Take my advice, ask for examples of the actual workers work before you hire this company. They will tell you that you are getting the best but you aren't. We closed on our new home and had DFW Painting paint some accent walls, ceilings, trim, & doors for our media room, child's nursery, playroom, & living/dining area. When requesting bids, the project manager was the only person to arrive on time and reach out to clear directions considering that it was a new development. The project manager took measurements of the entire house and provided an itemized quote for every part or every room in the house which allowed for our family to decide exactly what we wanted and were willing to pay. When it came time to perform the job, the painters were prompt and ready to work. They were willing to work all day until the job was complete. The painters were also patient with my schedule and waited for me to come review the job prior to leaving. After they finished the job, my wife and I changed our mind on the playroom base color. Since we had a decorative design on one wall, it was extremely labor intensive to make the update, however the painters were accommodating and came back the next day to make the update for us for no additional charge than what was originally quoted. In the end, all the rooms looked extremely great and we were still on our move-in special. I will be calling them for all future home painting projects! read more

David arrived, walked the house with me, did some measurements and had an immediate estimate for me. I had a copy of the estimate, broken down by room, along with some "what to expect and most asked Q&A's" in my inbox before end of day. I walked through the house with our project manager Rodolfo, explaining which colors I wanted where, including three accent walls. I was a little worried in the beginning since their estimate was so much lower than other companies, but I am so glad I stuck with my gut and had them do the job. DFW Painting came out with a competitive bid to paint the downstairs in my condo (about 700 ft), including the 18' ceilings. They were completely done in less than 8 hours and left it spotless. They even used the non-smell (low VOC) paint. It looked so good, my realtor recommended that I do the upstairs as well as it looked "dingy" compared to the vibrant & fresh downstairs. We had them come over to paint the interior of the house we recently purchased. DFW Painting representative showed up on time and step us through the process, and we were looking forward to work with them. However, looking at the result, we regret our decision. Overall painting itself wasn't bad. We asked them to remove the popcorn ceiling and repaint with orange peel texture, and all the ceiling and walls are painted nicely and uniformed. But couple things that made us stressed out throughout the process and just feeling sad afterwards: 1. Painters did not clean up thoroughly, so we have to spend couple of hours cleaning just to get the paint off our newly installed floors. After two weeks, we are still seeing couple of paints here and there throughout our house. 2. We gave them the access code for the garage for the painters to come in and work during a week of work. During that week, one of the painters brought his child and let her stay in the room that we had all the furnitures and didn't ask for painting. We found it out because we had surveillance camera outside and a kid left earmuffs and candy wrapper on our sofa -- very upset and uncomfortable. 3. Painters had to use an extended ladder to work on some areas, and they left a huge dent on our newly installed wood flooring...DFW painter rep came to pay for the cost to fix the flooring after all, but when we first talked directly with the painter, he wasn't apologetic at all -- rather, he was like "just to talk to our rep, not talk to us" kind of style. 4. We found a crack on our window after the painting. The painters did not admit it, and yes, we don't have an evidence. But on the other hand, the painter told us that they filled in the holes that we did not ask ($40 x 3 spots) as a "courtesy"...where did this courtesy came from?? 5. We did not ask to paint doors and trims, but they did not cover them so we now have sprayed paint over doors and trims. We already painted couple on our on before, but now we have to redo everything. And just minor things, like they used our kitchen microwave (which is OK), and they left it dirty with sauces and everything inside (not OK). They used our patio table inside, apparently, and now our patio table has paints over it. I feel DFW Painters representative is fine, but the painters they use are not professional. So sad with the result and things they had done to our new house. read more

We had DFW Painting repaint our entire house after we purchase it. This included walls, ceiling, trim, and some cabinets. They also repaired some large drywall cracks and gaps that opened up due to recent foundation work, as well as two water-damaged windowsills. Our project manager was Damien. Our painting crew was led by Victor. Quote -- they were in the middle of the range, about 1/2 as much as the most expensive quote. The quote process was much more of a "consultation" where he explained all the work and repairs in detail and why each one was necessary. Other companies were just about getting to the final price as quickly as possible, instead of helping us understand each element of work necessary. Quality of work -- house was painted exactly to plan. There was some confusion about one room with a complicated roof line, but after a quick conversation with our project manager we sorted it out without extra expense or time spent. Timing -- The crew finished up a day ahead of schedule. We did not require any touch-ups. Cleanup -- No issues. The house was mostly free of dust and there were only a few "drips" that all came up with some scrubbing. All furniture was protected. Damien is highly professional and very detail-oriented. I hired DFW Painting to paint our living room and bathroom. I found their estimate to be right in keeping with the other bids I received and the service was perfect. The workers showed up on time, worked hard and finished exactly when they said they would. The project manager, David, was knowledgeable and friendly. The office staff was very organized and friendly as well. That said, I wasn't happy with the prep work they did in the living room. There were areas of the wall that should have been sanded and weren't, as well as a couple of spots that needed some sort of fill material. Because of that, my husband and I decided to paint the bathroom ourselves--we can save the money and do a better job. However I still give them four stars. We recently moved into our new home needing the entire space painted and reached out to DFW (based on their yelp reviews) as well as a handful of other companies from Angie's List and Yelp. Probably half of the companies I reached out to never responded - the others were unprofessional, slow, or much more expensive than DFW ($2k+). I can't sing DFW's praises enough. I have had many spaces painted in my life, and no painters have been as meticulous and detail-oriented as DFW. Out of our entire 3500 sq ft home, we only found a handful of touchups. They also went above and beyond - we are new to homeownership and asked them a few favors that we didn't realize would be a huge hassle (e.g. if they could remove light fixtures) which they did without complaint. Brittany (our account manager) was endlessly patient and incredibly quick to respond to any and all questions (even getting on the phone after hours and on weekends). Honorio and his crew were fast, meticulous, friendly, and a pleasure to work with. They finished in under the time estimate and even agreed to stay late when we asked to add more rooms. We identified our touchups and they were there the next day to make all of the updates. I will absolutely hire them again for any painting needs! read more

In a majority of cases, I was over promised and under delivered to and some people just didn't even show up. When I called DFW painting and set up my appt, I received an e-ml confirmation and short bio on the person who would provide my estimate. Then, he showed up on time, was professional, knowledgable and honest setting expectations with me about the next steps of the process. And he never tried to pressure me or oversell me anything. I decided to give them my business and was not disappointed. The painters arrived and knocked out my whole project in the balance of the day. They were very careful with my furniture and respectful of my belongings taking great care to ensure no paint came into contact with anything but the walls. They did work for us a few years ago so we weren't prepared for what was to come. What looked great at the time is now TERRIBLE! Great work by Tony and his family. We had an extensive remodeling project which included popcorn ceiling removal over much of the house and painting some rooms. They went above and beyond what we paid and we couldn't be happier. Such great attention to detail. Communication was awesome and Kyle who oversaw the project did a great job in keeping everything on track. So good there was no need for touchups! Of course it took 5 days to complete and the cleanup afterwards was pretty good but you know there's gonna be some bits of plaster here and there. I never even received a quote. They were nice when I called to request a quote. Someone even called to confirm my free estimate. The man showed up and he want very enthusiastic. He said I would have the quote the same day. Three days later nothing. I called them and they were rude and he said he sent it. Needless to say I did not get a call back and no one cared about our business. We were cash paying customers. Our sales persons name was Rod. Beware of this company they do not seem to care. I thought it seemed suspect that there were so many 5-star reviews. There were so many that it looked like they were not real. But I used the company anyway. I did not feel like I got 5-star service. They gave me a detailed written estimate, room by room, with itemized prices. Prices were very competitive. They started off being very impressive and efficient. On the first day four people showed up to work. The man who gave me the estimate, a foreman and two workers. The two workers stayed to tape up windows, cover the floors, etc. Nobody ever came back with any paint! They did what they could and slept on the floor in my living room for five hours since they could do nothing else. I was kind of mad, but I was paying by the job and not by the hour. They did not speak any English (and I did not speak any Spanish). At five o'clock I had to leave to go to work and I could not communicate that they needed to leave and wait for their ride outside. On the second day, at least seven workers came. They painted the entire inside of my house in one day: walls and ceilings. There was overspray on the wallpaper that I was trying to save. Day three: Only a couple of workers re-taped and covered so that they could do the doors and trim. That took all day. They told me that it would take three days to paint my house, but since only a couple of people were working, it took them all day to prepare. Day four: ONE person worked most of the day painting the trim and doors. It took him all day, so they took a full day longer than they estimated. They removed the nails from the walls even though I asked them to leave them. I wanted to re-hang things in exactly the same places. Where I did want nails and screws removed, they left them! There are spots where the original paint color shows through the texture in the walls. The line between the colored walls and the white ceilings are not straight. I never got a final walk-through. He did call a week or so later but by then I was through with it and turned down the walk-through. The cats and I had moved back inside and I did not want to have to deal with more workers in my house. Over-all, it is an adequate, acceptable job. I certainly could not have done it myself especially in four days. But it is not a 5-star job like all of the reviews that I thought seemed fake! read more

Looking for a company to come and paint your house? Look no further. After months of deliberating what color to paint our kitchen and bathrooms, it took a few more weeks to find us a company to paint the areas we wanted with out bending us over. We had a different painting company paint our living room and bedrooms prior to us moving in 5 years ago, and when we tried calling them out to do our kitchen and bathroom job, their prices went way up. WAY.UP. So... the search began. Since I live with a 'frugal' obsessive-compulsive this process is pretty painful - not just for me but for the contractor-to-be as well. Thank goodness Rod with DFW painting has the patience of a saint. Not only that but he was fair and very efficient with his quote. The contract was signed and work started a couple weeks later. The painters arrived at 8:30 a.m. on a Monday. These guys stayed and completed the job until 7:00 p.m. Now, these guys were top notch. Probably the most professional painters we've ever come across. They were honest about the work they did and completed everything that was asked. Mike and his 'crew' (I asked for the guys names but that's all I got) did a phenomenal job. Not one spot was missed and they cleaned up immaculately after themselves. Most of all, I have to commend the guys for not totally losing with the obsessive-compulsive who insisted on watching 80% of the process!! I can honestly say the initial paint job we received on the living room and bedrooms is NOTHING compared to what these guys did. My only wish was that we would've found them sooner... read more

Before my husband and I moved into our new house, we met with three different painters to give us an estimate on wallpaper removal, texturing, and various paint jobs. DFW Painting was by far the most professional. Our DFW Painting estimator, Rod, called to confirm the appointment and to let us know he was on his way (he actually arrived before we did). He politely and professionally introduced himself, gave us a business card, and provided us with information about how the estimate works. We then walked through the house while he quickly took and documented measurements, asked specific questions, and advised us on parts of the job. We received a detailed and easy-to-read estimate by email that very evening. The two other painters from other companies were nice enough, and one was slightly cheaper, but we were too impressed with Rod's professionalism, so we went with DFW Painting, and we're so glad we did. Rod scheduled the painters and met me at the house one morning to go over the final details and to introduce me to the crew. The crew was polite and they cleaned up after themselves. The house was done in two days and looks amazing. I highly recommend DFW Painting. I plan to use them again soon to paint my kitchen cabinets. read more

We were doing to paint our movie room black, but it is oddly shaped and we have heard it is challenging to paint black well. I reached out to DFW Painters and had a quote 2 days later. They worked with my schedule and came out to the house at 530pm after work. Quote was reasonable and they were able to paint the room the very next Saturday! They showed up 3 minutes ahead of schedule, went over colors with us and went out to purchase the paint needed. They prepped the room perfectly and did a fantastic job. The room looks great! My wife and I moved into a house that had wallpaper in the kitchen, entryway, and master/guest bathrooms. I tried to remove the wallpaper myself with the intention of texturing the walls and painting them afterwards. Needless to say this did not work out as I had hoped. We made the decision to hire a professional to at least remove the wallpaper and texture the walls. After getting a few bids, we decided that we would just have the walls painted at the same time. Val came to our home to give us an estimate. The estimate was actually itemized so that we could see how much each project in each room was going to cost us. I am not a professional but the price was not only fair, it was in the ballpark that I had in mind and had budgeted for. We even received a discount for telling him we found them on Google!. Once I told them that we had chosen them to do the work, they had us scheduled for the very next week to start the work. Val arrived on the first day, along with his crew, and went over everything with me before they started. When we were done, they got right to work. They were very respectful of our things and cleaned up as they worked. The whole job took 2.5 days. I was so tired of looking at half removed wallpaper that the speed at which they had it removed and the texture applied was mind blowing! My husband and I are "do it yourself-ers" so paying someone to paint was not a normal thing for us. We are also very conscious of our spending . We recently moved into a new house and needed help with some of the painting due to the extremely high ceilings. Our first experience with company #1 was stressful and the job was not the quality that we were looking for (missed spots and trouble matching colors). After stopping the first company mid project I called back DFW painting (they had given me a quote, but we went for the $100 cheaper company). Rod- an estimator of theirs came out a second time to review the progress that had been made and see what else I needed done. He was very courteous both visits. Prior to his first visit I was emailed a brief bio with a picture of Rod so that I would know his experience and who was coming. This is great for a mom home while the husband is at work. Rod was very quick and efficient with his measuring. He then gives you a print out of everything broken down so you can pick and choose what you want done or all of it. The process is very easy. I was a little worried about them matching paint to the sample card that I had picked out at Sherwin Williams but they did an excellent job. The painter (Omar) and Rod arrived exactly on time and went over everything again to make sure before starting. Omar then taped up and draped everything, went to get the paint, and then went to work. He was super fast and very good. He touched up all the areas of concern from the first painting job and did the rest in a total of about 5.5 hours. After the project was completed I just called in to Valerie at DFW Painting to pay with a CC over the phone. I am super happy with the results and would use them again without hesitation! My wife and I hired DFW painting to paint the interior of our home. We received a bid from one other company and attempted to get a bid from a third company who never showed up. I called DFW painting and setup a time for them to come out and give an estimate. They then sent a short bio for Rod who was coming out to provide the estimate. Rod showed up on time and was quick and professional in providing a bid. He emailed the bid the next day and followed up with us to schedule a time to begin the work. The day they began work Rod and Ramundo, the foreman, did a walk-through with my wife to make sure that the colors for each room were the right ones. They covered all of our belongings and treated them very carefully. The went right to work and did a great job. They estimated that it would take 4-5 days, but it only took 3. When they were finished Ramundo walked through the house with us and we marked any areas that needed to be touched up. We are really happy with the job they did! Throughout the process DFW painting was clear and concise and let us know what to expect. Ramundo and his crew did a great job, were very helpful, and cleaned up after themselves. We just moved to the Dallas area and were looking to have our town home painted. I searched for painters in the area and found DFW on yelp. Their reviews were good and we called them to come out and take a look at the painting job. Tim came out 2 days later and we had an estimate before he left. He followed up via phone and email and we even received a note card in the mail thanking us for the opportunity to come out and quote the painting job. We had DFW paint our kitchen cabinets and built in entertainment center as well as paint the interior of the house. Victor and his crew were prompt everyday and did a fantastic job. They wrapped and covered all the flooring, baseboards, furniture etc. They finished in 3 days! They did a thorough job cleaning up and removing all the barriers and taping. Before they left, Victor was walking around doing some touch up and making sure there were no spots showing through. He also left his number in case we came across any marks in the days that followed as the paint dried. I would highly recommend them. read more
