Great company and personnel. I'd received exterior painting estimates from multiple companies. Although Next Door was not the lowest price, they didn't d offer the most value and customer service. They checked all of the wood around the house, power washed everything, and made some repairs. All was included in the total price. They stepped me through what would happen, held my hand while choosing colors, scheduled two full days of painting, and finished in one. The house looks fabulous. read more

Great project manager, crew, quality, and price. We will use them again for many more projects

I requested a quote via Yelp and got an almost immediate auto-reply response saying "Unable to service: booked for this time." Hmm, okay, but I didn't specify a time.... So, yeah, great response time for quotes, but terrible customer service. Seems like they're just immediately sending out a "bug off" auto-response to anyone who isn't requesting a major job, in order to keep their response time rating strong on Yelp. Focus on appearances with no substance behind that response rating. I also think it's strange that 3 of their 11 reviews have updates to their reviews with no additional/new information (see Rosalie, Vanessa, and ES). It's like they were asked to write a second five-star review to boost ratings or something. read more

Had to micro-manage several details. The details that were missed, were missed several times even with pictures that circled problem areas. Team lead never did a final walkthrough; continued to micro-manage from day one as they tried to paint around fixtures vs professional removing and painting as they were directed. Missed spots along the bottom of the house, ignored spots next to fencing (tried to blame us vs offering solutions). When I contacted management to explain what was happening the team lead contacted me shortly after to let me know he "got the email I sent to his boss" instead of management reaching out to discuss. Several instances of caked on caulking and paint came off... we had our house painted with masonry paint to protect the brick (from additional damage due to previous owners mistake of painting brick). When we noticed issues, team lead wanted to wait until after it rain... defeating the purpose of why we had the house painted and resealed in the first place. I'll stress again that I had to micromanage and re-explain things over and over. We also referred a neighbor (you do not get any benefit for referring this company while your house is being painted). Once we were at the end of what the team lead decided was good enough for him, we seemed to be treated as an afterthought completely with even less attention to detail and again, no final walkthrough that the team lead performed to ensure the quality of his painter's work. Everything was great as it started, but the way it ended was definitely a 1 star. Haphazzard communication (nothing was ever explained about warranty, it was like pulling teeth to get the paint type confirmation and even then was told to go outside and look at the leftover). Poor project management, poor customer service, no professional follow-up from someone who is capable of being accountable for making mistakes and or overlooking details (ie, doing a pretty sub-par job). The only thing they did complimenteray was paint the house (again with several overlooked detail spots) so I'll unenthusiastically give them kudos for being able to paint? Hopefully others have a better experience. read more

Very happy with the job quality, price, and speed of completion with painting some exterior parts of my house that were previously stained cedar. The team was very communicative and respectful of my property. They tapped and covered the appropriate areas well leaving me no concerns of overspray. They cleaned up after themselves. This was a great experience. After they painted I thought it needed another coat and they did it without hesitation. Any damage or problem you have, they make it disappear and look like new! They're all very polite, professional, and fast. They only use the highest quality paints and match them perfectly. After obtaining three competitive quotes from various painting companies, my wife and I decided to contract Next Door Painting primarily for their exemplar customer service given by their project coordinator Aviana and the painting crew led by Jeffrey. The first interaction with Aviana, who is as patient as she is professional, made the experience more than transactional. I'd go as far as to say, she educated us on the minute details in the process in a very comprehensible way. More importantly, she was very transparent and helpful in breaking down the quote and all that it entailed. Aviana's level of detail was also impressive: Before the painting crew left, we did a final walk-through with Aviana who pointed out spots that needed to be touched up--spots we wouldn't have noticed. As new residents to Dallas, Aviana was kind enough to provide us with restaurants, things to do and places to explore before we even contracted with NDP. The actual painting crew was also phenomenal. I initially called him from Washington to do some work on a house my daughter and son-in-law purchased and were moving into in Carrollton. (Note: I did call him several weeks out from the project so I could get him scheduled.) He was responsive, gave me good advice, and worked within the scheduling constraints we had.
