I needed minor bodywork on my 2024 RAV4. Mark looked at the damage, acknowledged that it wasn't a big job (how often does that happen?) and gave me a very fair quote . The work was done on time, one would never know that there had been minor damage on the right front fender, and it was a pleasure to pay such wonderful people. First time I had to goto get my car fixed for a hit and run. My friend referred me to here and I'd have to say best choice ever. They were super friendly and helpful. They were very clear walking through the insurance appraisal and prices and showing it on my car and what they'd be working on. They went above and beyond and buffed/painted another small part that happened from another car backing lightly into my bumper previously (again my car was parked and me not in it). I've been taking my car to DGC for years - Mark, Greg and the rest of the staff have always taken care of me and been transparent and fast and willing to take me in last minute. They do great work and don't overcharge. They know my name and my hobbies and I've appreciated having a mechanic I can trust in the area. The four stars are for all of that. Unfortunately, the rest of this review is not about their technical skills, but another important part of a business - the values they represent. A few days ago, I was in the waiting room working on my laptop while waiting for my car to get fixed. The owner of the business next door and a DGC staff member were loudly discussing recent events of the killing of George Floyd, BLM activism and our country's history of slavery in words I can only describe as racist and ignorant. One came out to apologize to me for their "language", but my problem is not with which words were used, it's what those words conveyed. I was incredibly disappointed to see that these were the values of a business I have faithfully supported for years. While the content of what was said made me wish I could ask them to re-examine their own beliefs and biases, in the context of this being a Yelp review for a business, at minimum I just urge the employees of DGC to think about how what they say loudly in their own lobby represents how customers understand their values as a business. I shared my thoughts with the DGC staff member involved in the conversation and appreciate that he was willing to hear how it upset me and offer an apology, however upon further reflection I realize how much this is not about me, this is about you, DGC. I regret to say that I will need to reconsider bringing my car to DGC in the future, because supporting a business means supporting the values they represent, and I can't in good conscience support the kind of ignorance and racism I witnessed yesterday. To the team at DGC: if you're interested in taking a step to right the wrong, I'd urge you to donate the amount I paid for labor for the two recent repairs you made to my vehicle (front brakes and door handle) in DGC's name to Black Lives Matter Boston (https://blacklivesmatterboston.org/). So glad I found DGC, and can highly recommend them for any auto repair work! Brought my 2012 Audi here to replace all four shocks and springs. The main mechanic Deco was able to get my car in on a very short notice and had no issues with me bringing my own parts. They did all the work in just one day! I have now been driving the car for about a month and everything feels great. Also the prices here are very reasonable, especially when compared to a dealer. My 82 Vette was running rough and needed a tune up. After bringing to a few places and getting quotes I finally looked at Yelp and their reviews and saw DGC had the best ratings. I was in a car accident which damaged my back bumper. my insurance company gave me a list of auto body places but I told them that I would go to my mechanic to see if he does it. I woke up the next morning and decided to go with the 1st place my insurance co. told me about, DGC, and am SOOOOO glad that I did that. Mark (the owner) and Greg were amazing. First thing they said to me was "Are you ok?" Which I really appreciated and felt it was sincere. They walked me through the process cause I've never been in an accident before, told me what to expect and even called the rental place to pick me up from their shop. I love DGC - I was desperate to find a mechanic one time when my brake pads were completely shot and came across this business on Yelp. That time I had my car towed to the location but have since gone back for any additional car issues (AC condenser/compressor). They are very nice and friendly, never make me feel dumb for any questions or descriptions of issues, and I think they are a very fair cost and aren't trying to gauge you. Unfortunately for me I had to get front end work done on my M4 and immediately I chose to go back to DGC Auto without any second thought. Yay!!!! I found an awesome mechanic/body shop!!! That's like striking gold right? My Toyota Corolla has taken a beating in the last few years. Busted front bumper, huge scratch down the passenger side, and then I got robbed over the weekend and my window was smashed. I figured it was time to get some work done. After scrolling through the local body shops on Yelp I came across DGC; who had the best ratings and reviews by far. On Tuesday I went into DGC to see what they could do. From the moment I walked in everyone was friendly, warm and funny. I decided to address the busted bumper. They took a look at the vehicle, calculated the cost of parts/labor then handed me off to Mark who went through the itemized list, and was able to lower the price a bit more. (They had already given me a price much lower than I expected, so the discounted number was an amazing bonus.) They also let me know that I could use their guy for the glass repair or I could have Safelite come right to the shop. On Wednesday morning I dropped my car off and put the keys in the "after hours drop off box". By 11:30 I had an email telling me that my car would be ready by 1pm and that they close at 5pm. I was so thrilled! Then I saw my car and was even more thrilled! Not only did they fix the bumper, they replaced the mirror cover, and painted the scratch down the side! My little car looks 10x better. They gave me an estimate to fully fix the dent scratch in the future... which again ... was well below the price I expected. I will be going to DGC for all of my repairs from here on out. The prices are fair. The people are honest. What more could you ask for? read more

The manager, Greg, was extremely helpful in explaining the process and working with my insurance carrier to handle everything behind the scenes. I got my car back right after the holidays, so I appreciate that they worked through the holiday season. Everything appears good so far, and will report if there is anything, but I was told they offer a guarantee on the work. Note - they share an auto body space with another mechanic, so there might be some confusion on who is who. The shop is about a 7-8min Uber from Assembly Row or roughly a 25min walk. read more

I would highly recommend DGC for auto repairs! I've gone in a couple of times, both times for relatively mild damages to the body of my car after minor accidents. Not knowing much about cars, I'm always nervous about repair shops taking advantage of my lack of knowledge, but Mark and Greg were absolutely wonderful about explaining their entire process, including how they would work with the insurance companies involved to get everything covered. They have a great working relationship with the Enterprise down the street, so if your insurance covers rentals, they can help you get the rental as well. Their customer service is truly above and beyond-- I had a pretty hefty deductible after my last accident, but they were able to work that down (a significant amount!) to what they considered a fair amount for the work they did. And their work was amazing- my car came out looking as good as new! read more

I made an appointment at DGC for a fairly simple mechanical repair a week in advance--they had previously diagnosed the problem and quoted a specific price. I dropped my car off at 8 am on the scheduled day and paid $25 to Uber to my office. Within two of hours I received a call from DGC explaining that they didn't have the part and wouldn't be able to get it for several days, oh and by the way it's going to be $75 more than the quoted price. I would have paid the extra money without hesitation except for the fact that I scheduled well in advance and they they KNEW the parts necessary for the repair but hadn't bothered ordering them. COMPLETE incompetence and total disregard for the customer. Another $25 Uber fare back to reclaim my NOT REPAIRED car -- there wasn't an apology or a 'what can we do to make this better'--just blank stares. I'm grateful to have discovered their inability to perform basic tasks before they tried to fix my car. DGC gets a big fat zero for customer service and a big fat zero for overall service. When I first called DGC, Greg answered the phone where he was very friendly and attentive insuring me that he would take care of everything. He answered any and all of my questions about the process of fixing my damaged car. DGC makes it *so* easy ... the side of my car was damaged by an impaired driver. I was dreading the time and hassle of getting the car fixed but, fortunately, a co-worker recommended DGC. These folks are professional, friendly, efficient, and super competent. They replaced one of the doors, negotiated with the impaired driver's insurance company to have the entire side of my car painted (the insurance company only wanted scratches "buffed" out), and returned it to me in perfect shape. Note only that, DGC went above and beyond my wildest expectations - they arranged for a rental car ready and waiting when I dropped mine off, had my car inspected since the inspection sticker expired during the repairs, and returned my car washed and thoroughly cleaned inside.
