More than that though, the owner Philip is very generous and helpful. For example, we needed a few of the jackets shipped (some internationally), and he handled all that for us. For the jackets we didn't need shipped, I wasn't able to pick them up at his facility, so Philip arranged a time to drop them off right at my doorstep. Not only was he belittling and unhelpful, he literally "shh'd" me and told me to shut up when I tried to describe the issue. Fortunately I managed to find a vendor who could fix the issue, but the experience with DGH was so cringeworthy that he'd benefit greatly from some minor media training. I belong to a UC Berkeley campus organization and my group was trying to make some hoodies for our current members and alumni. We had a few hoodie design ideas on the drawing board and thought it was a good idea to start looking for a print shop so we could have the hoodies ordered promptly once we agreed on the final design. I was the only one in the group with design experience and also experience in dealing with print shops, but this was my first time dealing with print on clothing, so our group was pretty much in the dark. I knew that ordering print jobs from distant online shops were a bad idea for many reasons, so I decided to shop around locally instead. I came upon D.G.H. Outfitters during my research, and I decided to give them a try among other competing shops. It was easy to set up an appointment with the shop owner, Phil, and we immediately discussed our options given my group's design proposals, budget, and time constraint. Phil was very friendly, professional, and knowledgeable in his field of work; he was very eager to help us meet our needs with quality set as the highest priority. The shop also showcased a wide variety of jersey and sweater designs from previous print jobs that served as good references for the types of printing that were possible through this shop. Phil and I held at least half a dozen meetings over the span of three months because my group was very indecisive with what we wanted our hoodies to look like. Throughout the whole time, Phil was very patient and understanding with our indecisiveness, and continued to provide us consultation every time I had to go back to him with new or revised proposals. We went back and forth not only between different designs and colors schemes, but also between different fabrics and print types (screen, embroidery, twill) as well. Eventually, it took my group four months to finally decide what they wanted, and Phil was ready to take our job into production. It took a little more than a week from our order submission until the hoodies were printed and ready to be picked up (we ordered thirty hoodies in various sizes). I thought this was a very fast turnaround time considering D.G.H. had to custom order a specific brand of hoodie that my group wanted but the shop didn't already have in stock. The quality of the print job was superb and beyond my expectations (in comparison to most custom and mass printed hoodies I've seen on the market). Our hoodies incorporated a large twill patch print on the front, with a very small section of screen printing on the back right underneath the hood. I understood our hoodies required a lot of quality time and precision work as the uniquely shaped large twill patches needed to be sent out to a different shop to be machine cut, but were brought back in-house to be pieced together and individually hand-sown onto each hoodie (remember, thirty in total). Despite the amount of time and labor required for the job, the turnaround time was very quick, and the price was very reasonable and justified. My group members were amazed by the quality of the final product and also thought it was very affordable as well. In the end, it was my pleasure to have gotten my print job completed with Phil and D.G.H. Outfitters. From my firsthand experience dealing with Phil and D.G.H. over the span of a couple months, I consider Phil to be a very nice guy and he is willing to go beyond the regular level of courtesy to meet his customers' printing needs. D.G.H. Outfitters is a business that I can trust, not just because of the superb quality of work they can produce, but more importantly because of the quality of people running the business. I've been buying & wearing hockey jerseys from DGH for many years. They go above & beyond to make sure that customers are satisfied. The jerseys are high quality & well constructed. I'm a student from UC Berkeley and strapped on cash. My Indonesian Basketball Team for the Indonesian Student Association of San Francisco (Permias SFBA) was going to be participating in the Annual Permias Cup which is a sports tournament for the Indonesian student groups all over the bay area. Its a pretty prestigious thing for the Indonesian Community here in the bay area. Anyways my team captain left to Cancun for spring break and he left me with the duties of getting jerseys. Since this was my first time making jerseys for my team, I did not know anything about the process, turn-around time, nor any shops that did screen-printing or labeling. I googled for days for shops and mind you we had almost about a week until the tournament. I found several shops in the City so I called and sent them emails. Then I remembered a shop called DGH Outfitters and I don't recall how I know about them but I tried them for luck. It was Sunday so I had to wait until Monday for an answer and again this tournament was the following Sunday. Only two shops from the long list I compiled from my research called back. I decided to go with DGH because it was in town while the other was in the City. Plus I'd figure to help out local business. It was funny because I really thought it was meant to be that I worked with Phil because when I called him on Tuesday to tell him I was on my way to meet him based on our email conversation, he was literally on his way out the door but out of reflex he picked up the phone. We worked out details and told me to come by on Wednesday. He said that he'll take care of me. On Wednesday I met his quirky but really cool assistant Tino. We talked about random stuff from Indonesia to politics while he showed me and my best friend around the shop. I honestly felt that this was great business run by great people. Tino's comedy made us feel welcomed. So I dropped off the jerseys that I bought from UnderArmour and was told to pick it up on Friday. Friday came and I met Phil. Boy was I happy because Phil said he would deliver and he did. He got my team's jersey printed with our team name and numbers for an affordable price and in a constrained time frame. He didn't even charge us for bigger numbers when the standard size were out of stock. That is good service. I know what I asked from him was a lot but hey thats what people do when they provide a good service - provide the extra mile for others. This is why I appreciate local business over big business. I play on an Adult Hockey league and when the team got together we ordered from Jersey Factory. The jerseys came to us and they were not good. The material was cheap and the logo's all faded after the first wash. After two seasons I decided to get the team new jerseys. But I was extremely stressed given my past experience. I do not recommend that you order your team jerseys from this business. He is unprofessional and does a very poor job. He ordered the wrong color for my jersey even though I brought him the old jersey. He recommended a very poor quality fabric that was not nearly as nice as the old jersey and he placed the player's name in the wrong location and when I pointed it out to him he tried to make my team wear the messed up jerseys anyway. Then after all of that and putting up with his poor business practices he refused to order additional jerseys for my team leaving me in the lurch. My team ordered hockey jerseys through DGH. It was a disaster. DGH disappeared after we placed the order. They weren't answering the phone or staffing the store. Finally, six weeks later they resurfaced and let us pick up the jerseys. No apologies. On top of that, the jerseys came with three 4-inch patches featuring DGH's name and logo. The patches are sewed _and_ ironed on. They were very difficult to remove (but I took the time because I really didn't want to be a rolling advertisement for DGH after this experience). My Ice Hockey team purchased our jerseys through DGH and from what I hear the transaction was very smooth. More importantly the jerseys look amazing! They are by far the best looking uniforms in league and are top notch quality. Our company was in need of getting some CamelBak backpacks embroidered with our corporate logo during the busy holiday season, and Phil at DGH pulled through for us 100%. We needed to get these backpacks done in about 5 days, and I tried calling a number of embroidery places in the Bay Area and everyone told me it couldn't be done. They told me it would be near impossible to get our logo on a CamelBak backpack and that I'd have to bring all the bags to their shop before they could commit to the project, and even then, they wouldn't guarantee they'd come out right. We were trying to find someone that could make a few custom patches and sew them onto heavy duty utility bags for our daughters new Physical Therapy related business. Sounds simple... It is not easy to find someone interested in this kind of low volume work. We had already purchased the expensive bags and wanted some elegant logo patches made and applied to the side. We quickly found ourselves in a difficult position because the bags could not fit thru a sewing machine and were impossible to push a needle through. This turned into a very difficult project and the final results needed to be very high quality. Phil Mazonson worked with us throughout the entire process as he tried one solution after another. He was relentless. He ended up having the custom patches made by a shop in New York and hired a local shoemaker with a super heavy duty machine to sew the beautiful patches to the bags. The bags turned out beautifully and exceeded our very high expectations. Once completed, he ended up charging us an amount that was less than his original estimate including the New York patches and local shoemakers services.
