We had an event in SoCal with Japji as our DJ. We were quite lost and confused as to how to best entertain our guests who were a mix of Punjabi and Caucasians. This was a cross-culture pre-wedding sangeet celebration. Japji helped put a program together, including wonderful referrals for the decorators, program timeline, types of segments like Milni and red carpet introductions to include, music incorporating both cultures, setting up great light show etc. He played dhol, made sure everyone participated and threw in a dance number her performed himself. This is the second time we hired Dhamaka productions and we are happy we did. Varun was our DJ last night and he is so sensible we had Indian party theme but kids were all teenager as it was my daughter's 18th bday party. Varun picked up on mood of the party and played appropriate songs for all occasions. Kids had so much fun!!! They danced jumped and went crazy and were fully into it. When the teenagers left, Varun again just sensed the mood. We were in dance floor now all of us were able to just sing along and dance with all the music and song he played. We just got married earlier this month and had one of the best times of our lives! We had Kamal, Pratik and Varun who helped DJ and with the lighting for our Sangeet and Wedding. The lighting turned out to be fabulous and was the 'fairyland' that as a bride I had imagined- we had several uplights for both the events and string lights for the reception. The music and the energy the DJ filled into the room was phenomenal- all our friends and family joined us on the dance floor and had a time of their lives!! We had booked kamal and his team for our reception in march 2016. He had assured us that the dj would be great and we would be provided good work. We choose him because we had good reviews from family who have used his team before, little did we know that the dj was going to be horrible and to point where my guest were dancing and my husband went to him and told him to play the music to do the manquien challenge. He tells my husband sure but then picks up the microphone and says we'll play that later on . WTH the heck seriously, didn't listen to a single song request we had and played old music. Was on his phone pretty much the whole time. I later contacted Kamal after my event and told him me and my husband were disappointed in the service he got, he said let me talk to my guy and call u later this evening and I guess that evening never came because till this day I have never got a call. I am a photographer and I had opportunity to work with Dhamaka Productions DJ Kamal and MC Varun. I have to say I admire there professionalism and performance. From a Photogharaher's point of view, it is very important to have perfect lighting at the wedding in order to capture amazing shots. The lighting they provided elegant colors of uplighting with stage wash and pinspots lighting. They were happy to make changes according to my needs. Kamal and Varun are truly masters of their craft, ie. smooth and seemless transitions, consistent on there sets. Kamal started by Bollywood lounge and R&B music during dinner. When dance floor open he got everyone dancing from Bollywood, top40, Bhangra, HipHop to Latin music. This was a mixed fusion crowd. I like his ability of reading the crow and modify the music accordingly was remarkable. Everyone enjoyed the night. MC Varun was skilled and gifted with strong powerful voice. DJ Kamal is gifted. We unfortunately did not get a chance to listen to his music before our wedding but since our first skype meeting, Kamal made us feel comfortable and listened to what we wanted on our big day. On the day of the wedding, he showed up early to set up his equipment. Ours was an Indian-American fusion wedding (Indian bride & American groom). We had a baraat ceremony welcoming the groom and his family into the venue. The dhol player Kamal brought along was fantastic! It was so lively and fun that I wanted to leave the bridal suite and join the dancing hehe. Throughout the afternoon and into the evening, Kamal played almost all the songs I had requested on my playlist and some other excellent songs that were in the similar genre! He understood our tastes which was pretty awesome considering there was Frank Sinatra, Elvis Presley, Michael Jackson, soft romantic Hindi songs and also the loud bollywood wedding ones. I would recommend DJ Kamal with absolutely no reservations. He is fantastic and will not disappoint. He know how to read a crowd and get people to dance.
