Working with Chris from SoundWave Productions was seamless. We had met with several DJs but after our first meeting with Chris, we knew he was the one we wanted to work with! He really brought the party and the dance floor was full all night! Having cold sparklers was a must for me and so we added those to our package for the grand entrance and first dance. There was a questionnaire on our portal that we filled out and it was a fun activity to do as a couple. There were premade playlists to give us ideas for ceremony, cocktail hour, dinner, and reception music. You can also create your own playlist on spotify and add it to the portal so that they can see your personalized tastes. We created a playlist for each part of the night to give Chris an idea of the vibe we wanted for each, but also wanted to make sure he knew he could play what he saw fit for the guests' vibes as well. It was funny because there were definitely some songs that I had wanted to put on the playlist but didn't (I didn't want to overwhelm him with too many), but throughout the night he would play some songs and every single time I was like "omg I love this song! I know I didn't add this to the playlist, but this is exactly what I like!" He did such a great job, everyone had a blast and said the music was so fun. We also added CO2 guns last minute and they were a hit. 100000/10 recommend adding those. We loved our experience with DJ Drew as our wedding DJ! Soundwave also worked with us through two different pandemic postponements until we finally got to have our big party, so we appreciate them a lot for that. DJ Drew was totally awesome. He used the playlists we'd made to illustrate our music taste and adhered to all of our requests (like "no country music" LOL except for "Man, I Feel Like a Woman" obviously). Additionally, I had a surprise video planned for my husband, whose best man and two of his groomsmen couldn't attend the wedding, and Drew adapted with this last-minute request perfectly, as I had to have a friend explain the surprise and help him set it up to be played during the speeches portion of our reception. When the projector I brought to play the videos didn't work, Drew was able to play them on his DJ booth screen instead, which ended up being even better since our sweetheart table was directly across from him. It was a wonderful touch! The rest of Soundwave's equipment was also top notch--the mics, speakers, lights, etc. all worked perfectly and he MC'd the night very well, with great energy and zero "hiccups" when it came to pronouncing names or announcing things to our 100-person wedding. He really did an absolutely awesome job and made the dancing portion of the evening the most memorable, with so many guests telling us afterwards that they've never danced so much at a wedding before. Where do I begin? SoundWave Productions was worth every single penny spent. We worked with Kyle as our DJ and Vince as our MC. We also added CO2 Cannons and Sparklers to the wedding. CO2 cannons and Sparklers...boy oh boy, worth the hype, worth the photo op, and worth the experience. Let's get down to business though. Kyle and Vince were the hype! They definitely got the crowd going and got everyone involved. The music choices were exactly what we wanted and more. Kyle did experiment out of our spotify list, but it was in the same genre that everyone had an amazing time. You can see based on the photos that they managed to keep the dance floor FULL! Every single person complimented on how fun the night was and how no one wanted to leave. We had a full house the entire night. Vince was even able to get my musical chairs game to be full of contestants. It was a very competitive game. Even during our interview/walkthrough, Kyle and Vince asked very detailed questions about the timeline to make sure that they had A-Z figured out. They were both very fun and very personable. I would definitely get both of them again, the dynamic duo. Kyle was more of an EDM type and definitely gave us a rave kind of night in the last hour. We found Soundwave Productions through the Pasadena Bride World Expo in 2019. There, we met Michael Sprague, an MC and event host for the company. We really liked Michael's confidence, charm, and composure. We would describe his style as clear and direct. He isn't the kind of MC who tries to steal the spotlight from the bride and groom by trying to be too funny or over-the-top. He is well-spoken, clean, and professional. Later, at an in-person meeting at their Anaheim studio, we met Jake Magness, the DJ who works with Michael. Jake is a talented artist who has a background in the EDM and club scene. This was perfect for us because we wanted our reception to be lit! After meeting the duo, we felt so sure about them that we signed the paperwork as soon as we got home. Soundwave was one of the first vendors we actually booked! Unfortunately, like many couples, we decided to postpone our November 2020 wedding to September 2021 due to the pandemic. Soundwave was very understanding during this time. Chris Berry, the owner, didn't hesitate to reschedule us without any penalty or fee. We made a few compromises due to the fact that we changed from a Saturday to Sunday, but after some emails, we came to a conclusion and both parties were happy. Overall, we had a great wedding night. Michael did an amazing job at setting up the lighting, and Jake was phenomenal at keeping everybody on the dance floor. We first met Soundwave at our wedding venue's "wedding show," which was essentially an event with a bunch of potential vendors with booths. We were instantly attracted to Soundwave's booth due to the CO2 cannons they were pumping out, creating a party/concert-like effect. Checked out their pricing and seemed very reasonable. Checked out their reviews and seemed overwhelmingly positive. We reached out to Chris and asked for more details and he was very responsive and helpful, so they really showed everything we were looking for in a vendor and we decided to go with them! The process from start to finish was EXTREMELY organized. You get to browse their website and choose your DJ based on your personal music/style interest, and we just chose Chris Berry since we had met him at the wedding show and he seemed like a really fun DJ. A couple months before your wedding, they'll reach out to you and ask you to go to their super-organized and easily navigated site to choose songs for all the important sequences of your wedding. About a month before your wedding, you'll have your consultation meeting with your DJ and go over the timelines and everything to ensure everything is correct. The wedding itself was so smooth and seamless. Chris had a great energy and was a great DJ and host with introductions and such the whole night. 2/16/2020 Wedding I had the fun task of finding my wife and I's DJ and lighting for our special day. Found SoundWave Productions through our wedding venue's recommended list for DJ/Lighting set-up. Well once I went on their official website and started contacting SoundWave I knew they were top notch and offered great customer service. We had the pleasure of working with Chris Berry. All our appointments and conversations on approaching the ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception went very well and Chris understood our vision and how much we dug music. Also the lighting samples he showed us in-person blew us away and we upgraded immediately. Well the end product that SoundWave and Chris provided were amazing and took the beautiful Casino San Clemente to another level. He showed up in a sharp outfit and was a legit professional start to finish. The pre-ceremony had our lovey playlist mixing, the ceremony had ace transitions, cocktail hour he worked well with our live mariachi, was a constant appropriate hype man, Formation remix for bouquet toss was dope, and the best parts our first dance and dance party! Seriously our first dance we went a little unconventional and did slow into upbeat tune by surf rockers Best Coast. Chris approached it with some cool uplighting color switches. And the closing dance session was a fun filled house like party rager! The floor kept up all night. We are talking hip-hop, pop, latin, rock, EDM, modern hits, classics, and some wedding staples. We had DJ Wil service our wedding and I thought he did an awesome job. We had a lot of activities planned and we were on a timeline to get it all done before our photographers session was up! He kept the timeline pretty close together and in the end everything worked out great! Before our wedding weekend we tried to meet up a few times. The problem is that they are extremely busy and booked and we were not local to Orange County so it was a little difficult to set up a meeting time and place to go over our timeline. In the end, we did an hr Skype session with Wil and it worked out great! All taken care of in the comfort of our home hah! Either way, I would recommend this service to others! My now husband and I were searching for a great DJ for our wedding. We knew it was important to find a great one who would be an awesome MC and play great music. We searched and found SOUNDWAVE! We originally thought we'd go with Chris but when we learned he was booked we began listening to all the live mixes. We read up on the experiences of all the DJs and after listening to them all we knew WE HAD TO CHOOSE DJ WIL. The forms on the website make it so easy to get things filled in. Like first dance song, mother/son & father daughter & more. When we had our phone call with Wil he was very detailed and super cool to talk to! Let it be known he's an expert in his field! The wedding day was amazing! He arrived dressed the part as our dress code was formal attire. He nailed it as an MC and kept everything flowing so well. The music transitions were a huge deal for us and he NAILED every single one. Our wedding was at Falkner Winery in Temecula. Cocktail hour, the dinner and a lil dancing took place in the reception garden and DJ Wil kept it tasteful with all generations on the dance floor. At 10pm we moved locations to the restaurant per winery rules and DJ Wil brought the PARTY! Even then, alllll generations were still on the dance floor! Even with some requests from our family and friends he managed to play all that we had hoped for! My husband and I were told Wil looked sharp and played great music all throughout the night. We were asked where we found this DJ and were told we had a very classy wedding! We attribute most of that to Wil and can't thank him enough for our classy yet ragging wedding with the bride dancing on tables and groom being thrown into the air! Chris was the DJ recommended to us by our wedding planner. He was fantastic! Honestly, I'm not a big dancer, but he did such a great job reading the room. Lots of guests came up to me after the wedding and told me how much they loved Chris' DJ style. HOW IT WORKS: You can preview some of the DJs on the site and ask to interview with the ones who match your vibe best. You then have a short phone call with them. Once you've chosen your DJ they set you up with the client portal where you fill out all the music picks. Super easy to use and organized. Chris also has tons of suggested music options, so if you have no idea where to start, he'll help you out. Chris was really nice and flexible when we had to postpone our wedding. I know COVID hit the wedding industry bad, but he was so nice about it. It made it a little easier on us since we were just as sad to postpone. read more
