What can i say aside of MAJOR DISAPPOINTMENT?? If this truly the best here in valley then holy moly do we have a problem. The nursing staff need to do quarterly training on hospitality and service. Majority of nurses here gossiped about personal topics like there was no tomorrow. This was noted in the pre-surgery prepping area, ICU and out into the non emergency rooms. By the way it apparently takes like 4 hours to book a room for a patient. Not one nurse told me I would be waiting all day. So here is my full experience. Had to be at hospital at 5am, checked in and was in prepping room for surgery in 15 mins, so far so good u til we had to wait until 7:30 until finally beginning surgery. Wheeled off past surgery doors at 7:40am. What was supposed to be a 3 hour surgery turned into a whole day thing. Finally finished surgery at around 3pm and got an ICU room at 7:30pm.. The nurses switching shifts between day and night rarely say hello and just go about their work like no one else exist, but when they leave the room they love talking their ears and getting lost in personal conversations, very noisy for ICU!! Also some guys don't really know how to handle women and put on support items very awkwardly and as such leave patient feeling physically uncomfortable because the support item is placed all wrong and patient cannot adjust item.. like dudes that is not how you put on a bra, skin got cinched with bands and left welts/bruising on skin from things being pinched! Nurses took too long to arrive after being called. Up to 15 minutes and do not cone back to check on patient after saying they would. Needed assistance with bathroom and nurse left though she said she would be right outside. Gone for like two hours! The food was terrible, it tasted like the smell of dog food and nutritionist didnt even read notes about liquid diet and served minced meat that would be spat right back out because throat closed.. RIP. The hospital is freezing and sometimes nurses come to check on tubing and forget to completely cover with blanket.. just little things overlooked and it pretty annoying as I'm sure if it were their own family member they would give their all. Not enough parking.. need to build a parking garage seriously..! Overall disorganized and nurses need to have better communication, so they wont have to promise patients different things and turn up empty at all ends. Wish that there is more training for them, maybe can go to training school quarterly??

The Ronald McDonald ROOM has almost everything that a parent would want: washer/dryer, restroom with shower, bedrooms to take a nap, kitchen and kitchen seating, a computer, and a living room with comfortable couches and television. Many volunteers help the room's leader Jorge Barrientos! Winter Texans often donate children's blankets, and many others donate stuffed animals, small toys, children's books and more that a parent(s) can take back to his/her child that is staying in the hospital. Anyone can donate items, from toiletries to food to toys, for the parents or children. A great cause! Everything is free to parents! From shampoo, soaps, towels, food, coffee and sodas, etc are donated. This is their room to relax and get away if they are unable to return home for the day. Remember the room is open from 8:00a.m. to 9:00p.m. Wonderful and PEACEFUL area for any parent of a sick child here at the Edinburg Children's Hospital whether you come in for a minute, an hour or more as needed.

Like oh I have to explain her" ,but I wanna say for the exemption of two nurses I remember their names Galilea totally different I event thought she was an advanced nurse or something because she was really nice explaining everything I was like where you been looks like she's likes her profession and besides so young Iam assuming the others are tired of same thing over and over hey don't know, also this other one Crystal she was very nice as well kind of like the first one when doing the vitals interacted with my baby making him to calm to laughed , also shout it to the janitors very humble and respectful totally different to the ones that have study and a degree!

If I could give this 0 stars I would, before I was an employee I gave birth to my first child here…read more They told me NOT to push which I know for a fact if a baby is ready to come out it's coming out! Their staff is inexperienced tend to do things without your knowledge. And also. Very poor communication amount the staff, repeatedly had to explain myself... On an ex employee prospective, I had an issue with a manager I escalated the issue to HR. And nothing was done. also was told told that if the tension between manager and I was an "uncomfortable situation " I had the option to transfer to a different department, and was told I had to apply. I was not going to be placed! I had to give a 6 week leave of absence or 2 weeks notice with my pro being able to pay one week. Everyone is a Hypocrite, and will say they will HELP but don't! Also manger called me out on my wrong doings infront of everyone and called that out to HR and nothings was done! They are NOT there for employee they are there for a Damn check! Everyone who is a manager HR OR director Cover each others asses! DO NOT APPLY HERE! A lawsuit will be filed!! That's why they are always Hiring ITS NOT WORTH IT EVERYTHING IS YOUR FAULT NO ONE WANTS TO TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR THEIR WORK OR ACTIONS!!!!!!!! Ok

This hospital is VERY un organized! As far as there administrators go in my opinion! I pre…read moreregistered 1 WEEK! Ahead of my scheduled surgery date and get a phone call less than 24 hours before surgery saying i owe them a ridiculous dollar amount before they would operate! I have VERY good insurance with BCBS of Texas and they failed to check their internals from what I had already spent at their surgeons office and deduct that from my out of pocket on my deductible. They could have told when I spent the whole day a week before hand with a broken leg in the lobby that i was going to owe them more money which was fine but not less than 24 hours before they were to cut me open so I could properly prepare for it! Then it gets worse ! I went in had my surgery spoke with the anesthesiologist about general and having a nerve block he then proceeded to ask if I'd want it I said yes! Super friendly helpful guy Clint (great job) he said he'd would check with surgeon Sierra Torres about what was Going to be OK depending on the incisions for what nerve block was going to be used no complaints with him btw but after surgery when they brought out of anesthesia was in ALOT of pain nurses asked me repeatedly "can you move your toes?" Which I could at the time so I asked not 1, not 2, not 3, BUT FOUR (4) !! Different nurses at 4 different times if they ended giving a nerve block cuz I could feel EVERYTHING and nothing was numb or temporarily paralyzed and all 4 grabbed my file a binder looking thing went through it and said "No you only got general anesthesia and you didn't get no nerve block." I was just like well maybe surgeon didn't allow it or something which was fine but fast forward 4 hours after I left hospital and get home I couldn't move or feel anything from shin down so a little panicky at this point because THEY had previously asked if I could and now I couldn't! We proceeded to call hospital no answer after an hour we finally got ahold of someone and they said come back right now there could be complications! So in pain we loaded back up after having surgery that morning drove back to hospital and when we get there they had no clue why we were there and then sent us to ER to be re admitted!!!! So now I'm sitting a room packed full of sick people after having surgery that morning stressed because now my foot doesn't work and according to all my hospital records NO ONE there thought it was necessary to DOCUMENT WHAT WAS PUT INTO MY BODY! So there was nowhere on paper saying that they gave me a nerve block which is a huge needle into main nerve to shut it down after in case you don't know ... now sitting in ER for almost an hour someone finally got ahold of the surgeon which made everyone aware at that point "oh ya he got a nerve block..." long story short if I could have I woulda went to San Antonio or Houston to have a facility cut me open had I know what kind of operation is being run t In the valley... very disappointed and dissatisfied. Do your homework before you choose this hospital! I hope all the "uppers" in administration are reading this to so you have an idea we're you are hospital leaders are failing at! CAN NOT BELIEVE A HOSPITAL WOULD NOT PROPERLY DOCUMENT OR COMMUNICATE BETWEEN ALL DEPART HEADS TO DOCUMENT WHAT THEY DID OR PUT INTO A PATIENTS FREAKN BODY! Imagine if it was something else that would counter with another drug that was administered and reacted negatively and resulted differently or death even! Who knows if they don't even know what the put in me!! If I could give ZERO stars I would
