I wanted to look and feel my best, and unfortunately that didn't happen here. I arrived on time, had sent my inspiration photos to the salon ahead of time (as advised), and came prepared with very clear reference images for a simple, messy mid-height bun with volume and some hair framing my eyes. I have fine hair and know it needs teasing and hairspray (I even do a simple version of this style myself) so nothing I asked for was unrealistic. My stylist, Deana, seemed distant and unfriendly from the moment the appointment started. I even had to ask her name five minutes in. The energy felt off from the beginning. About halfway through I turned my chair around to get a look, and my heart dropped. The front looked flat, unflattering, and nothing like the inspiration photos. When I politely and gently tried to give feedback, she was very cold and passive-aggressive. Even the client and stylist next to us picked up on the tension. She told me she "couldn't do" what I asked for, which was confusing because it was a very standard up-do. The appointment was booked for an hour, yet she rushed through it in about 30 minutes and immediately moved on to her next client. It felt incredibly rushed and uncomfortable. When I went to check out, the lovely stylist at the front saw I was upset, took one look at my inspiration photos, and honestly told me that my hair needed a lot more teasing and shouldn't have been done that way. She kindly sat me down and tried to fix it, but unfortunately there wasn't enough time because I had to get to my makeup appointment. Despite the rushed service and the visibly poor result, my stylist offered me only $5 off of the $90 price...and then asked how much I wanted to tip. Given the situation, that felt extremely inappropriate and uncomfortable. The bun itself was cute from the back, but the front looked flat, unfinished, and already had pins falling out. Even I (not a professional) could tell the lack of teasing and hairspray made it impossible for the style to hold or have enough volume. Thankfully, when I arrived at Charlotte Tilbury for my makeup appointment, the team there immediately noticed and felt terrible for me. One of their artists who used to be a professional hairstylist graciously redid my entire up-do from scratch for free, and made me look absolutely beautiful for my big day!!! They said that what I was asking for as inspiration was indeed possible and straight forward to achieve. I'm so grateful for them! It's a shame because the other stylists at Blo Blow Dry Bar seemed friendly and were creating gorgeous styles on their clients. But my own experience was rushed, unprofessional, and shockingly uncomfortable. Unfortunately, I won't be returning.

When I arrived I met Claudia who not only had a beautiful warm personality, but knew exactly what to do for my makeup. My shoot was for Rachel Roy swimwear and after explaining the colors of the suit she went to work and created and absolutely perfect look for an outdoor swimsuit shoot. I find her highly skilled as she took into account the environment and used this to change products so to have a look that lasted. Not only did the look last, but it was one of those times you get your makeup done and you say, "do I have to wash it off!!" I loved my makeup that much!!! When I arrived, I really had no clue what I wanted - stylist's nightmare, I'm sure. I had had long hair for so long, I couldn't picture myself with any other hairstyle. After clipping off the bleached ends of my mane, Alissa shampooed and conditioned while we chatted a bit about life. (Note, water did make its way down my neck and back during this experience) Alissa had suggested layers framing my face and the rest of my hair - my only concern was I wanted to maintain some length, which she reassured me I would. Snip snip away! 45 minutes and a styling blow dry later, my head was so much lighter. It was crazy. Well, according to friends, it's still long, but I feel the difference. And it feels so strong and healthy. After about 2 weeks, I'm finally used to the feel of the layers. The only note that I had was the location - if your GPS tells you to U-turn at the light, do not! You want to left turn and then turn left again, following the road back until you see a two-story strip mall. It's an awkward location, and in the evening, there is very little lighting around the building and the stairwells. Nonetheless, I'm pleased with my experience at FeNom, and with Alissa. They sent reminder texts to confirm my appointment, and were very accommodating. If you let FeNom know Stacy referred you, we both get a percentage off our services!

The first time I went to YOP salon, I was quoted $60 for hollywood waves hairstyle after sending…read morereference photos in advance and confirming with Jony Bustamente that he could do the look. Instead, he had the hair washer do my hair and after she styled me, my brand-new extensions (used only once prior) were burned and destroyed beyond repair, the hairstyle requested was not completed, and the back of my hair was left in a tangled, matted mess. When I requested my hair be fixed, Jony Bustamente and his staff were completely dismissive and rude. Reluctantly, because this salon was one of the few open on a Sunday, I reached out again directly to Jony, sending him photos and clearly described my hair type and requested Hollywood waves again. I was quoted $75 if I arrived with dry hair, $85 with a blowout. I asked him why it was 75 and not 60 like the last quote I had, with the same requested hair-do and he claimed it was higher because it was a Sunday. When I arrived: *I was made to wait while the owner bleached another client's hair, despite telling him I was on a strict timeline for a wedding. *He was multitasking throughout my appointment, working on another client at the same time, not giving proper attention to complete my hair appointment. *It quickly became clear he did not know how to do the requested style. *The back of my hair was left severely tangled and matted, leaving me in extreme scalp pain, with chunks of hair teased off of my head, absolutely nothing like the reference photos. At the end, I was suddenly told the price was $100, despite the earlier agreed-upon quote. Due to his attitude and him locking his shop, I felt pressured and trapped into paying the up-charge in order to leave. My hair was left in terrible condition, including visible damage, holes where hair should be, excessive product buildup, and dandruff from his products, despite my hair being freshly washed, clean and treated earlier that day. To make matters worse, I received pestering and inappropriate messages from Jony Bustamente afterward. The fact that he was being nasty with me, trying to blame shift and gaslight me, instead of apologetic showed me that I will never go back to YOP Salon again. No hardworking American should be scammed like this and treated so badly. I saw how he selectively treats certain customers with disregard and disrespect, while sucking up to others. It's outrageous and disgusting! He is nothing but a fraud who takes advantage of unsuspecting customers and cozies up to others with no regard for time and cost. This experience showed a complete lack of professionalism, transparency, and respect for clients' time and boundaries. Pricing was not honored, services were misrepresented, and my hair was damaged--right before an important event. I would strongly advise avoiding YOP Salon. I would never return and would not recommend YOP Salon or Jony Bustamente to anyone. I will guarantee you that he will respond to this review, with more lies and gaslighting, to preserve his ego and continue his nastiness towards patrons. I also noticed his lower rating has been adjusted and negative reviews are hidden. I deserve a full refund, which Jony will not give me because his scam works for him. Avoid Jony Bustamente and YOP Salon at all costs!!! Total thieves.
