Very disappointed! I called before trying to visit this location and the gentlemen that answered the phone advised me to not come after 10:30p which was 30 mins before they closed. I arrived at 10:15p and knew exactly what I wanted but the lady (who was very friendly that was working today on a Friday evening) said she couldn't do it cause she has to closed and sterilize which takes long. She was going to accommodate me which I do appreciate (cause like I said I know what I want) but at that point I don't want to be that person that she HAD to help... I called an Uber to get to this location which is why I was so disappointed. I get that she needs to closed but if i was advised that in advance I would not have Uber there. In future please let customers know you can't take them if you plan on closing before they get there. Honestly this was probably a blessing in disguise cause my friends and I went to shaman (see my review) the next day. We dropped $1300+ on a couple of piercings and some beautiful jewelry there. I got my ear lobes pierced yesterday and they did a fantastic job. They immediately got me picking a set of earrings and were fast about the line. The staff member that pierced my ears (Leo) was fast, just in and out and didn't just put the needle through without asking, I was worried about this because of some things my friends said about their experiences at other places. I love that they do needle piercings instead of gun piercings. That apparently makes it heal quicker. The vibe is really nice and kid friendly. I would FOR SURE recommend this place. I haven't been to this establishment since 2016 but I was enthralled when I could make an appointment/walk-in request for a nostril piercing online. I did so as I parked a few streets away and I was contacted (weirdly) via email to set up the appointment. My piercing specialist was Jason and I could not recommend them any more! I took myself and two other people to get piercings for my birthday and the experience was just as great as when I went back in 2021. We were all pierced by Nate this time and he was seriously fantastic! He clearly knew his stuff and was great at helping myself and my other companions decide where to pierce and talked us all through the process. Everything was sterile and the process was straightforward and comfortable. The aftercare was well explained and I feel confident caring for my piercings. He took into consideration the anatomy of my ears and found some really cool places to pierce, i personally got a conch and upper helix. The other peeps I was with got their seconds, and the other their thirds. If you're thinking of getting a piercing I would highly recommend going here. Walked in on a Monday night. Already knew what piercings I wanted and Lillian was quick to help me out. I got my 3rd and 4th lobe piercings in both ears and my Tragus on my right ear. My first ear piercing I got when I was young, but my second piercing I had gotten a few years ago. I went somewhere where they used a piercing gun, and I remember it hurt a-lot more than I expected and it had trouble healing. So based off that I was nervous to get 5 piercings all at once. Lillian sterilized everything and showed me. She talked me through everything she was doing. The needle hurt a lot less than the piercing gun and it was all over before I knew it. Listen up. If you are looking to get pierced literally anywhere, Andy is your man. I wish I could give more than 5 stars. I have 17 piercings, and I went in to get my tongue pierced, and let me tell you, I have never been more comfortable in my life. Andy is welcoming and makes sure you know exactly what is happening step by step. And his voice y'all! His voice is the most calming, soothing sound that will ever bless your ears. I was very nervous, but the whole process was so smooth and I barely even felt the needle going through my tongue. You can tell that Andy knows what he's doing, and I am never getting anything pierced by anyone other than him. If I move away from Austin and want to get something pierced, it will have to wait until I am back in town. The shop itself is small and comfortable, extremely clean and Andy sanitized all the materials right in front of me. It takes a few minutes, but it's worth it for clean equipment! I took my 6 year old to get her ears pierced at Diablo. Andy was amazing! He explained the sterilization process and aftercare in great detail. He asked for my daughter's consent and when she got scared and said "no" he immediately backed off and said he wouldn't do anything without her consent! He was very good at keeping her calm the whole time - talking her through it but also distracting her with questions about things like her favorite ice cream. Gill did my second lobe and was great. Funny, professional, great bedside manner, explained a lot about placement and kept checking in to make sure I was sure. The piercing studio is super clean; it's like going back into a little doctor's office. They take sanitation very serious. Honestly, my only complaint is that I can't figure out who the tattoo artists are at this location, or what they specialize in, because it's not on their website and there are only three portfolios to look through on the desk? But I've definitely seen reviews mention other names?? Have those folks just moved on, or do they sometimes have guest artists in the shop??? 3/22/22: Broke my earring (on the one hand, bummer, but on the other hand, SUPER GLAD it broke instead of ripping out of my ear), so I took it in and they replaced it, at no charge. :) Awesome! read more

Well I didn't realize that posting a review for my friend was going to discredit the review. I was there with her as her companion to get pierced. Additionally, I don't think that knocking(a totally normal knock, not a "bang") on the door when we were unaware that we were supposed to wait outside for someone to come get us (for some reason this silly policy is in effect, probably bc they are taking advantage of the health concerns that were posed in 2021) would cause us to be "self entitled brats". We were not in contact with the piercer, and didn't think he answered the door out of the kindness of his heart. I have gone to both locations for multiple piercings in the past and last night I got pierced by Nate. What I love about Diablo is that they will walk you through the piercing every step of the way! They truly care about their customers and will fully let you know whether or not the piercing you are wanting will go right with your anatomy or not and if there is any chance you're body will reject it, to me this says ALOT about their company! I got my kids' ears pierced at Diablo Rojo and I cannot rave enough about what a fantastic experience we had. Although it was a very long wait and that is typical (plan to go a few hours before they close to even get in!) and you *have to have your id and the kids' birth certificates*, it is so worth it. We worked with Kate and Gill and they were both extremely warm, fun, friendly, and emotionally intelligent about validating the kids' nerves and excitement. Gill did the piercings and treated the kids with the utmost respect, acknowledging that he constantly needed THEIR consent and trust (not just mom's) to do this safely and well. He walked them through every step and explained he would never trick them and they were so relaxed because of the dignity and clarity he provided them. Such a pro. I was in Austin with my husband and had been wanting to get a tattoo. Found Diablo Rojo here on Yelp and saw the work that the artists do. Absolutely love that the owner holds people accountable when they feel entitled. Says a lot about the passion and values that a business has. So, I stopped by. Make sure that you have a face mask on! This business cares about their team and customers. Door is locked, so ring that doorbell. Alejandro answered the door and I explained what I was interested in getting. I had originally wanted to get a dreamcatcher and I hadn't really picked one out or had a picture of what I was interested in....basically I didn't come prepared. I did, however, see an interesting eagle with flames on one of their displays. After I came in, Alejandro pointed out that I could also check out his work in a couple of books he had on the counter. He has beautiful work! I like his use of lines. I came about this dragon and asked him about it. He had already done the artwork on a customer, but he did say that he could do the Eagle using his interpretation. Of course, I couldn't say no. He drew it out and I loved it! The stars and sun weren't in the original drawing and he added them as I was being inked. I'm glad he did, it really added this beautiful touch. So nice to see the passion Alejandro has in his work. Overall, loved this! Wish I lived in Austin, but I will definitely want to get more done in my next visit. read more

I stopped by today hoping to get my septum pierced. There was only one guy upstairs, and without explaining, said 'i'm not doing septums' a few times in a rude tone. I asked if anyone else was available to do the piercing, and he says 'i don't know, maybe this evening', and again says 'i'm not doing septums'. I say, 'can i ask why?' and he says he did a bad one the day before. This is understandable, my friend is a an apprentice piercer and I can understand if a piercer just feels they're uncomfortable and they don't want to do a bad job. But he didnt try to help me, didnt look at a schedule to let me know what time would be best, take my name or anything, and I just found his behavior really unprofessional and impersonable and I felt could've been handled better. I've never written a review before but because Andy was so kind and nice, I decided to do it! I can't say enough positive things about Andy. I had my philtrum pierced at Platinum Ink about 1.5 months ago, and recently some major hypertrophic scarring developed around the inside of the piercing. When I went back to Platinum Ink to have them look at it, the guy didn't even bother to tell me what to do -- all he said was "There's not much to do at this point, getting a longer bar would irritate it more so just see what happens." Well, the very next day (today) I woke up and the area swelled up even more and the scarring got bigger too. So after dropping off my partner at work, I pulled up the nearest piercing shop that was open and it was Diablo Rojo. Immediately Andy was able to help me by figuring out the correctly sized jewelry I needed and talked me through the aftercare process (something I didn't get at Platinum Ink). Even though Andy didn't pierce me, he still treated me like a customer he's had already and told me to reach out to him if it doesn't get better in two weeks. It was definitely a little pricey, (the piercing fee isn't cheap and if your getting multiple it really adds up), but you certainly get the quality you pay for. My sister and I went in to the Guadalupe location yesterday to get our nipples pierced, naturally we where nervous to have a male piercer but Nate was so respectful and professional. He walked us through every step with explanations and reassuring comments. He was very precise lining up the ink, he was an absolute perfectionist and the quality shows. He was a great conversationalist which made the whole experience really comfortable and fun. He communicated everything he was going to do before he did it and I felt total trust in him. After having the first piercing done I felt a wave of nausea and he had excellent bed side manor, he asked me if I needed a break or water.
