Me and a couple of friends were going out on Sixth Street on a Friday night when we walked by this tattoo shop. It was until 2am and located in the heart of Sixth Street, I think they knew what they were doing with this. One of my friends goes "Let's get a spontaneous tattoo!!" and so we ended up going in. There were only a few people ahead of us when we walked in so it was about a 15 minute wait for two of us. They accept both walk-ins and appointments. I wanted a rocketship tattoo for a while but I wasn't really sure what specific design I wanted. They were super helpful with the whole idea process. This was my first tattoo so I didn't really know what to expect and I hate needles with a passion. My tattoo artist Bobby made the whole experience great and made sure the process went well for me. He also gave me really useful tips for aftercare. I definitely recommend this place if you're a first timer or if you're just looking to add to your collection. The place was kept really clean and the service was awesome.

From the moment I walked in I felt welcome and heard. The manger at the front walked me through the process and pricing for what I wanted and introduced me to my artist. He was just as amazing and my work came out great.

What a wondrous establishment of ink! I'd originally adjourned to All Saints Tattoo a stones throw across the road, but their prices were dubious. Nearly $100 above that of this fine place! Upon entering the Sacrament, I was immediately struck with the awesome feeling of being in a true craftsman's hall. Adorned with unique arts and Zeus's own view into the working tables, I was set at ease. My piece was crafted in minutes and I was laid down gently to be the canvas to permanent quill. I had attempted to ride a mortal's "skateboard" and ripped apart my Achilles Heel (a common ailment after Achilles brought the weakness upon us Gods), so I had Sacrament's masters paint a broken board abreast my scar. Painless (presumably for mortals) and speedy, I was painted and the debt was paid in under 60 minutes.

I had the good fortune to work with Chris "Drts" Aragon on two separate pieces in the last two weeks (3 sessions; over 10 hours total), and man did he deliver! With 17 years of tattooing experience, I'm confident when I say there isn't a tattoo Chris couldn't do and do well. He's a hell of an artist who will work with you every step of the way, on details big or small (layout and design; color decisions; shading style; line weight, etc), in order to ensure the tattoo you get is exactly what you want and your experience is a good one. As for the shop, it's super clean, and everyone on staff is incredibly friendly. If you have an idea, give Sacrament a call or check out the artists' work and hit them up directly. You won't be disappointed.

I got my first tattoo ever here as a walk-in, and I regret getting it. The color was very blotchy when I first got it, and the artist forgot to add the depth detail (where it was supposed to be shiny). I asked for a touch-up. The artist was very receptive and understanding -- he offered to do it for free. After the second session, my tattoo is still blotchy and uneven. In addition, I now have an unwanted tattoo scar that probably won't go away. The artist was super cool and personable; But I had to drive 4 hours from a different city for a touch-up and still have an underwhelming tattoo and a tattoo scar. I will be scheduling a rework with another artist somewhere in a few months, but she advised that the scar probably will be there for a long time.

If you're looking for a good tattoo shop in Austin Texas, look no further. I have gotten a couple great pieces from Hunter Wilson at Sacrament tattoo. The location is convenient - downtown on sixth Street, the shop is clean with some great tunes bumping, laid back vibes and even better artwork. I cannot recommend Hunter Wilson enough. I'm looking forward to coming back to get more work done. Do yourself a favor and stop in for your next piece.

Called in, but due to COVID-19, they were limiting the number of people in the shop. We called a couple of hours later and a few people were done getting there Taft, so we just decided to pop in. Elmo was the only one working, and luckily he was able to take us as the last customer (which was nice, so he didn't have to rush). Honest and welcoming. Appreciated his thought towards our ideas on our tattoos. My sister and I love our tattoos and wouldn't mind coming back next time we're here.

I came with a reference to show to them, something big, but very easy to make. I have friends who do tattoos and all of them told me that any decent tattoo studio would do that pretty easy since que draw is pretty basic, just big dots and thick lines. So the guy in charge introduce me Pablo who was the guy who did my tattoos (one and each arm). The guy didn't do the dots circular like they had to be, he didn't do the lines straight and with the same wide it should be, he put so much strength that the ink went to over the traces. After that he put so bad a plastic to protect it that came out less that an hour after I left the studio. And it was double the price I would pay in a decent studio where my friends work

I got a tattoo done on September 24th of 2020 and I'm very disappointed on how it turned out i remember the session being particularly painful but not thinking much of it as you can see on the picture I have scarring and blowout I don't know how to get this fixed, I've tried to reach out to the shop a couple of times through the phone but haven't been able to talk to anyone my husband got the exact same tattoo in all black and his is perfectly fine. If anyone can help me with a way to fix or deal with the scarring I would appreciate it

Not at all happy with how my tattoo came out, it's blotchy, crooked, and the font is ugly. Super disappointed considering how painful and expensive it was. Maybe it varies by artist but highly regret getting tatted here.

I have a sister who comes to visit a lot and I love it. On her last trip with work colleagues, it was decided tattoos were needed to commemorate the visit. Sacrament is so close to my apartment and they're known for stellar work. So...off we went! The shop is extremely clean and the artists take it seriously. Decorated as you'd expect a tat shop to be. The tattoo artists are so talented and take the time to get your design just right whether you're getting flash work or an intricate piece, they treat all customers with the same attention and care to detail. I had a great experience here with Chris. I initially popped in for a piercing but Chris was so helpful with recommendations and had a great vibe that I ended up getting a small piece I'd been thinking of and it turned out great. We collaborated on a sketch and in no time the stencil was on and done. Hardly felt a thing and the second skin they put on afterwards for healing is a game changer. Funny enough, I came across Sacrament Tattoo on Saturday night. My boyfriend and I had just got to 6th St. for drinks, and as we were walking by Sacrament I was like, "Wanna get tattoos?" There was a random dude standing outside, and he said, "DOOOO IT!" It's safe to say I'm not good with peer pressure We walked right in and they had open artists ready to tat! We both picked out some art from their flashes, and literally got started right away!! I ended up getting tattooed by Pablo. Literally love this dude. He was so kind, and we told them to work quickly so we could start drinking LOL. Pablo did an AMAZING job. During the tattoo, he worked so efficiently and he didn't have a heavy hand, which is always a plus. I would 1000% come back JUST for Pablo!! My tattoo healed up incredibly well and retained the amazing colors/shades Pablo used. The shop itself is very clean, large working spaces, and a great vibe on 6th. Highly recommend this spot if you're looking for a tattoo in Austin!! read more

They take walk-ins although it is a wait the day we went. We had a 2-3 hour wait and they told us upfront which we truly appreciated so we can do our shopping. They called to let us know about 3 hours later that we were next which gave us time to return to the studio. I love how quick and painless it was. I was on a girls' trip to ATX with some pals and we all wanted to get tattoos together. We originally went to a different ship but after getting the estimate of a small peach tattoo, I wanted to check how much it would be at other places. Sacrament was conveniently across the street so I walked over and was greeted by a friendly face and the smell of incense. The price was significantly better so I put my name on the waiting list. I love a good spontaneous tattoo, but not all shops that take walk ins would earn 5 stars from me. Sacrament definitely did! It isn't what you would expect from a 6th street tattoo shop. They did a great job of making the shop feel cozy, and the aesthetic is great. They even offer complimentary drinks which I've never received during a walk in session. Chris was a gem! Even though I did not get tattooed by him, he's got excellent customer service, and all around a great personality--all good vibes at the tattoo shop. I got tattooed by Scott, visiting artist, and the experience was great. Filled out all the necessary forms, discussed after care thoroughly, and honestly, so far the best tattoo I have ever gotten. Their place is loaded with art, merch, the cutest pup and a tasteful playlist, from Kanye to Chente. 10/10 recommend these dudes and this place. Can't wait to go back for another! read more

It was my husbands first tattoo ever and we did not have a good experience. You think as his first they would talk him through the process and make him feel less nervous but they didn't talk at all. I couldn't go back there so he went through it on his own. The tattoo was CROOKED and the man did not have a good attitude nor was he friendly. Horrible first experience. And there was no excuse as we were the only ones in the shop. Then the wrap fell off of his tattoo as we were walking to our car. Horrible experience. Find somewhere where the people are nice and friendly and give you a good first experience. read more

This is the only place I go to get tattoos. The owner, Barry, does amazing work and he has a great staff. I have gotten 4 tattoos here and my girlfriend has gotten two. The shop is incredibly clean and well lit. I wouldn't even consider going elsewhere. The pricing is completely reasonable. You should go there. read more

Base rate of $80 which is very reasonable! The tattoo artist Barry was super nice! I was getting my first tattoo and he walked me through every step and took his time while also going fast enough so it didn't hurt too bad! The studio was very clean and the decor was so cool! A partnership born out of a sincere love of tattooing, theirs is a very on hand ownership with a collective 45 years experience. We take great pride in everything we do; from the smallest to the most involved large scale pieces. We are available for appointments as well as walk ins. Parking was an absolute nightmare so I would recommend taking a rideshare to get to this location. When someone talks about tattoo shops in Austin, All Saints is definitely one of those mentioned almost every time. The tattoo/piercing shop has wonderful reviews and a ton of happy patrons. The vibe in this space is very lowkey and homey. We were the first ones in for the day. My best friend and I wanted to get complementary tattoos. We only wanted three words in Seagram each with my best friend getting hers in black and me getting mine in red. We were told it would cost extra for red ink. Fine. After the woman working the front took the stencil print-outs to the artists, she came back and quoted us $200 each. What? We were shocked. I knew the tattoo wouldn't take more than 20-30 minutes and did not understand how my friend was quoted the same as me if "red is extra." Thus, I came to my own conclusion that pricing is completely random and up to the artist. I guess it's a game of luck? That being said, Carlos did a wonderful job on my tattoo and Hannah did a great job on my friend's. Carlos and I had a lot to talk about as we were raised in the same city and he went to my highschool while I was also in attendance. Wild stuff! Still, for what we got, I wouldn't have paid more than $150 + tip for this tattoo. There needs to be a length requirement or some rules and regulations for pricing (I know this is not easy). Just know you're getting very talented artists when you walk-in! Bring your wallet!

After looking at a lot of websites and reading a lot of reviews, I chose Mom's Tattoos and I'm glad I did. It's exactly the kind of place I like, with a relaxed vibe and incredibly friendly artists. I had a specific drawing I wanted replicated that looked deceptively simple but was in fact very challenging. I couldn't have asked for a better result than the tattoo I received by Roach. His artistry is top-level. On top of that, he's an incredibly nice guy. I wholeheartedly recommend him, and Mom's, for anyone looking for a welcoming, top-quality experience.

I came in with a basic fine line design i'd drawn (a "salt infinity" or an infinity symbol in dotted white ink), explained I was very familiar with white ink and wanted this tattoo in white ink and have for decades - they said absolutely not and gave me the same tired lecture I get whenever i want something inked in white: it will fade, it wont last, it will look like a scar. I have been thinking of this tattoo for as long as these guys have been alive. I know my skin and how it heals better than they do. I know what I want better than they do. It was very disappointing. As an artist myself, I understand an artist needs to enjoy their work and want their name on their work, but tattoos are mostly highly personal to the customer and you're doing a service for a customer - that's why tattooists get paid and don't pay the customer to ink their favorite designs on the customers body. Why is writing a name in black ink better than giving someone a super meaningful, deeply personal white ink design? I wasn't requesting a hate symbol, I wanted a reminder to trust myself - salt is known for purifying and protecting, infinity is eternal. Having a tattoo no one but me knows is there still serves its purpose for me. I'm still looking for someone who will work with me on this tattoo before I consider others. It was the first tattoo I ever wanted and I'm not doing any others until this one is done. The final insult: "come back when you really know what you want, we'll get it done".... Man I've wanted this since I was 9, I know EXACTLY what I want. Its been like 3 decades and hasn't changed. Other than that, the place had a cool vibe, was clean and the work looked well-done.

I wanted to have "him" with me in some way for the rest of my life... enter ZULU. I am a hairdresser, and a wonderful client of mine said to me one day as we were discussing tattoos, "there's nobody on earth I'd let tattoo me other than Zulu". This is HIGH praise coming from this particular woman, so I looked him up. As soon as I went to his website, I felt an energy that I can only describe as "this is it, this is my guy", I knew it immediately. Browsing through his work, I was blown away. His meticulous attention to detail is unmatched. He is an ARTIST of the highest degree. His website images don't do justice to the work- I don't think any picture of his work can do his art justice. You *have* to see it to believe it. I had a consultation with him, and shared with him images of things I liked, and things I'm drawn to, but mostly I wanted him to create it. Several days later, he sent me an image of what he came up with, and it was a slam dunk, just as I knew it would be. It took 3 sessions to complete, and it is a MASTERPIECE. I love the art on my forearm so much it's stupid. I get so much attention because it's so incredible. I even met Prince's band The Revolution, and they were blown away! Wendy and Lisa couldn't stop touching it! Anyway, you get my point, right? So here's another thing... Zulu himself is an amazing human being. He and I had the most wonderful conversations and now he's my friend forever. Choose Zulu as your artist and you'll have more than just a tattoo, you'll have a masterpiece.

So this past weekend was my first experience directly under the hand of Zulu. Since we visited a…read morefew months ago for him to work on my wife's back, he and I have been in contact about what I've had planned for the remainder of the sleeve on my right arm. Because I travel for 6 months of the year the remainder of our conversations have been via email and also a 30 minute FaceTime consultation while I was overseas in place of a telephone call. Khani (shop mgr/wife) has done a wonderful job throughout of keeping the flow going and making sure that Zulu was available to discuss issues with me as needed. Zulu spent a considerable amount of time prepping for our arrival this trip as I had provided a number of different pieces of Tibetan art work to use for reference on my arm. After the FaceTime consult he fully understood what I wanted and that he was also given full artistic license to do what looked right and would flow with what I already had on my arm. He is only the second artist I've aver talked to that immediately got my concept and was genuinely excited about doing the work I was requesting. This was first obvious to me when we originally visited, but once we had talked and he started the work on the final design, the true light came out in Zulu. I arrived about 15 minutes early to the studio and just sat while he continued to collect his thoughts and worked to get the various pieces setup. We started with a fitting of the largest piece that would be done which was a full incarnation of Mara in demon form. Zulu only needed to resize it once and then worked on the angle and layout on my forearm (which is not big in any way) however, he laid it out to allow for the rest of the piece around and on the back of my arm. Once we had it fully laid out he applied the initial stencil for Mara and then he got to work. Zulu uses a rotary gun to apply his tattoos (as does Pinky which makes for a soothing sound in the small space). The beauty of this style of application is that unlike a normal gun that basically hammers you throughout the process, the rotary is more like a smooth flowing motion. When you add this to the extremely delicate touch that Zulu has while tattooing it makes for the absolute most pleasurable experience I've had to date. There was literally no pain until about the last 10 minutes of the session. We took a total of 4.5 hours to do all of the outline work for my arm, the detail in person looks unlike any I previously thought possible from a tattoo. His classical art training comes out when he works and his chair side manor is beyond reproach. The music in the studio is also spot on allowing Zulu to get into his groove and produce the beginnings of a masterpiece. I say beginnings because I can't wait to come back to finish the color and shading in November. Bottom line: if you want something that is truly a masterpiece on you as the canvas...than Zulu is the person to do it for you. There is no longer a need for me to search out an artist for my other projects, Zulu has a client for life.

Sacrament Tattoo is bright, clean, and approachable boutique tattoo shop in the middle of "dirty 6th street". The shop is well maintained and the artists are talented in a wide variety of styles. In true Austin style, the shop supports local artists and has a rotating collection of original artwork for sale on the walls. Recently the shop also held a raffle to support a local children's charity. This is the kind of local business I like to support. I have had two tattoos from Sacrament. Elmo (Elmo_Little_Hands) who specializes in new-traditional styles (and also does amazing anime work) just completed a calf piece for me. It is an iconic piece that needed to be spot on perfect or it would be disastrous. Elmo nailed it and I couldn't be happier. Chris (Chrisdrtstattoo) is about to wrap up a 3/4 sleeve with chest and shoulder panels for me. It is the culmination of a 30 year goal I have had since seeing a Japanese styled sleeve in my youth. It has been around 30 hours under the needle and Chris has made magic on my skin. It is a neo-traditional Japanese themed piece which incorporates all components I was after in a more beautiful way than I ever imagined. Great shop, highly recommend! read more

I would highly recommend Sacrament Tattoo to anyone looking to get a new tattoo while in the Austin area! The place was clean. The staff were friendly, knowledgeable, and the prices were fair. The artists Dalton and J.T. took the time to bring the ideas my mom and I brought in to life. They take walk ins everyday. We went in around 1pm and were taken care of right away. J.T. did a beautiful job on a hummingbird and flower to commemorate my grandmother for my mom on her upper arm. Dalton did an exquisite job on the lotus added to my calf. Recently got a tattoo from Chris Aragon that took about 7 hours and couldn't be happier with they way everything went from the moment I got there. I'm a pretty introverted guy in general but Chris and Liz were so welcoming and kind. It was great talking to both of them and I really liked the way Chris and Liz treated me and my girlfriend the entire time. The tattoo shop itself is very relaxing and calming and helps a lot especially when you're sitting for a lengthy piece. The tattoo itself turned out fantastic and I could really see that Chris took his time to make sure everything was perfect. This is a super dope spot. I was in Austin visiting for a weekend and my girlfriend and I were looking to get a couple simpler tattoos. They were super cool and inviting when we walked in and we only had to wait about 30 mins for the guys to finish up with other people. Bobby Joe was super cool, I gave him an idea of what I wanted and he drew something up for me in about 15 minutes. I randomly found this place on Instagram and noticed that they do walk-ins. Chris was super helpful! My boyfriend and I walked in on St Patrick's day and he was more than welcome to help up determine the best design for our tattoos. The place was very clean and so modern and I felt in a safe space even though there were a ton of people outside on 6th St. My boyfriend was getting his first tattoo and he had so many questions. They're very willing to engage in conversation, have fair prices, talented artists, and have a very clean shop. I came in because my septum ring from hot topic (I know I'm dumb for buying cheap jewelry) was literally stuck in my nose unable to bend and come out. I went in and was immediately helped by the wonderful and beautiful Callie, she took it right out with no problem. For her to free my nose ring even though I didn't get it from there or get the septum piercing there, was amazing. I visited Sacrament Tattoo Parlor today, and after being here previously in December of last year, I can say that it has changed from good to amazing. I have had both Dylan and Barry tattoo me and each time I go I have been given every luxury you can have in a tattoo experience. I recently got my eyebrows micro bladed by Paris and was pleasantly surprised by how obsessed I am with them. I have very light, fine eyebrows and she has been building them while still keeping them very natural looking.
