My mom was depressed after finding out she had to spend yet *another* night in the hospital. I wanted to distract her and needed a Sutter Hospital delivery the same day. Their delivery person had already left, but Lisa was sympathetic and she and the owner were kind enough to make it happen. I really appreciated that. I Gave Diablo View Florist a $100 price point and said to just do their magic. My Mom was surprised with the flowers that night and was absolutely delighted! The arrangement was SO gorgeous that the nurses were talking about it at the nurses station and kept coming in to look and talk to my Mom. That says a lot as nurses see flowers all day, every day. :) A full 6 days later her bouquet was still perfect. 10 days later she had to pluck a few flowers out but they were still stunning. I called the florist and she apologized, saying they tried to deliver. The lady stated that I should've gotten an email stating they were trying to deliver - I never received anything. I let it slide because she assured me the arrangement would be the first thing delivery and it'll go out right when they open. I gave them an hour after opening and called - florist told me that it was on the truck and already out for delivery. I called my family member and they still did not receive anything. The flowers were delivered 7 hours after opening on the SECOND day. Not a reliable place and does not call to update you. I would recommend trying somewhere else that keeps you updated or calls the recipient to coordinate delivery options. read more

My mother recently passed, and after many years I returned to Diablo View Florist. Our family have been customers for generations. I sat down with Lisa and in detail went over photos and my specific request for a gravesite spray of flowers. When I arrived the day of the service, I cannot tell you how disappointed I was with the arrangement that had been delivered. It was completely opposite of anything I had discussed and shown Lisa. I contacted the florist at their email. The response was my complaint would be forwarded to Lisa as that is who met with me regarding the details of the arrangement. Lisa did email me and apologized for the mishap. I explained to her that not even one of the flowers I had asked for was present. I asked for white with purple. There was very little, and the arrangement was actually dark in color. The service had passed and I declined her offer for a redo. She also offered a refund which I accepted and told her I felt was warranted. I have never had any response of any kind from Diablo View Florist since. I cannot tell you how many orders my family has placed with Diablo View Florist for so many occasions, going back to the 1930's. We considered the previous owner, Mary Lou, a family friend. I really wanted to like this place because of how gorgeous the bouquets are on their website. I live really close but was out of town for my parents wedding anniversary and wanted to send something nice. I chose to order the Pop Of Lavender By BloomNation arrangement to be delivered. On their site they have 3 options ranging from standard to deluxe and premium. There are no photos giving the difference between each so I just got the premium because I wanted it to look exactly like the photo or better. I was left very disappointed unfortunately. The 3 stars are for the accommodations they did make for me. I emailed them the photos of my arrangement compared to the one on the website. My arrangement was missing the orchids. The delivery was made 11/11/22 and after just 1 week the flowers are already dying which is unusual for such an expensive bouquet. They did give me a partial refund and were very apologetic. Let me just begin this with: I'm a floral designer at a florist in Sacramento. So I'm familiar with working with flowers and building arrangements. Working in the florist industry, I know flowers can go out of stock/season and arrangements cannot guarantee it to look exactly the same as the photo. However, I just don't feel like the photo accurately represented what my mom received. I think the arrangement itself is nice but in no way does it look similar to what I wanted, I even specified lots of peachy colors and I just don't feel like that was taken into account. I have great respect for florists, designers and everyone else that goes into running a flower shop, I hope that this review can be taken as criticism and not a bad experience because it wasn't.
