She created 15 beautiful centerpieces, flowers for our golden arch, flowers for our seating chart and welcome sign, flowers for our cake, 9 bridesmaid bouquets, my bridal bouquet, the groomsmen and grooms boutonnière, and our parents and godparents boutonnières and corsages. It was the morning of March 8th...International Women's Day. I planned to get my wife flowers, but somehow the day rolled around, I hadn't planned ahead and was empty handed. We are new to Brentwood, and I hadn't yet found my "go to" florist. It was a red alert situation, so I searched Yelp, stumbled upon Ribbons & Roses, and so glad I did! Diane answered first thing in the morning and gave me a rundown of her offerings, short stem vs long stem, asked me questions about what my wife might like, and cherry on top, said it could be ready in just a few hours. I stealthily snuck out of the house at lunchtime to pick up the flowers at their shop in downtown Brentwood. The arrangement was simply stunning and exceeded my expectations. Diane the owner was very nice at the beginning and offered to help us with decoration ideas as well so we payed everything upfront. Our order included several flower baskets for the tables, the bride's bouquet and the groom's boutonniere. The day comes and Diane delivered the flowers but we were SHOCKED the flowers were all old and not fresh at all! I attached pictures. The flowers were so old that the leaves were falling off! When we asked these are old! Diane denied that they were old! We paid this store a lot of money but we got scammed big time! Beware of "designers choice" this option means they choose what they have and apparently what they like, which in my case pretty much disregarded what I chose online. To add , I chose the deluxe option as an upgrade. I'm very disappointed with what was delivered for the occasion ( also selected from sympathy and funeral section)which was for my family members who lost their mother. I wanted something subtle in color and delicate. I received the opposite. I never yelp review because it's too time consuming; however, I felt it was necessary. By no means am I calling the arrangement ugly, it's not appropriate for the occasion nor what I was expecting. I immediately called and the lady upfront was defensive and irritated. I had my wedding in July of this year at Newberry Estates and I still look back at the amazing pictures by Discovery Bay Studios in awe of my GOREGOUS flowers that Diane put together for me. She did more then just a good job, she met with me several times as I was very specific in what I wanted but wasn't picky on flower choices.I did have a budget and as most people who are just getting married you have no idea what to expect in pricing, although I did pay a little more then what we budgeted it was worth every penny. All I can say is Wow! I was introduced to Diane by my fabulous wedding coordinator Renee Bragg from La Grande Wedding and I do have to say that I am rolling with the "cream of the crop"! My Fiancé and I needed floral arrangements for our wedding set for next month, and made the well-worth trek from Hayward to Brentwood to see this passionate lady and I have to say that we are so pleased we did! Diane spent nearly two hours explaining the various types of roses and elegant compliments that it can have if arranged properly. When she gave us an up close and personal, on the spot demonstration on the numerous types of blissful floral arrangements that she could display, we were both truly mesmerized by the graceful, serene, and etiquette "green thumb" which was also captivating! Diane made sure that regardless of when and where my wedding's venue would be, she was determined to not only have it arranged in the superior most eloquent method, but it will make our guests eyes become flourished with captivation. If you don't think I have already said enough, Diane also made the floral arrangements at my older Sister's wedding in late January and the results were just spectacular. She was able to make stunning arrangements for a wedding that took place during the winter, just imagine what she will display out at my summer wedding! With all this said, I am truly and deeply disturbed with some of the dishonest and partial comments that other Yelper's have left behind, which I felt is not fair or deserving for Diane and her wonderful colleagues at Ribbon's and Roses (which is a well worthy name).
