Try not to go on Saturday's if you can help it.... you'll be waiting an hour outside in the sun

I visited DLS on a Saturday at about 6:10am. I was somewhat surprised that there was a line of people waiting outside. I took a number and then waited outside with the others. I was worried that it'd take long to be seen but they were so fast! I'd recommend you have your ID and insurance card ready prior to having your number called. The nurse was super friendly and got me in one poke. I was in and out in a few minutes! I'm very happy that they have this location. There's a lot of parking and in the same shopping center as Safeway Kapolei. It's on the side next to Bedmart/Enfuego. I'll be sure to come back again if I have to do more blood work in the future. read more

I've had my blood drawn enough times to say that this was the best place I've ever had it done at. She found my vein so quickly, poked (which I didn't even feel) and had me out within minutes. No wait time, clean and very friendly staff. This place is out of the way for me but I will definitely come back to this location should my doctor need me to draw blood again. read more

I arrived around 6:50 am to get my blood drawn and there were 5 people ahead of me. So when my number was called around 5 minutes later, I thought that was pretty quick for them to check me in and do my blood work. The staff person I had was really nice and professional. She found my vein easily and was out of there around 5 minutes later. This location is located in the Kapolei Shopping center close to Bed Mart and Kapolei Medical Center. Lots of parking. read more

Tuesday morning on August 1, 2023 I arrived at the Diagnostic Laboratory Service in Kapolei Marketplace to do my blood works. I noticed there were several people inside the establishment already. I grabbed a paper ticket and waited patiently for my turn. In less than five minutes I heard someone say "99". I looked down at the paper ticket and seen the number 99. I handed the female worker my state identification card and gave her my phone number as well as the info on who the blood work results should be sent to. I followed the worker to a room where my blood works took place. The wahine employee informed me that her name is Angela and that she'll do the process of withdrawing blood from my arm. Two vials were filled and the blood was taken from the left arm. Throughout the process I had my eyes closed since I don't really care for needles. Diagnostic Laboratory Service in Kapolei Marketplace will be my go to place for blood works. After all get several choices of food establishments nearby in case I get hungry. read more

I went for my routine lab work. Got there right at 6:00 am and was #8 in line. Though the wait was not very long. Just a heads up - they still enforce the mask policy. Personally, I think that's a good thing . Dora drew my blood and she is EXCELLENT! I didn't feel a thing! Not even a pinch. read more

DLS Kapolei branch. Walk in system is effective and efficient. Technicians are friendly and well trained in phlebotomy (medical procedure for drawing blood). Physicians send in their requests for their patients and when you arrive the technicians pull up your profile and get you in and out very quickly and efficiently. You can view your results online by signing into their webpage and registering your profile. When done, you'll see the tests and results in the same form your doctor receives. I've used them for years and never had a problem. read more

3/5/2021 6:00am If you are planning to get lab work done, a number system is used to triage everyone in. Here I was sitting in my car, waiting for it to open! I didn't see the number stand until I walked out at 6 am. By then, I was number ELEVEN in line! It's 6:15 am and they are on number 5...so I guess you could say it's taking them 3 minutes to process one person. Which isn't bad considering that includes the paperwork! The "funniest" thing about doctor's offices and labs is that they somehow magically just know your name and they get it right too! Lol I came here bc I needed to have a blood test done. My chiropractor, Dr. Eugene Kitts of Newtown Chiropractic, told me to get one. On the back of the lab form is a complete list of DLS labs. Just turn it over and find one in your area! I'm a Kaiser Permanente member through and through (since I was a baby after I was born at Kapiolani) and I have to say that my first experience with this laboratory service was excellent. I called to find out the hours of operation, location, and the ins as to whether they were gonna be uber busy when I got there. All of my questions answered: 1) until 3 (it was Friday week day), 2) left of Safeway Kapolei, 3) just kinda depends who else walked in! When I got there at 230 pm, there was no one in the waiting room. Yay! Maybe I can get helped asap! The girl who was donned in a lab coat took my paper (from my chiropractor) and asked me for my ID. I handed her my ID while she confirmed who sent me there. She immediately called my Dr. Kitts office to let them know my paper had no lab data on it and she matter of factly and very politely explained she would need one filled out asap bc I was there and she/DLS was gonna close at 3 and to please send a new form (updated by my chiropractor) to update the one I brought in. She hung up (with my chiropractor's office) then explained the cost of my lab test, I paid for the lab test, and then she walked me into the lab, sat me down (had me put my stuff on an adjacent counter), quickly eyeballed by arms for best vein, briefly and quickly consulted with me on which arm works best (for blood work), wrapped the tubing around my arm, and warned me to take a deep (casual) breath and relax. I relaxed. She did her (blood taking/drawing) thing. She said something to distract me. I got distracted. Forgot what she said already (but I could remember if I really needed to lol) and in a few seconds, she was done, placed a band-aid on the blood test site and wrapping my arm in a rubbery purply (..awww...I just loooooove purpo! See the amazing distraction tactics at work here with these amazing lab-peeps?! Hehehe) gauze wrap and letting me know we're all done and that my doc would lmk the test results. "Have a nice weekend! :D" is the last thing she cheerfully said as I walked outside the door a happy customer :D I was out the door before 3! Out of there in no time flat! Fast, yeah?! If you need professional high quality lab services, this is a great place to come! And while I still might not know that lab person's name (sorry!), what I do know is that they're just THAT (efficient and) good! Just in time for Halloween! Teehee! Or should I say: bwahahahaha..! :D --- So..to come full circle: Went to see my doc yesterday (Monday evening) and my test results were already ready and waiting for my doc to discuss with me. Changing to 1 star because the Filipino lady/nurse moved the needle while it was already in my arm. She wasn't paying close attention and was rushing. Other than talking rudely to me and rushing to finish the job. The day after I noticed I had a small bruise, and now today the bruise has gotten bigger! It really upset me to have gone through such an experience. Im not afraid of needles and I never had something like this happen to me before. I hope this kind of experience doesn't happen to anyone else. read more

I've been consistently coming here now for the past 6 years. Super convenient location with easy parking and quick service. The phlebotomists there are quick, personable and skilled. I recently came in early one morning and let out a huge sigh because the waiting room was full (standing room only) and I was afraid I was going to have to wait for a long time to get blood drawn. Much to my surprise, the ladies cleared 12 people waiting super quick! I wasn't there for more than 20 minutes from check in to check out. REMEMBER TO TAKE A NUMBER WHEN YOU ARRIVE. This is how they know who is up next. You can also request a copy of your lab results to be sent to you if you are interested in keeping a copy for yourself. I was REFUSED SERVICES by Diagnostic Laboratory Services because I did not "COMPLY" with their DISCRIMINATORY and UNCONSTITUTIONAL Mask Wearing policy. 1. Female attendant was wearing a facemask, face shield, and stood behind plexiglass. Well protected right? Her choice and just following her company policies I assume. Perhaps it is just 'fear' on her part. Fine. I'm okay with that and understand her side. But don't ask me to mask up with a surgical device that is effective as a chain-link fence trying to stop a mosquito. 2. There is no longer an illegal "Emergency Proclamation" in effect. 3. I was ASYMPTOMATIC during my visit! 4. Even IF, I myself or she were symptomatic, we would have had to have been exposed to each other for 15 minutes. Whether it'd be consecutively or accumulatively over a period of 8 hours. Umm...I don't think two vials of blood and me pissing in a cup would've taken half that time. 5. I'm 60, unvaccinated, and for damn sure unafraid and tired of the LIES and NARRATIVES being continually projected. 6. Long story short. I called Clinical Labs and asked if they had a mask policy to perform a simple routine lab work. Answer? MASK OPTIONAL! Boom! Game Over! 7. Wake up Hawaii! God Bless America! read more

LOCATION: this is located between straub and fun factory in Kapolei mall (Safeway side) PARKING: tons of parking nearby, a lot of the stalls right upfront are usually taken but there is lots of stalls in the lot STAFF: is super quick efficient and courteous. Even when they do have long lines they go thru patients fairly quickly and don't make you feel rushed or anything. Super friendly feel here Please have your medical insurance card and ID card prepared nothing is more annoying then waiting on people who've been waiting and didn't do anything to prepare Probably the only place I prefer to go to for lab work read more

The wait is ridicules!!!! So far every time I came here even my wife the wait is an hour or more.

Not sure why they have a low rating. I've gone here twice now for pre employment drug testing and both times were fast and painless. Girls up front are always nice and they throughly explain all the steps you need to take to ensure your sample gets sent in correctly. No issues with this location! read more

I've never been to any other DLS location, but this one is great. Both phlebotomists I've had here were excellent. They drew blood on the first try and, like the other reviewer said, were very friendly. The location is nice and clean, lots of parking both times I went. It's located towards the end of the Kapolei Shopping Center, closer to and T-Spot Hideaway. Don't forget to bring your health insurance card when you come here! Also, if you're having blood drawn, make sure you're hydrated. It makes it easier for them to draw the blood, which makes it easier for you too. Grab a cup of water from the waiting area and drink up! If you're feeling faint from the needles, grab a slice of Boston's Pizza afterwards. ;) It will make you feel lots better! read more

If I can give 0 or minus I will. I don't know what type of people they hired there. The old Chinese or Korean lady drew the blood for me. I don't think her eyes are good , she complained she couldn't see my vein on the left hand , I can see it clearly so as other specialist in other location so she went to my right hand and then she put the needle in and tapped it in very depth and caused me so much pain. Do not go there. I will try to get her name. Hope someone else there are doing a better job but I will not take risk. I absolutely abhor getting blood work done. I'm TERRIFIED of needles and I bruise incredibly easily which causes routine blood work to make me look like a junky when done by someone with a less than stellar hand. Another fun fact? I'm prone to fainting when the doctor likes to order tons of testing and they have to draw what seems like a pint of blood making me the worlds worst patient. A few weeks ago I had to get my yearly blood work done, and I was grateful to see they had Saturday hours meaning I didn't miss time from work. Check in is fast and efficient. Pick a number have a seat and wait to be called. To make things move faster, have picture identification ready, your insurance card and paper doctors orders available if they weren't sent electronically. After that, have a seat and wait to be called. The phlebotomist who saw me was great and picked up on my nonverbal vibes of "holy hell I'm terrified" and was super gentle with me despite the fact that I'm way too old to be acting like a puss. She was super gentle and I didn't even feel the needle going in meaning no bruising to be seen. Although I'm not looking forward to more blood work in the future, at least I know where to go... read more

Came here on a Tuesday at 10:40am. Don't forget to take a number! The place seemed busy as most of the chairs were filled but don't get discouraged! The whole process took around 20 minutes. The ladies were nice and the lady that drew my blood did a great job. She didn't let me take a photo of the vials of blood like another location did :( but I understood. Overall, a great experience. I become a BIG BABY when it comes to needles and I also have HARD ROLLING VEINS. From my past experience (not at this location) I would be a pincushion and it was not very pleasant at all. Mylien was very awesome and got it on the first try!! I hardly felt anything and somehow she knew I was afraid and nervous so she distracted me and made me felt more at ease and I felt very calm. She was pretty efficient and made sure my blood tests were up to date from other doctors offices.Very good customer service skills and very polite. I give this a 4/5 stars due to waiting time more than 20 minutes but it is very understanding how the employees take their time to clean and sanitize chairs during this pandemic. read more

I was given a lab requisition to go to clinical labs but instead I decided to visit dls because it was convenient. So, there's this short Filipino lady who just had to check his blood sugar count and she was WILLINGLY ready to draw FOUR VILES OF BLOOD OUT OF MY 9 MONTH OLD BABY. She insisted that, "We work with newborns to 1 years old.. blah blah blah.." She was really unprofessional and I even told her, if you don't feel comfortable, then I can go to the hospital and do it there. But she was giving me attitude and she had to bring in another phlebotomist to help. Even she looked at her like she was crazy. I don't know what she was trying to prove but all I can say is that she was crazy enough to draw that much blood out of a baby. read more

Love the fact that if you need lab work done here, they have early hours to accomodate the patients who have to work. Monday - Saturday they open at 6am. Great of your fasting and need lab work done. The staff is friendly and quick. Best time to go is early when they first open otherwise it can be busy...especially in the mornings. Also if you go early your chances of finding rockstar parking drastically improves! Go later and the wait and parking are not as good. read more

Needed a blood test. Went very early there was a short wait, that was good. Once the woman located a vein, she could not get the needle in the vein. The needle was repositioned around 6 times then someone else was called over. She also located the vein but could not get the needle in the vein. Repositioning a few more times. Finally success. The next day you could see the multiple puncture marks and the area was purple. Now 4 days later you can still see the puncture marks and a discolored line showing the flow of blood that resulted from this. Beware if you are sensitive to needles and bleed a lot. read more

All I can say is I am mortified. While waiting with my mother-in-law on a Friday I got to listen to all of the phone messages that had been left since Tuesday. Including several calls from a business over 3 days trying to schedule a pre-employment drug test. So not only did I get to listen to all of the paitents names and phone numbers but really they had not checked the messages for several days. I don't know if we will be coming back here. read more

Been here before to get blood work. Always felt like being a processed number. One time I had a worker poke me 3 times in one arm because she couldn't find my vain. Finally she went to the other arm where she found a vain. Today's blood work went smooth. The worker was polite, gentle and with a slight pinch of the needle she found the vain in the 1st try. Staff not as friendly as before. The techs still know how to draw blood on the first try. Should be more friendly as half the people in here had to fast from the night before and we're hungry!!! Lol. The person who drew my blood was very friendly and she got it on the first try. read more
