Don't waste your time or money here. It doesn't matter what time your appointment is, they regularly run 45-60 minutes behind schedule. They don't link to your app or send appointment reminders. They will schedule you for a 1 hour appointment but according to them, that starts "in the waiting room". So your actual appointment, with a doctor or tech, will be less than 30 minutes. THE BEST WITHOUT A DOUBT I've been to numerous ultrasound visits, and they're hands down the best in town. Their ultrasound techs are incredibly experienced and thorough. They actually review your medical history and ask plenty of follow-up questions to better understand your condition--so they know exactly where to scan, what to focus on, and how to interpret the images as the scan progresses. My last visit with them lasted an hour--that's how much effort they put into understanding my complex medical history and conditions. If the ultrasound techs find anything concerning, they'll notify the doctor, who will come in and examine the scan with you on the spot. You'll receive your report right then and there, and it's always very accurate. I wouldn't go anywhere else for an ultrasound. read more

I was referred there from my physician. That looks like a training organization. There were 3 people in the room performing ultra sounds for the most part. Two of them trying to train the third person. This kind of procedures are stressful by itself. I asked from the beginning about a follicle sizes. I asked 4 times. She did not answer. Obviously focusing on training rather than me! They even gave the probe to the new doctor after done with the measurements and asked her like" do you want to try?!!!" When asked about the details at the end she said I don't remember!! As a health care provider this manner doesn't make sense at all to me! I will never go there again. read more

Their covid "support person policy" is 100% against the actual MGH policy, and my sense is that they prevent partners from coming because it's easier for them and makes for fewer patients/customers inside. MGH policy states that for maternal care and family planning, birth partners are permitted with advanced permission (https://www.massgeneralbrigham.org/covid19/visitor-policy). Their signage and pre-appointment notices state that visitors are strictly not allowed and need to wait outside. Giant signs everywhere saying your partner can't come, and that it's consistent with MGH policies, and that any visitor needs special permission. The policy is that any support person needs to be approved - it doesn't say that they aren't allowed. They don't say "If you want your partner to visit please notify us in advance", it's just a blanket "100% not allowed" Its very clear that life is easier for them if husbands/partners aren't in the picture. They should be a bit more sensitive to the fact that an early term ultrasound can reveal devastating news like a miscarriage, and also 100% permitted under Covid protocols, for a support person to be there Tl;dr - they blame Covid rules for keeping our husbands but they really do it because it's easier for their operations, Covid rules don't prohibit husbands from visiting. read more

Desk staff is horrendous. They are rude, and act as if you are interrupting them when you show up to the desk. The office covid guidelines on not allowing support persons to be present with their spouses is outdated and unwarranted. Their are many US clinics around the area that will accommodate spouses/partners and have a friendlier atmosphere. If you have to make an appointment there, do yourself a favor and call your insurance company first to make sure whatever care you get is covered. I'm facing a $1000 charge for the appointment I raved about - even though they list that they take my insurance on their website! Techs here are friendly but it is disgusting how rude the desk staff is. They are middle aged women who sit and gossip and then act like you're interrupting or inconveniencing them to check in or ask any questions. Also, they always are extremely behind. Literally had an appointment scheduled for 45 minutes ago and am STILL waiting. I only come here because my OB is in the same building. I would never recommend them. Horrible, techs are unequipped to handle with patient with trauma, and that's sickening. I wrote on my intake form in the 'anything we should know' box that I have extreme anxiety and trauma; however, no one seemed to bother to read the form because they claimed they didn't know and if they had know they wouldn't have done that kind of ultrasound sound in the first place. In addition, the tech made the most crude suggestion during my ultrasound, I will not type it out here. Not only was the tech horrible, but the front desk lady was extremely rude, and they took me 45 min late after telling me to arrive with a full bladder. I think one of the most anticipated moments in pregnancy is seeing the image of the fetus, all happy go lucky in their little womb-nest. It's the moment where you know the pregnancy's real, and you're not just imagining it (like you did with Bird Flu, Bacterial Meningitis, and of course, Salmonella poisoning). We went in and waited only 10 minutes to meet with the ultrasound technician, with me overly anxious and hubby overly calm and trying to make me less stressed. We were led into a little, dark room with a table adorned with - you guessed it - stirrups. In the corner, there was a large amount of computer things, scanning equipment, and keyboards. That made hubby's day. The first technician came in, squirted some KY Jelly on my belly, and plopped the scanner thing onto my stomach. Instantly the fetus popped on screen, doing twists and turns and moving even though I couldn't feel the motions. The tech was great - she explained what we were looking at: Spine, bladder (fetus', not mine but we saw that too), legs, hands, feet, skull -- all the parts were there. Whew. Oh yeah, the tech was pretty confident we were having a girl. After the birth, I'll go back either add or deduct a star, based on this prediction. And you'll either see me returning a crapload of pink shit to Babies R Us or not. read more

OK, so here it is: I don't choose or rate my doctors based on how nice their secretaries are, on how long I had to wait, or on how polite someone at the office was to me. I choose and rate my doctors based on their know-how and medical expertise!!! Yes, I had to wait. Yes, they're not always the nicest at the desk. Yes, it's annoying. But it pales in comparison to what this clinic gives you in medical expertise!! One of the docs there is the one who pioneered the nuchal folds test for Down's syndrome. All of them are absolute top top notch, the best you'll get. The technicians are so knowledgeable and absolute experts. I've never had a bad ultrasound there - the experience once I am in has always been fabulous. So, yeah, if wait times and politeness of secretaries are the most important factors for you - go elsewhere - definitely. If it's top-notch medical expertise, experience and know-how that matter to you - this place is the best. read more

If I could, I'd give this business 0 stars. Every single time I come here, the wait is 30-45 minutes and it doesn't matter if you were added on for today or your visit was scheduled a month in advance. They outdid themselves yesterday. 1 hour wait, with no explanations even though when we walked through the door and saw 8 other couples in the waiting room, we were told the wait will be 30 min. As a result, my husband had to leave and jump on a conf call in the car, I asked if I could record the US for him but the answer was No. It is my personal data, I did do recording at a different office with no issues. WTH?! Staff at this office has no respect to patients' time nor understanding that patients actually can have a job and their own schedule that they basically ruin. I did end up doing an US at Brigham with no wait nor issues. Will avoid this place at all cost in the future. read more

Nothing about my experience with Diagnostic Ultrasound Associates has been good. The exams themselves were uncomfortable, the office staff was short and cold toward me, and the billing process has been a nightmare. I've been dealing with their billing department for months trying to get things sorted, and they made a decision/"resolved" things without telling me (i.e. decided they would not change anything), and sent me a "final notice" bill, even though I was told several times that this process of deliberation about the billing would not result in me being considered late. Today, upon receiving the final notice, I called and they claimed that things were already explained to me, which is an outright lie. The last conversation I had with them was, for the third time, someone telling me I was right and giving me a reference # for the issue. I'm extremely frustrated from the whole process and their lack of both customer service and intelligence. read more

Decided to write this at the moment an hour has passed waiting at diagnostic ultrasound. I am not pregnant therefore I don't have the benefit of being excited to see my baby. I find it absolutely unacceptable that they make people wait this long especially when having an ultrasound requires a full bladder. I came in prepared but had to relieve myself because I realized I would be waiting. Then I drank a bunch of water to be sure my bladder isn't empty when it's my turn. Went there so my OBGYN who is also in the building could perform my IUD implant. Dr. Benacerraf came in to check on me before and after the process as well which was appreciated. The sonographer whose name I believe is Lisa was great and very dedicated to making sure I was 100% after the process. My blood pressure dropped a lot in addition to the cramping I became nauseous and clammy and weak (which were all side effects I was informed about prior) She had me lie on my side and placed cold compresses on my neck and head and allowed me to stay in the room with no rushing. They provided me with pretzels and snacks as well. My appointment was scheduled for 9:00 am and I wasn't called in till closer to 9:30 which didn't bother me since this was a quick procedure and being accessible to patients especially those who are pregnant is important (I am not pregnant). This was reinforced after my experience knowing that I "overstayed" my time in the exam room by at least 20 minutes. I really appreciated it. read more

I've been to diagnostic ultrasound 6 times over two pregnancies and I really don't like having to go there. Seeing the baby is great and the technicians are usually really good but the waiting time is rediculous. Only once was I seen at a time remotely close to my appointment time. Most of the time they are very late - 30 to 45 minutes late. If you have to go there, bring a lot of reading material. read more

I have been here twice for routine ultrasounds during my pregnancy, because they are affiliated with my Doctor's office. Both times I have had great experiences. On my first visit my wait was about 15 minutes (not bad) and my second visit I did not have to wait at all. They warm the gel before they put it on your belly, which is wonderful, especially in the winter. The techs are all very knowledgeable and informed and I've felt very comfortable here. The second ultrasound was my anatomy scan, and my Husband and I asked the Tech if she could just write down the sex of our baby on a piece of paper we brought, so that we could then bring the letter to a friend who offered to make us either a pink or blue cake, and we could cut into it that night with my whole family. I was staring at the screen the entire time (over a half hour!) and somehow she caught the sex but didn't tell us what it was and wrote it down just like we asked. Also, they give wonderful pictures, including 3d, for us to take home! read more

Worse customer service ever!!!. My doctor's office is affiliated with this ultrasound place so unfortunately, I have to go there for my check-ups. I called to try to reschedule my appointment and the person who picked-up the phone was completely unpolite and rude. He even told me that if I needed to reschedule to go to the emergency room!!!. While I understand they could have been booked, no need for being unrespecful to their customers. After all, we are the ones who keep them in business. I certainly don't recomment this place. They are better places around the area so unless your doctor is affiliated with them, find somewhere else to go!. read more

this place is the f-ing worst. I called because I was having a retained miscarriage and needed an ultrasound to confirm fetal death, so I was not in a great mood, but the man who picked up the phone made it even worse with his over the top rudeness. First of all, I said I was having a miscarriage and needed to get an ultrasound, and usually people have the courtesy to say "oh, im sorry to hear that" or whatever, but not him. This wouldn't have bugged me at all if it had ended there. He then told me there was no way he could make an appointment for me without a phone call from my doctor and basically berated me for having the audacity to call myself. I said that my primary care doctor was faxing over an authorization and he very sarcastically said "what, does he not have a phone?! Is he too good to talk to me?" He then said I should have my OB call him with the authorization. I explained that I was seeing a midwife but my insurance requires my PCP to authorize specialist visits, and he interrupted me to scold me for not having an OB. A, midwives are great care providers with better overall outcomes for low risk pregnant people than OBs, and B, none of his damn business, anyway. He continued to be rude, so I asked to talk to someone else, who was barely interested, but she at least bothered to walk over to the fax machine, see the authorization from my PCP and make me an appointment for the next day. You would think that they would have some training about being kind to people in sad situations, if that needs to be taught. I said i was upset by the original receptionist's rudeness, and she said she would have one of the doctors call me back in a few; I never heard from anyone. The next day, I went in to get the ultrasound, and I told the receptionist that I was hoping to speak with a manager about my phone experience the day before, and a tech immediately came out and rushed me into in a private room, where she proceeded to tell me that I was obviously hormonal and upset. Yes, but I didn't want to talk about it with her, I wanted to be treated with courtesy and not be scolded when I call to make a medical appointment. And I really hated the implication that I was only upset at his rudeness because I was having a miscarriage-it's sexist and gaslighting. She assured me that a doctor would call me later that day or the next day to discuss the issue with the receptionist, and took me into an ultrasound room, where I waited, pants off and cold, for about 20 minutes. The doctor came in and was somewhat compassionate, until I mentioned that I had a sure conception date because I was doing artificial insemination. She asked me which doctor was "doing that to you" and I said none, I was using a known donor and inseminating myself. She proceeded to lecture me about how it wasn't safe to "get pregnant at home" or "without proper supervision" and I probably wouldn't get pregnant that way, anyway. I said that given that I was currently pregnant, I disagreed, and she strongly implied that I was having a miscarriage because a doctor hadn't been present when I inseminated myself and I probably hadn't "done it correctly." For the record, people are no less likely to miscarry after artificial insemination than they are after doing it with a sperm producer, and Im pretty sure the majority of pregnancies begin at home, or in otherwise "unsupervised" locations. And while artificial insemination at home is super socially awkward, its not exactly rocket science. I can't be the first queer woman in boston to try to get pregnant. And the last thing anyone needs in the middle of a miscarriage is a guilt trip. I'd just stay away from this place. And I never heard back from anyone about the rude receptionist. read more

In a word, miserable. After a 2 hour wait for our scheduled appointment, my wife was asked to take her own weight on the bar scale. Every single person we spoke to confirming her information had something wrong (DOB, age, spelling of her name, etc) the technition was curt, but WORST of all was the Doctor. We have already been in this place for 2 and a half hours for a routine ultrasound. Therefore we have a parking ticket, warm groceries in the car, and are now late for every appointment for the rest of the day. All this guy had to say was something along the lines of " I'm very sorry for your inconvenience, your baby looks healthy, etc.) instead he chose to engage in lengthy and pointless small talk peppered with some mild racism aimed at her and adding the remark that if I lacked more self control would have awarded him some missing teeth "you have the uterus of an 19 year old". Needless to say, My wife and I are repulsed by our experience, will never do business with these people in the future and emplore you to do the same. read more
