Dark hair on dark skin is the hardest combination for this, most lasers have been designed for light skin and dark hair. For me it was important to find someone that not only had the right laser (Nd:YAG 1064nm) for my skin tone, but also someone who had experience treating someone that looks like me. I felt confident enough after my consultation with Dr. Graber to make my first appointment for laser hair removal. The only reason this place doesn't get 5 starts is because it is impossible to get someone on the phone to answer questions. I understand that they are extremely busy, but I had to call 5 times between Friday and Monday to finally get a response while I was in the car on my way to my appointment which was frustrating and scary before my first laser removal appointment. I ended up getting there early so that I had time to ask all my questions. Though I did feel a little rushed at first, when a said I had a couple questions they immediately got the doctor so I could speak to her before we proceeded. After that I felt relieved and much more comfortable proceeding with the laser treatment. In hindsight, I think this is so routine to the nurses and doctors that work there they probably thought I was a repeat patient and didn't anticipate me having questions. But as soon as I spoke up they were much more attentive and explained everything that they were doing along the way. I left feeling good about my overall experience and I think my next visit will be a better one now that I know what to expect. I've only just started laser hair removal treatment so I can't say yet how well it has worked but I have no negative side effects and have been able to go about my life normally after the first treatment.

It felt really discouraging and I felt like I had to watch what I said to avoid paying extra fees. They ended up finding an abnormal mole and significantly downplayed the size of skin they were removing. The stitching job was poor and I now have a giant scar when I thought I was getting a small removal

I will never set foot inside this doctor's office again. I had waited over 6 months to get an…read moreappointment. When making the appointment, I didn't feel like I needed to divulge all the reasons why I'm coming to see a doctor to a RECEPTIONIST, so I said I'd like to speak to her about some dermatitis. When I finally had my appointment today, the office assistant was quite adamant that I could only speak to her about the ONE thing I came to speak to her about because they had only allotted enough time for that. So, the doctor just absolutely refused to talk to me about ANYTHING else. It was a serious mind-fuck. Isn't a dermatologist supposed to check your moles or something as part of a routine visit? I felt completely rushed and disrespected - it really ruined my day. And the worst part is that they were so nice and pleasant about the whole thing. I get it. Doctors get paid for procedures they do, not to listen to you complain about how you don't like your complexion. This one will probably be more interested in me when I'm 40 and wanting Botox or skin resurfacing or whatever the fck the bored housewives of Arlington get for their bdays. This was a real disappointment. After reading reviews about a doctor who listens, I experienced something altogether different.

Dr Hirsch does not strike me as the type of Doctor you select for a "routine visit". The woman is…read morerenowned for cosmetic and laser dermatology, which is why I waited for an appointment. In my case, I decided to see Dr. Hirsch for laser hair removal and a general consult about what daily facial skin regimen would be best for me. The woman is adorable. She is full of energy and possesses a staggering wit. More importantly, she is devastatingly blunt. If what you want is unrealistic, she is going to tell you, and I think that is an extremely important characteristic for someone in her field. Luckily, my expectations were feasible, and after a thorough chat about my skin and what over the counter products I could use to keep me looking younger longer (which, although admittedly rather expensive, have been working like a charm!), I was ushered out to schedule the actual appointment for my procedure. The ensuing appointment was just as great as the consult. I am sure I looked slightly nutty in protective eyewear (lasers are bright!), a medical gown, and a hair cap. Yet somehow, Dr Hirsch put me at ease. She even gave me a stuffed animal to hold on to during the procedure. The day after the procedure I was surprised by how red the treated areas looked. It was a little scary! I called the office and the office manager took my information. Soon after, Dr. Hirsch rang my phone and walked me through my concerns. The redness was normal, but she was never condescending, and she even called me each day for 2 days thereafter, just to make sure I was doing well! And the results of the procedure?.... SO GREAT!! I will definitely consult Dr. Hirsch for all of my dermatology and cosmetic concerns in the future.

I have recommended this Dermatology practice to so many people…read more I have been to three of the locations now, and they are all excellent. If I have an urgent issue, Lena at scheduling has been phenomenal at getting back to me with a cancellation spot. Without an urgent matter, it's usually a 2 to 3 week wait depending on location. Dr. Dawn Baird is who my daughter and now I, typically see. She is extremely thorough and is excellent at avoiding pain. I do not know how she does it but the couple Novocain injections she administered was 100% pain free. I did not even feel a pinch. I forget her assistant's name, but the two of them work great as a team. Dr. Baird is not your typical dermatologist. She takes pictures of everything and dictates extremely thorough notes, to the point where I have no idea what she's talking about, not that it matters because she simplifies it afterwards. I went in for a very awkward procedure, that she turned simple and easy .... as if it was nothing. And let me tell you, it definitely was something. A little advice... Don't bother with compound W - all it did was make a mess. Great patient bedside manner and a very soft, empathetic touch. If you or anyone you care about has H.S (Hidradenitis Suppurativa), this is the facility to go to. All the doctors are knowledgeable. In addition to Dr. Baird, Dr. Rowe (and a few others) treated my daughter. Knowledge, kindness and listening are the features that stand out the most. Prior to AP Derm we went to Beth Israel in Boston. We have our favorite doctors there too. But, there is no need to commute that distance when these doctors are equally talented...and give you more time. Dr. Baird actually gave us more helpful info than B.I. - we never feel rushed. That's important.
