Bad Situation Turned Good This past Friday, November 17th, I purchased two Andis products from this store (1 Andis Profoil Shaver /1 Andis T-Outliner). To my dismay after returning home, while attempting to turn on the T-Outliner, I found it to be inoperable. Unable to return the product that day due to a weekend trip out of town, I returned to the store today to exchange this product and to ask about the possibility of exchanging the "Andis" Shaver for a "Wahl" Shaver. Upon my return to the store, I had a negative experience with "Jay", the store manager. He questioned me (did you drop it?) and alluded to me being untruthful after seeing a hair follicle on the side of the T-Outliner (which may have been picked up from my bathroom while using another product). After some back and forth, between myself, my brother and Jay, Jay tested the product and confirmed that it did indeed not work. He tested another T-Outliner and allowed me to exchange the defective product for the working one. Consequently, after Jay opened the box for the Shaver, he identified hair shavings inside the blade opening, keeping in mind I had not opened the box. I was shocked by this. Jay informed me that he could not exchange the shaver and that the new Outliner was non-returnable. After this interaction, I was angered and very offended. I quickly decided to call back to the store to gain the owner's contact information to further discuss the matter. After making several attempts to call, I finally got in touch with someone. To my dismay, it was Jay, the associate I had interacted with prior. Jay informed me that he was the owner. I explained to him how I had felt about his rudeness and after several minutes of talking, Jay apologized and informed me that he would accommodate my need to exchange the shaver. Long story short, Jay handled our altercation in a professional manner. He admitted that he had maybe based our interaction from past experiences from customers that tried to get over on them. I definitely understand this viewpoint, as I have worked customer service for several years. Overall, Jay made my day by taking time to hear me out and assisting me. I will definitely return to this store just because of how this young man handled this situation. He owned up to his mistake and helped me out in the end.I have much respect for him and his willingness to turn a bad situation into a very positive one. Thanks Jay! I visited Diamon Beauty supply a year ago and vowed not to return due to poor customer service. A barber recommended I try again because he has such great experiences with the employees. Not so true about that. They have an extensive selection of products but perhaps he should invest some of the funds on customer service. Every time I enter this establishment, the staff is very polite. The store is always super clean and the items are easy to find. I am a wig girly, so it is important for me to have multiple options. The store has everything that you need. If you are looking for, the perfect hair care items this place is for you. They have one of the biggest wig selections in the area. The wigs are always in great condition, and last very long, if well are taken care of. I love that when I come in they already know what I'm looking for. The prices are reasonable as well. This is my go to place for everything that I need from here to accessories. They also have clothing, shoes, jewelry, and etc. This is definitely a one stop shop.. Its a pretty big beauty supply with lots and lots of tingz, but its lacking hair dye choices most definitely. They sell Loreal feria, and types of hair dyes you can get at Wal-Mart for way cheaper. They have a whole separate extension that is dedicated to wigs with a sign that reads "OVER 800 WIGS' and yes this might be accurate because there is a lot of them on showcase in there. The staff is very friendly and helpful, and I also like there selection of braiding hair. They have complex braiding hair not just the kane-kalon stuff. They carry ombre colors, softer more human versions and more. Also when you make a purchase I'm not sure at what dollar amount but they give you these fake dollars that's only valid in there store called diamond bucks, and you can collect them and use them towards your future purchases. read more

Popped in here on the recommendation of my stylist to pick up some crocheted Senegalese twist hair. Not too far from the salon I frequent and as a bonus I was able to use the 20% off Yelp check in offer! I was greeted upon entry and when I asked the location of the hair, the guy working actually walked me to the area and showed me three options to get an idea of what I wanted. I had no issue with the price of the item I purchased. As with any item, take your time and shop around keeping in mind you often get what you pay for. This store was well lit, clean and seemed orderly. Shared parking with the neighboring stores. They are capable of accepting cash, credit and payment via contactless pay (Apple, Samsung Pay, Android Pay etc.). I can see myself returning here if in the area. read more

This beauty supply store is huge and full of everything and absolutely nothing, all at the same time. If you go in there for the most popular African American hair brands such as Milkyway 100% Yaki Hair, they don't have it. How about the 29 piece Velvet or any other brand for that matter? Nope, they don't have it. Let's move on to braiding hair. How about Kima/Harlem, Ruwa, or Freetress in any colors other than 1/1b? Sorry, they do not have it. And let's not even discuss the prices even if they do have any of the above by some off chance, it's either 24" long or 10-12" long, so one way or another, it's either your going to get a 24" bust down, pay extra for those 24" and get the majority of that cut or nothing because who but a 10 year old is going to get 10-12" of hair? Furthermore, these people are never willing nor around to assist. You have to hunt someone down for assistance and/or go up to the desk and wait in line or until someone gives you eye contact if you stand off to the side of their desk to ask for assistance no matter the time of day or if they're busy or not. Never shop here. They're all too unprofessional and couldn't care less if they have your business or not. Go to Coco Beauty Supply, right around the corner. It was initially a great experience until I went to check out. I Yelp for EVERYTHING so when I found the great reviews at Diamond Beauty & Barber, I was excited. I found two wigs I wanted and I went to leave. I checked in on Yelp and showed the cashier my 20% off. She stared at it blankly then said she was going to question it because normally they take a discount off other things. I asked her if that was listed on the offer and she replied no. It almost made me want to leave my items there because Sis..... is the discount coming out of your check. If you are going to question it, I'll be happy to call Management over for the final say. This is not the least expensive beauty supply store in the area but they have a large selection of products to choose from. For instance, I normally pay $.99 for a pack of earrings for my daughter and $.99 for the large hair bows that she likes to wear. Here, you'll pay $.50 more. They offer inexpensive belts, scarves, and hair accessories, however I've seen them cheaper at other beauty supply stores nearby. You will pay $.50 to one dollar more on many of their products compared to the other beauty supply stores. I would come here more often instead of going to other beauty stores if they would lower their prices. read more

If I was able to give no stars I would. This has not been the first time I've had a problem with this beauty supply store. I recently went to this store to buy a few packs of curly hair. I purchased the Femi collection crochet braiding hair. When I got home and started to install the braiding hair after adding at least 20 pieces of the hair I noticed it started to tangle. Finally, after I was done installing everything I tried to go through the hair gently and it tangled COMPLETELY to the point I was unable to remove hair or even take it out. I have installed crochet braids many times before and I am aware curly hair tends to tangle but I've never had that problem of curly hair tangled and matting before. I called the store to make the problem aware to them about the hair to see if I could either get my money back (although it was out of the pack and installed in my hair I could not get the hair out without cutting it or failing to pull the hair apart) or at least to see if this has happened to other costumers before. When I arrived to the store employees were checking out customers which was understandable, the manager how ever was on the phone showing no interest of helping. When he finally came to help us he explained that there was nothing he could do and showed no interest in helping and could care less that the hair from their store was matted and in poor quality even though it was just a day old. I'm not sure if I was in the wrong for mentioning that hair from THEIR store was in such poor condition despite the fact of it being "brand new". There are other beauty supply stores that give lower prices with better quality hair, coming here would be the last resort. Someone please give me feedback on if something like this has happened to you at this store or you received poor customer service. -My review is 100% my own experience, I understand my experience may not be the same as others. I hope other reviews on here are from actual customers and their experience and not an employee or anyone who owns this store.- read more
