I have been going to Diamond Dental for many years. The staff is friendly and compassionate. I just brought my 14 year old son there for some pain he was having and discovered he had two cavities in his lower molars. Dr. Jay performed two extractions and he did a great job of talking with my son about football while doing the extractions. My son recovered quickly from the first extraction and I anticipate the same for the tooth extracted today. They tried to talk me into a root canal and crown for those teeth but it is likely his wisdom teeth will move into those spots left after extraction. Once I said no, they didn't pressure me. I'll be heading there soon for a cleaning and to address a cavity I have as well. I can't give a better recommendationg aside from saying I trusted them with my baby and they truly delivered. read more

What happened to me at Diamond Dental falls into an unethical and unlawful territory. As a patient, I have the right to standard dental care, yet I was subjected to verbal mistreatment and unjust denial of services by Stephanie Ermatinger and Linda Abramov. While dental offices have the authority to establish their own treatment policies, they cannot engage in unfair business practices, insurance fraud, coercion, or patient manipulation. My insurance explicitly covers a standard cleaning at this dental office, the only reason why I came here, and the attending dentist only recommended, but did not mandate, a deep cleaning. Despite this, Stephanie Ermatinger and Linda Abramov wrongfully refused to provide a covered service, which is a clear violation of patient rights. The American Dental Association (ADA) Code of Ethics states that dentists must not withhold necessary treatment without a legitimate medical reason (e.g., risk of infection or a contraindicated procedure). In my case, the dentist confirmed that my oral health is excellent, with no cavities and only a recommendation, not a requirement, for a deep cleaning because of gums that are SLIGHTLY irritated with minimal bleeding. I was not diagnosed with any disease that would make a standard cleaning inappropriate. Refusal to provide my covered standard cleaning appears to be coercion and an unfair business practice. The staff's actions strongly suggest an attempt to pressure me into an unnecessary and expensive procedure. Additionally, I was verbally misled and manipulated by a staff member with short brown hair and tinsel in her hair, who told me directly, word for word, that my insurance is "pointless" and "won't help much." This misrepresentation of my benefits is not only deceptive but may constitute insurance fraud under consumer protection laws. This is a serious matter, and I will not tolerate such malpractice. I will be immediately notifying my insurance company about your refusal to provide a covered service, and I anticipate they will investigate Diamond Dental for improper billing practices. I will be filing an official complaint with the Florida Board of Dentistry, which governs professional conduct and patient rights violations. I will be reporting Diamond Dental to the Better Business Bureau (BBB) and the Florida Consumer Protection Agency, as I strongly suspect unfair business practices. Given the distress caused by your deceptive and unethical actions, I am also considering legal action and will consult with an attorney specializing in consumer protection and healthcare law. I will exhaust every option to ensure this behavior is exposed and addressed. I hope my report helps protect other patients from experiencing the same mistreatment. Honestly, what a waste of my time. I will be taking the X-rays they made me do elsewhere! By law, they must fax it over to a better dental office. Not to mention - they had me wait 30 minutes past my scheduled appointment and did not greet me as a new patient when I walked in, etc. I was so disappointed the second I walked in. On 5/16/2023 I visited Diamond Dental to repair a cracked tooth. The staff person at the front desk notified me that they were not on my Aetna insurance plan. Another staff person told me prior to my consent to the procedure (resin two surface anterior D2331) that they contacted my Aetna Insurance, and that this procedure was not approved by them since "it was considered cosmetic". I was asked to pay $265.00 for the procedure which I paid for, and the procedure was performed that day by Dr. Abramov. I later received a statement from Aetna stating that Diamond Dental office submitted a bill to them for that procedure, and Diamond dental was paid by Aetna. I was also notified by Aetna that Diamond dental was on their Network. On June 2nd, I personally submitted a copy of my Aetna statement to Diamond Dental's front desk assistant Jennifer and requested a refund for the difference of what I paid you ($265.00) minus what was paid by my Aetna Insurance. Despite subsequent calls and emails to Diamond dental office, the response I received was that "the account manager named Linda is not available and will get back to me". I notified Aetna regarding this situation, and they called Diamond dental office on several occasions and confirmed that they are in Aetna network, that they were paid for the procedure which was approved by them, and that Diamond Dental owed me a refund. I wrote an email directly to Dr. Abramov since I am a colleague physician hoping he would communicate with me but got no response. It took me over 6 months after submitting a claim with Aetna to get my refund from Aetna, not by Diamond Dental. The office manager at Diamond Dental never acknowledged that they misled me when I was informed that they were not in Aetna network, explained why they submitted a bill to Aetna for a service that I already paid and told it was cosmetic, nor offered to refund my money after they got paid by Aetna. I was pleased with Dr Abramov's dental skills and clinical treatment. However, I am extremely disappointed with the poor customer service that the Diamond dental office and management staff has provided. It seems that Diamond is more interested in greed than being fair to their customers. I am now under the care of a new dental office and am very pleased with their honesty and customer service. I will not recommend your Diamond dental office to my colleagues, patients, and friends. read more

I've been going here for years... office staff, great. Actual dentist, great. The hygienist?? Awful! Always get so frustrated when getting my teeth cleaned. Just had one guy talk my ear off the whole time! I understand he's trying to educate but I feel as if I'm a child who's being punished and my teeth are not even as severe as most people! I live nearby and this dentist took my insurance. I felt I needed to stay on my guard because they kept trying to add services like flouride treatments etc. They took about 10 xrays and the dentist cleaned my teeth. On the next visit I was told they don't take my insurance. I got my teeth cleaned with a hygienist who did a very fast job. They had no where to rinse so I had a bad taste in my mouth. And I never saw the dentist WORST EXPERIENCE EVER..I am going to another dentist who takes my insurance next time. I don't trust this practice. read more

Going to the dentist has been horrific for me in the past. A few coworkers suggested I try Diamond Dental because it is an experience like none before. The receptionists are so kind, caring, and reassuring. They are understanding of past dental experiences and set a calm atmosphere for nervous patients. The Dr. is knowledgeable and non-judgmental. He made me feel comfortable and listened to my reservations and concerns. I loved the dental hygienist! He was welcoming and polite and made the entire experience comfortable. He took the time to explain dental hygiene using analogies and visual aids as well as a bit of humor. As a nervous patient, my experience at Diamond Dental has changed my opinion on going to the dentist. Worst hygentist I have ever seen. She was rough just doing the x-rays and I should have stopped her then. She spent her time polishing my gums instead of my teeth. My gums burned and peeled for the next four days from the polishing. I kept saying ouch, and she kept saying my teeth were sensitive. The dentist himself does his own cleaning and was average at best. (The backs of my front teeth were not cleaned at all.) He also applied a flouride treatment without discussing it with me first. My insurance does not cover it for adults so I would have preferred to be asked first. read more

If I could give this place minus 5 stars i would. They lured me in just to take my money, my other dentist was out of town I called up numerous of places to see if they can tighten my implant this way the only place that insisted that they could. I show up for my appointment waited over 1 hour after an x-ray and after all that time the dentist sends one of his assistants in to tell me they can't help me but gladly charged me for an x-ray and waisted my time, all they had to do was tell me that they couldn't do it instead of wasting my time and my day off . They could've just told me to look for someone else even after giving them all the info about the implant on the phone they still insisted that they would be able to do it. read more

First of all, my uncle is a dds ( a dentist). He practices general dentistry and has for 40 years, so I know what a dentist is supposed to be like. We just moved to the area from st Pete and I had such a horrible dentist experience over there I went for a year without going to a dentist. I knew why people hated the dentist and I always loved the dentist. My uncle is in Louisiana so I quit using him when I left but found another fantastic dentist until I moved to st Pete. I found diamond dental online and went Bc I had to try somewhere. Amazing! Go see him. I'm a tough critic and I was skeptical Bc I have never been to a dentist in a strip mall. Seriously I was like omg. They are amazing and they are honest. I've had dentist tell me I needed 5k worth of work Bc of broken teeth. I had the same experience as Gayle H. The dentist came over to confront me about why I did not want X-Rays every 6 months if my insurance covered it. I explained that I had never had a cavity and that my understanding was that the American Dental Association recommended X-Rays ever 3 years for those without risk of disease or cavity - like me. He told me he followed the guidelines and that I was mistake. I went home and looked up the information. The dentist was mistaken. Felt to me like they were trying to bill as much as possible, rather than take care of the patient. Same thing happened with 3d X-rays. I never needed them with my previous dentist, except for wisdom teeth removal. He "required" them, and they were not covered by my insurance. I have also not been happy with the front desk. My last visit, I was told that my insurance would not let me in that day, because it was not 6 months until the next day. They had picked the date for the appointment, and never called to let me know there was a problem. Trip wasted. I wish I could go back to Hyde Park Dental. I don't usually write reviews, but with the experienced I had at Diamond Dental I felt I needed to write a review. I'm not the biggest fan of dentist due to past child experiences. I was reluctant to visit a dentist, but unfortunately I had to get some tooth pulled. My biggest fear is the pain I would have to endure during and after the visit. Dr. Abramor at Diamond Dental was awesome and very professional. His main focus was to get the best dental treatment for my situation and not just to make money. He knew the fear I had so he focused on making sure I didn't feel any pain. Couldn't believe the 2 times I've been there I've not felt any pain at all. The staff is awesome specially Jenny. Jenny's customer skills is how it should be in all workplace. I can see how a great asset she must be. She definitely knows how to comfort a 52 yrs old man lol. Very accommodating. Very straightforward. I was handed a printout of what they wanted to do, what insurance would or would not cover. I was able to choose the order in which I worked through my issues. I have no complaints at all. What a waste of time. Staff was friendly and they were running on time, which is a good thing. And they are upfront about all the pricing and treatment options. HOWEVER, they require you to get services even if they are not covered by your insurance. My insurance will cover a full set of x-rays, but not a panoramic x-ray. When I declined to pay the extra amount for the x-ray, the dentist advised me that it is a requirement of his, that all patients get them. When I declined to spend anything out of pocket, only what insurance covers, he advised me to find a new dentist! Wouldn't treat me. What a waste of everyone's time. They should indicate that on their website that they require certain services. I advise you to check on these things before you waste your time like I wasted mine. read more

Dr. Abramov is a wonderful dentist. However, if you go to this office PLEASE BE SURE TO REVIEW AND QUESTION EVERY CHARGE ON YOUR BILL. Also, be sure to confirm your insurance coverage on your own -- do not rely on the office staff to do this for you, and do not simply accept what they tell you. I was significantly overcharged for dental services by this office on three separate occasions. I paid hundreds of dollars for services that were covered by my insurance, and when the office received the payments from my insurance company, they did not issue refunds to me. I trusted them and did not discover the problem until nine months had gone by. They have always been professional and all the extras the dental hygienist goes over w me first, and the pricing is ALWAYS very clear and they give me the choice if I want the extras or not. My wonderful dentist retired and I was referred to Diamond dental by a "friend". I have great dental insurance and this office was determined to make good use of that. My initial visit included a lot of extras which I found out later were not covered. The office was very misleading regarding what was covered. My follow up check up 6 months later for a cleaning proved to be very painful. The dental hygienist was very upset when I declined additional X-Rays and services . She then insisted I sign a statement before she would proceed any further. That's when I should have walked as she then proceeded to force her periodontal probe into my gum line tearing tissue and causing me great pain and distress during the periodontal exam. She left the room and the dentist came in to explain the need for X-rays from his point of view. I declined them once again, Dr Abramov then removed my bib and said I was good to go. I told him I came in for a dental cleaning and still had not received one. He then proceeded to clean my teeth himself. Be very careful with this dentist and their practices, question everything regarding services and call your insurance to confirm coverage prior to allowing any procedures. read more
