Came all the way from Texas to visit family here in Oregon/California since they live near the border. I always like to check various local beef jerky stores when I visit different place. This place seems like your typical local meet store upon entry until you are greeted by their kind staff. They have many beef Jersey flavors (all natural) and they will give you huge samples which was awesome. They gave us numerous generous samples and told us about their meets. They have all types of meets and marinates. Their tri-tip looks delicious and the prices on all their meets are very fair ($6-$25). The best part is they are Law Enforcement / Military friendly. Overall, 5+ stars and hands down one of the best jerky places I've had.

Just had the Hillbilly Tri tip last night...it was amazing. You've got to give it a try.

After that, a worker said she couldn't seat me, that the hostess had to. The hostess was in the middle of cleaning up a table and asked for us to wait a couple minutes while she cleans up. I thought the table she was cleaning was for us, but after cleaning, she seated us at one that was already cleaned. So I was confused on why not seat us first, and continue cleaning. After sitting for a few minutes, hostess walked by and gave us the impression that she wasn't the one to take drink or food orders, but since our waitress was no where to be found, the hostess got us a couple waters. She came back, saying the waitress was on the phone and it would take a few minutes. This experience is already not going well. After finding out the waitress was busy, I had to ask "when would we be able to put an order in? Because we're on a time crunch" and another available waitress comes to take our order. Food was decent! I got the St. Louis ribs and okra and wife ordered a burger. The fries were seasoned so well and the cook on the okra was great!! But the ribs on the other hand were very mediocre. The "spicy" bbq sauce wasn't all that spicy, just a tiny kick. The food was not at all the problem, it was the weird service. The place does feel older but it was decently clean. During the meal, I never saw the waitress that was on the phone, I wondered how long we would've had to wait just to put in an order if I didn't ask. Scale of 1-5, food was a 3.5 and service was a 2.5. We had felt that if they could, they would've just had us wait around on their time for us to get service. Most likely will not be visiting this place again.

Last time we had BBQ of this caliber was in Oklahoma, both wife and I were quite impressed. Definitely worth the time to get here, that and they have decent parking.

I have been so disappointed over the last few years. I just bought bacon from the meat department…read morebut it was torn in half - not whole slices of bacon! I have bought their cooked shrimpcto eat that night and twice it was rotten. The produce is not always great. The limes I just bought were dry. I needed three to get an ounce of juice. Then I spend 10 minutes logging into their app to get 2 dollars off a jar of pasta sauce. A saving grace is one time a woman working produce ask me if I needed help while I was logging in to get a digital coupon for a pineapple. She put a sticker on it with the sale price so I could move one with my day. It can be that easy.

Entering the state of Oregon means no sales tax for us Californians…read more We'd plan to be in Oregon for a week's stay so we wanted to load up on groceries. First thing first - refuel our gas tank. I used my sister's Fred Myer loyalty membership # to get a discount on gas. I think we saved three cents a gallon. The second time we didn't provide the number as it wasn't a big savings. In Oregon they have gas attendants to pump your gas. Years ago hubby got out of the car to pump gas and the attendant knew right away we were from California where we pump our own gas. Fred Myer is a like a Target, but on a larger scale. They sell clothes, garden supplies, household goods, food, bakery, deli etc. Their store layout is kind of weird. It's one floor. It looks more like an office building than a store at first glance. We saved $18 in groceries using my sister's Fred Myer loyalty membership #. The best edible was the Angel food cake found in the bakery department. I wished our local supermarket could replicate it.
