This is my wife and I first bus trip. We just returned from a six day five night trip from Michigan to Branson,Mo.. The trip and shows were fantastic, great seating at all the shows. Eric, our coach driver from Wisconsin Coachlines, was fantastic and knowledgeable. He got us around this town and on this trip in high fashion and safely. He told us stories about the different areas, buildings, and sights. The first night and the last night we stayed at Wyndam Hotel in St. Charles, MO. They were friendly and took care of everybodys needs. Super clean rooms , well maintained hotel, great breakfast buffet , etc. Now, for a review of the "motel" where Diamond Tours put us in while we were in Branson,MO for three nights. Upon pulling into the parking lot of the Quality Inn 2834 West Hwy 76, Branson, what a dump! Exterior of building was in need of a good cleaning and painting. Outside walkways and railing was touched up painting at best. Our room? There was a 1-2 inch gap under the entrance door that we stuffed with towels at night to keep the room quiet from outside noise and from any critter that might want to come into our room. Wall paper was buckled from moisture or from whatever, a 2 x 6 board was nailed above shower to hold the shower curtain rod up. The beds were full size ( not queen or king) and soft. The bathroom floor wasn't mopped before we got there or on any of the days we stayed there. Washclothes weren't replaced during our stay. Breakfast was served in another building that was uphill from the rooms, which made it difficult for some seniors and handicapped people in our group. Breakfast was the same every day, eggs, fruit, and pastries. No meat for breakfast. It seemed to myself and my wife, that nobody from Diamond Tours had ever checked out this motel. Yes, Diamond Tours had 29 busses in town this particular week. And, in talking to a Diamond Tour group out of Kentucky, they told us Diamond Tours had overbooked the number of tours for this week. So, Diamond Tours upgraded their tour group before they left home. At no extra charge , their group got upgraded to a Radisson Hotel! It would be nice, if Diamond Tours would treat all their guests with the same consideration. In talking to people in our group, they said Diamond Tours, are hit and miss for where they put you during your stay. We enjoyed our trip, but wonder where Diamond Tours concerns are. Is it on profits or on repeat customers and good reviews, with recommendations to future travelers? read more

Buyer Beware! This was the worst trip I have ever experienced. The Wyndham Hotel in New Orleans, LA, was unacceptable. The doors did not lock properly when closed. You had to pull the door shut to ensure it locked, which is a significant security issue. Someone from our group saw a large cockroach on the stairs. The hotel staff did not clean the rooms automatically; you had to request cleaning, but they don't inform you of this in advance. When I asked for extra soap, the man at the hotel counter gave me attitude and only provided one bar. I inquired about how DoorDash deliveries were handled and was told that I had to place orders at my own risk, as there was no guarantee they could get them to me. Many services on Instacart indicated they would not deliver to this hotel due to strict parking rules. To top it all off, we were late for EVERY tour we booked. The tours used National Trail Bus, and our bus driver was consistently late! I traveled with the Seniors in Motion group from Detroit to Louisiana from June 7th to June 13th. Clarence Guyton was our bus driver on Bus #1, #24668. He was very personable and helpful to passengers as they disembarked. However, I have some suggestions for improvement regarding Clarence's performance. On June 7th, Clarence was supposed to pick us up at 8:00 a.m., but he arrived over an hour late. This forced the seniors to stand and wait for him. Additionally, the bus was not clean when it arrived, so we had to return to the bus yard for cleaning. This delay extended our trip by three hours, and we did not depart until after 12:00 p.m. I suggest that when a bus driver arrives for a pickup, they should inspect the bus. If it is not clean, they should report it and ensure it is cleaned before departure. During our journey, we made a stop in Ohio. Clarence instructed us to return to the bus by 2:45 p.m., but when I got back, the bus was locked. He didn't return for over an hour, forcing the seniors to wait outside in the hot sun. I noticed that the driver of Bus #2, Annerion Lewis, kept her bus open for passengers. When she went to get food, she promptly returned to keep her bus accessible, showing thoughtful consideration for her senior passengers. On June 9th, we were scheduled to visit Mardi Gras World, and the Seniors in Motion director reminded Clarence about the importance of being on time for our tour. However, Clarence arrived an hour late again, showing up without any apology. He delivered an emotional monologue about needing to prioritize his rest because of a past car accident that resulted in 34 pins in his body. While his story may have been sincere, it felt unprofessional to play on the seniors' emotions, especially given that he was late again the next day. Because of his lateness, we lost an hour of our scheduled time at Mardi Gras World, which was unfair to us as paying customers. At Boomtown Casino, Clarence was supposed to pick us up at 8:00 p.m. to return us to our hotel. He stayed inside the casino while all the seniors waited outside. After 30 minutes, he finally arrived to open the bus at 8:30 p.m. On June 10th, despite being reminded once more that he needed to be on time for a tour at the Free People of Color Museum, Clarence was still 30 minutes late picking us up. He would always make excuses for his tardiness rather than offer apologies. This caused additional disappointment, as tour guides at various locations commented on our lateness and mentioned that we would miss parts of the tour. The presenter at the Free People of Color Museum had to cut her presentation short, and we only received 30 minutes of a tour that we had paid for, which was supposed to last an hour. After her presentation, we only had 5 minutes to view the artwork in the museum, which was not enough time. On a more positive note, I want to commend Annerion Lewis, the driver of Bus #2. She was incredible and consistently thoughtful. She kept her bus open, ensuring the seniors wouldn't have to wait outside in the heat. Annerion went above and beyond by providing water for her passengers and even assisted those who were not on her bus, including my mom. Everyone praised her professionalism and attentiveness. She truly provided top-notch service and made the trip more enjoyable for the seniors. read more

I wouldn't take another tour with them if they offered me a free tour to my favorite place on earth. Disorganized, poor quality hotels, dropping us off at truck stops and tourist traps. Horrible. They advertise a "motor coach with bathrooms and WiFi." So, it's a bus, with a bathroom we're only supposed to use for emergencies and warned to not poop in it. The WiFi works intermittently, as does the air conditioning. Stay far, far away. read more

Diamond Tours, booked with John Roberts. Trip to Mount Rushmore, Yellowstone, etc. May 16th to May 27th. I have traveled with several tour companies. This was without a doubt the worst trip I have ever been on. I will try to explain some of the reasons why. The morning we left, John Roberts (group leader) was late, then he unloaded the refreshments and snacks. Left and was gone for about 30 minutes. We could not even get seated on the bus because he had the seating assignments. The 1st nights lodging at Holiday Inn, Aurora North. Was very run down and dirty. I heard a couple of other people say that their rooms smelled like vomit. Most hotels were sub-standard. We were scheduled to stop in Chamberlain, S.Dak to see the Divinity Statue. We did not stop. John said that he was on the phone and missed it. Food at theColonial House restaurant was barely eatable. On Friday our evening meal was at Pizza Ranch, food was pretty good. On Saturday we were supposed to have dinner on our own. John Roberts told us that due to this being a holiday weekend there were no restaurants that could handle this many people. He ordered pizza with his own money. I didn't want pizza that late because of gastric problems, so he ordered me a salad. Prepaid meal at Ruby Tuesdays, my and my friend started to sit down with a couple of friends, John told us to sit somewhere else. He and the driver ended up sitting there. I thought that was very rude of him.the food was very disappointing, not like the normal food at Ruby Tuesdays. The ice cream for desert was not even a tablespoon full. Everyone was laughing about it, The guide at Yellowstone on our bus, ended up mostly talking about herself, her dog, her father, etc. I was very surprised that we did not stop at the Grand Prismatic Spring the largest spring in the USA. The guide said there was no parking for buses there. I'm almost sure I saw spots marked for buses. At Yellowstone before we departed the bus, we were told to be back on the bus at 1:30pm, Which was only about one hour and fifteen minutes. We rushed to eat and see what we could. We ran into John a little after one, he said the time was changed after we got off the bus to 2:30pm. He blamed the guide. It should have been settled before we left the bus. Prepaid buffet at Best Western Ramkoda was a joke, we were herded in like cattle and again the food was sub par. Last day coming home, John was asked by some people to stop at Cracker Barrel for lunch. He said he would try. At lunch time I noticed he passed up 2 exits that had Cracker Barrel's. We ate at Hardee's. One big problem we had was eating lunch late and then 2 or 3 hours having supper. This happened two or three times. I attended the five day Niagara Falls and Toronto tour. This package included lodging which supposedly would be in the Niagara Falls area. (Not true) 8 meals which included 4 breakfasts and 4 dinners. All the dinners with the exception of the last group dinner was held at a variety of buffet style restaurants. All of the meals were sub standard with the exception of the last meal. For example the Flames Castle restaurant located in Mississauga food was old, unhealthy, cold and the restaurant was dirty. It was so bad it looked like the board of health should have closed the premises down. No healthy food options were available. Basically, high in fats, carbs, and greased foods. Another negative is that the tour guides itinerary for shopping options included overpriced location that was isolated from the falls. Most likely he would be receiving kickbacks for sales. Thereby avoiding spending time at Niagara Falls. read more

If getting off the bus for 15 minutes to take a picture of a Cape Cod or Martha's Vineyard landmark after 4 days on a bus is your dream vacation, if 8 hours on a bus with one pit stop and no dinner stop is your idea of a great way to travel, if a scheduled 2 hr museum stop turns into 30 minutes because "no one is interested" sounds fun, if eating dinner 2.5 hrs after you eat lunch works for your digestive system (because experiencing the museum is wasted time), if not doing a headcount after a meal and leaving tour participants behind at the restaurant is an adventure you'd like to experience, then the Diamond Tours to Cape Cod & Martha's Vineyard out of Hattiesburg MS on 6/5/26 would have been your ideal trip! For someone who has been on multiple Diamond Tours, this was the absolute worst experience ever! Tour Leader and spouse held the entire itinerary hostage, changing it every day and giving us virtually no time for Martha's Vineyard or Cape landmarks. Could have taken an early ferry to MV island, but leader opted for later one with no chance to book an island tour (total island time 3 hrs included getting lunch). Called to complain to Diamond-their response: "tour leaders are not Diamond employees, so there's nothing we can do other than to log your dissatisfaction." Do yourself a favor and avoid all Diamond trips out of Hattiesburg in case you get stuck with these charlatans! It is not worth your time, money, or frustration. read more

This was the third tour with Diamond. Let out of Fairfield Texas Going ro Branson.. Nov17-Nov.22,2025... The hotel we stayed in Branson was outdated, light plugs would not hold. There were no USB ports. Furniture was old ,scratched and the sheets were so worn and thin..the staff was unfriendly and never at the desk. The room for breakfast was locked after 1030am.. Terrible place. Scenic Hills Inn in Branson. Checked their web site. The room was listed as $68 per night!! We were originally set to stay at the Ozark Lodge in Branson, but the week before it was changed to the Scenic Hills. Because of this I will never book another trip with Diamond Tours. Also our bus driver gave all the orders.. When we leave, hurry unpaid stops and no shopping We also waited for our bus home at a Cracker Barrel for 2 hours!!! Due to the rushed return home! It has taken me a few days to recover from the Diamond Tours New Orleans trip. I am very displeased with the entire experience. The ONLY good thing about the trip was the bus driver and the people on the bus. This was the WORST TRIP EVER! I WILL NEVER do a bus tour again! The hotels were sub-par, at best, with TERRIBLE continental breakfasts (cold coffee, taco meat for breakfast, cold, watery eggs ) the hotel kept running out of food and we had to literally knock on a door for someone to come out and replenish. The restaurant stops were also sub-par. The quality of food was poor (Sicily Italian, Picadilly's, Landry's). Some of the staff at each of the restaurants were rude and uninviting. The bus leaked water drops over one passenger's head. The bathroom had a very putrid smell upon flushing, leaving the entire bus with a foul odor. The driver finally rectified the problem, but it took more than one attempt. There was a room mix-up with guests at the Sonesta ES Suites (WILL NEVER STAY HERE AGAIN). One of the rooms had bugs. This made me research reviews, and during my research, I discovered that there were SEVERAL reviews with bed bugs! As a tour guide, I found Toni Johnston to be unenthused, impersonal, and with no real sense of humor. Her lack of enthusiasm made the itinerary stops even more unappealing. The guided tour was awful...no one was paying attention, people were on their phones because the tour lacked excitement. She seemed to be doing the job for the sake of doing the job. I found it interesting that Diamond Tours target travelers who are retired senior citizens, however, several of the itinerary stops were not supportive of physically challenged travelers. The RiverWalk Mall was very difficult for some physically challenged travelers to maneuver. The food court was soooo far inside that they had to stop numerous times to rest before continuing their journey (this should have been prefaced in an overview BEFORE people exited the bus). Mardi Gras World and the World War ll Museum required wayyyy too much walking. They need to do a better job of choosing itineraries that are best suited to support physically challenged individuals and that are also interesting enough for people to want to be there for more than 2 hours. Mardi Gras World was really THE ONLY itinerary that immersed us in New Orlean culture. Again...WORST TRIP I HAVE EVER TAKEN AND I WOULD NEVER recommend this company to ANYONE! I am submitting this as a review on several sites so people can make a more informed decision when choosing a tour bus company and pre-packaged itineraries that have nothing to do with the culture of the destination. Personally, I will be opting to pay the extra money for a quality vacation in the future. This was the WORST EXPERIENCE on a bus I have everrrrr had, a total waste of money, annnnd 0 out of 10... Diamond Tours - Charleston Before I signed up for a Diamond bus tour, I asked 2 questions of the bank sponsor - 1. What hotels are we staying at? I voiced my concerns not wanting to stay at hotels that were lower ratings, or dirty. 2. How comfortable were the buses? (I had never taken a tour bus) I was assured that we were staying at "Nice" hotels that all had good ratings and the bus was new and very comfortable. The hotels we stayed at were minimal. Several had deferred maintenace inside and out, such as a warped bathroom door that would not shut, filthy carpets, nasty shower growth around the grout and trim, flaking interior walls and bath ceiling damage due to lack of proper venting. The bus was new, but comfortable was the last adjective I would use to describe the seats. The seats were hard material, and had limited reclining options. Many of the "lunch on your own en route" would be more accurately described as another WALMART stop! Once we arrived at Charleston, we had some time to explore and enjoy the city. The Charleston restaurants I went to were exceptional. The tour planned trip to McLoad Plantation, Charleston Tea Garden, Eiteljorg Museum, & the Spiritline cruise were enjoyable. The bus driver was professional. The group leaders were pleasant and tried to accommodate as best they could. In the future, group leaders should share the hotel information when asked. We all have different standards and expectations. Based on my experience, I do not recommend a Diamond Tour. read more

I have traveled 4 times with Diamond but in august had to cancel a trip! if you do not personally know your group leader be very careful! I joined a group via Diamond website and when I had to cancel the group leader did not communicate with me regarding my refund and when it was sent to her refused to mail it to me saying I had to drive 9 hours to another state to pick it up!!! Thoughtout this ordeal Diamond would only say it had to be worked out with the leader and would give me no assistance!!! So they will not communicate or help you get your refund!!! I will never use them again!! it was a terrible ordeal!!!! Also when I called them the person on phone was extremely rude!! read more

It's low budget for a reason. Busses are noisy and not well maintained. Uncomfortable seats and you spend too much time on the bus. We took a trip from Indianapolis to Caoe Cod and one of the stops on the way home was lunch at a casino. Wasted time, too long and nobody on the bus wanted to gamble. We did have a good tour guide that stepped on the bus when we got to cape cod. But it's a hard pass for me to ever take one again. Hotels were ejist so so and one of them did not have the breakfast like was promised. read more

Our worst trip yet with diamond. Bus driver did not clear customs. Returned to usa to get new driver only to find out non available till next day. Had to get bus from Buffalo new driver to take thru customs and to hotel which arrived at 11pm due in at 8. Driver told us it was trumps fault due to stirring up all the tarifs with Canada. Politics doesn't belong on trips. OFFENSIVE Tuesday morning new bus new driver still no bus or diamond driver everything borrowed from Buffalo. Received them late Tuesday after we unloaded belongings to take to dinner with us. Hotel was terrible roaches bad breakfast everyday even had a bug in our dinner last night. Very big disappointment for diamond. Our diamond provided driver talked on phone whole time. Also didn't dump toilet. We uad no facilities to use which I believe is code violation. This was my first and last Diamond Tour trip. I was on a tour from Crescent Beach Fl to Lancaster PA. 1. The bus used must have been a old school bus. The shocks were very bad as every bump was felt. The seats could not be laid back. 2. A lot of the stops for food at lunch were truck stops. 3. The meals that were served were nothing special. The first meal main course was suppose to be pasta with white sauce is my guess. Then a pasta dish with red sauce that tasted like ketchup. The salad ended up as my main course. Then there was the meal with a frozen semi defrosted pre-made brownie. 3. The stops were short and did not really have a chance to look around. 4. The bathroom was not to be used. read more

First time with Diamond Tours (group of 4 who joined a larger group). This trip was to Mackinac Island and Sault Saint Marie in September 2025. (Leaving from Illinois) While it was very nice to have things prearranged, the timing seemed to be an issue at almost every location we went to. There seemed to be way to many situations where it was hurry up and wait. As in, be on the bus at this time ( usually earlier than even the schedule indicated), and then when arrived at the destination, we would have to wait around because we were way early. In addition, another Diamond Tour group coming from Pennsylvania had almost an identical schedule as ours, so instead of 45 people arriving somewhere at the same time, there were closer to 90 all going to the same restaurant or tourist site, at the same time, when it should have been staggered a bit. The people from the Pennsylvania bus, also indicated they had the same issues. I understand that they don't want to be late, but it got a bit ridiculous the amount of waiting time we had. The tourist sites we vited were interesting, and the restaurants adequate. The lodgings were maybe 2 or 3 star, but comfortable enough. Overall, I would probably give them another try as they do seem to have many favorable reviews. So this might have been a one time thing. read more

Just completed a 9 day bus tour to San Antonio, TX from Sarasota, FL with Diamond Tours. This was a first bus trip for me and it will certainly be my last. I found it to be very disorganized and poorly managed. The quality of restaurants along the way, as well as when we arrived in San Antonio were pretty bad. EX:. Golden Corral. Really! My only decent meal was when I went off on my own to a restaurant of my choice. Hotels were basic at best. Our hotel in San Antonio was so far out of town and off the beaten track with no conveniences available if needed. After 7 days I had had enough of spending 10 hour days on a bus. I booked a flight home and called an Uber......So glad I did . Never again. read more

The time to drive to destinations allows for the opportunity to see the countryside and some stops along the way, not to mention the opportunity for camaraderie on the bus while reaching your destination. Previously, me and my wife had taken two diamond tours that were very good. However a trip to New Orleans in April 2020 changed that. First the bus driver and group leaders did a good job. This is all on Diamond Tours. On 4/2/2023 we arrived at the Wingate, InnGoodetsville TN. We arrived at approximately 5 PM. Fellow travelers were standing in the lobby about an hour later still waiting to be checked in for up to two hours to get their room! Unacceptable Plus the next morning their was hardly any thing for breakfast. During the trip Diamond Tours provided 4 dinners included in the price of the trip Three were at a buffet. The other one was at Landry's Seafood Restaurant on Decatur Street. The bus driver was told not to drop us off in front of the resturant, because according to our Diamond Representative (who stated "the New Orleans trip is a tough one), it is against the law to drop off passengers in front of the restaurant. Well, handicapped individuals had to walk several blocks, and one almost passed out! We finally get to the place and our selections were grilled chicken, fried shrimp and pasta. The grilled chicken was over cooked. The Shrimp and fries were a skimpy serving and when we asked for bread that was an extra charge! When you go to New Orleans you want to experience the New Orleans food. For dinner we get fried shrimp and chicken, chicken and Chicken! Trip to Toronto, Canada June 1 to June 9 originating from Lillian, AL. This was my first experience w/bus travel. It was a terrible initiation! The driver appeared very accommodating the first 2 days, but that quickly wore off and we then were treated like a herd of cattle. The bus was equipped with camp-style toilet. For a 1,000+ mile trip it was very inadequate & he made it very clear he DID NOT want the toilet used. Even stating all we had to do was let him know we had an emergency stop and he would STOP!! There were persons on the bus with mobility issues. A small step ladder would have assisted with embarking & debarking the bus, but was not provided! The general cleanliness of the bus was taken care of by the passengers by collecting trash several times during each day by one passenger!! It didn't take very long to figure out the driver of the bus was just LAZY. He was also on his headset constantly during the trip to & from Toronto and appeared to be on personal calls. He preferred fast food and his favorite appeared to be Hardee's. The other food scheduled on our round trip excursion was very poor!! Lone Star was the worst and would even say inedible. Food was cold, very skimpy & extremely disorganized when being served!! The servers came out carrying a few plates and calling out what was on the plates & then being claimed by the diners!! It was terrible. There was also Covid cases reported by the travelers after returning that were infected during the last day of travel!! The bus being the only common denominator!! The only positive comments were Texas Roadhouse stop, the food & service was exceptional!! We did arrive at originating point earlier than scheduled, which was greatly appreciated!! my first and last trip with diamond tours, the trip started out good but after three days, it went south when we were in Vermont. At the motel the stool was leaking water. I notified the front desk and they would have maintaince look at it. The second night it still was leaking. It had mold underneath the tank along with water on the floor. The next day the bus driver got lost going down to Syrcause. That night the motel was very poor, Comfort Inn. The dead bolt to the room was broken along with mold in the bathroom. The carpet was very dirty. The next night was another Comfort Inn which was a little better but still not adequate. Rooms were hot. Took 3 hours to cool the room down. Now for the bus and driver, Howie I think. He was always in the left lane tailgating other cars. He was always running 80 MPH. IN CONSTRUCTION ZONES if the speed limit was 55 he would run 65 to 70 MPH. He was always whipping back and forth when changing lanes. I think that's probably what caused the one lady heart to give her problems and she ended up in the hospital at Toledo Ohio. Furthermore, when I questioned the Bus engine exhaust leak he said no It doesn't. It was a truck that we passed back in Vermont. Well it must have followed us all the way home. Still could smell it every day since then for the last three Days, He didn't like my attitude when I questioned him on it and he threatened to kick me off the bus and call the sheriff. Twice we were told a replacement Bus was coming and twice they said it was canceled. Collecting a tip for the Driver before we start our Journey is ridiculous. I asked 3 different times for my money back. Finally got it. I will never take Bus Tour ever again epically with Diamond Tours and Classic Coach. read more

I just came back from an awful 7-day/6-night trip to New Orleans with 45 other black seniors. This trip was a waste of time and money. The trip was booked through Diamond Tours for just under $1,000 apiece. We were expecting a large, spacious bus like others from previous Diamond Tours trips; our bus was far from comfortable. The seats were so crammed together - you couldn't stretch your legs out or put your headrest back. Everyone had swollen feet and ankles by the end of the day every day. Included in the price of the trip were several paid dinner options along the way that were terrible. To add insult to injury, they put us in a neighborhood hotel, The Comfort Inn in Marrero, which was 20 minutes outside of New Orleans and far from the sights and sounds of Bourbon St. The hotel looks nothing like the photos online and sits next to a Dollar Tree store on one side and used tires on the other. Upon entering the hotel, we were overcome by a foul, musty smell and disgusted by the dirty, brown carpet. It was immediately obvious we were in a 1-star fleabag hotel; what we didn't anticipate were ACTUAL bugs. That's right, my friend stayed in a room two doors down from us and had BED BUGS with visible BITES on her neck, arms, and back. Regarding the activities, I don't know who thought the World War II museum, a slave plantation, and the other attractions were appropriate for seniors given the amount of walking required, especially for so many of us with limited mobility. The thought of going to New Orleans and not having the option to go out for an evening of jazz, Zydeco music and authentic New Orleans food boggles the imagination. I held out hope for the last night's events, and was bewildered that their idea of an evening of entertainment consisted of doing the "hokey pokey" and line dancing at what felt like a senior community center. I am extremely disappointed with the planning and execution of this trip, but I recognize my experience may not have been the same as others. Two groups of white seniors that we befriended on the trip, who also came on trips sponsored by Diamond Tours, who said they paid the SAME amount as we did, were on MUCH nicer buses and stayed in the heart of the French Quarter. read more

September, 2023 Cape Cod Tour During our tour, one of our bus tour members passed away while we were on Martha's Vineyard (an island). We immediately communicated with Diamond and received NO support for the bereaved husband or the other members of the tour. We were repeatedly asked by the Diamond Rep. if the husband had insurance which had nothing to do with the logistics help that we were asking for. The bus members bonded together and arranged using Uber to pick up the husband, transport him to our hotel (45 minutes away), and then assist him to get home. Diamond provided no support and after the incident, we heard nothing from them. Our local Tour Guide and Bus driver, who DO NOT work for Diamond, were excellent. As far as the trip. the logistics were terrible. Our hotel was approximately 45 minutes from our tour locations, we ended up, due to traffic, being in the bus an additional 2 hours each day going to and from our hotel. Due to weather, we were forced to change our landing location on Martha's Vineyard. We were then told that we needed to board a public transportation bus (holds 30 people), pay the fee, and travel 20 minutes to reach our original destination. There were 8 busloads of people who arrived on the island. Diamond alone had 186 people. WE all arrived at the same time and attempted to get on a bus. Do the math on how long it took. At one point we were on the Lower cape, had to travel past our hotel for dinner that was an hour away. With the exception of 1 meal, the food was mediocre. The Diamond staff at the food locations were rude. Given the callous behavior of the Diamond team, I recommend you choose another option. Pat B read more

I have done several trips with Diamond. I will do 2 this year. I cannot express how much I have loved doing this. I am a widow, best way to travel for me and meet people all over the country. Hotels have been top notch. could never do this on my own at the cost...highly recommend. read more

I just got back from a 9 day bus tour to New Mexico through the Godley Park District. I was not impressed at all with the accommodations. The first place we stayed at did not have a room for me. They gave my room away and then was told they didnt know what happened. The desk clerk also had a horrible additude and acted like we were annoying her because she had to find me a room. Very snotty. The bus was awful. Everyone was crammed into thier seats and we were also told that the toilet was to be used in emergencies only. Not a good thing to hear with a bus full of seniors. The trip was NOT geared towards seniors. We had long days without a break, we had long periods on the bus and stopped at gas stations for our lunches, with most not having anywhere to sit, so some of us had to either not eat or stand and wait for a table to sit. We had sites scheduled that some could not even go to because the conditions were not safe for unstable seniors, me included. We went to bass pro shop for 2 1/2 hours. What a waste of time. So for most of that time allot of the seniors just sat. There was to much walking around for some of the seniors that had walking issues. This needs to be addressed before we take a trip that will be to hard for us. The last stop of the trip I went to get my overnight bag and it was soak and wet all the way through. All my clothes and other things in that bag were affected. I had to throw away two books and the paper box to my perfume. I had to go to a dryer and stand for another 30 minutes while my overnight clothes got dried. The bus driver was like oh well and the tour guide handed me 2.00 in quarters and said the dryer is on the second floor. I will nevergo on another Diamond Tour again. I hope someone reads this and takes into consideration that some of us want to travel even with limitations so bus tour companies are the best for some of us but they need to know their customer before accepting thier money. read more

If I could give negative I would. I'm on a Diamond Tour right now. It's not good. It's a 5 night 6 day to Mackinaw island. We spent eight hours in Mackinaw. One night was spent in Flint,MI. Three nights were spent in Sault St Marie, and tonight back to Flint before heading home. Why is it billed for Mackinaw when only eight hours are there? I would have never booked for that short amount of time. We also spend way way way touch time on the bus. That means we don't see many attractions. Not planning on taking another read more

Just returned from a trip to NYC and Philly arranged by this group. If u like having to wait till after 8AM to eat breakfast and dinner at 4:30PM, this is the tour company for you. Additionally, our group was put up in a hotel that is right off the highway outside of NYC; the noise from the continuous traffic was bad. Making it even worse was the tires hitting the metal plates as it started on the bridge less than 50 feet away. Day 1 and 2, we were taken to The 9/11 Museum, The new World Trade Bldg, Ellis Island, and the Statue of Liberty. Third day in NYC was spent with the guide mostly pointing out names of buildings and which celebrity lived in which neighborhoods. Total waste of time. A visit to The Tenement Museum, The Cloisters, or any other of the city's fabulous would have been a better choice. Never again with this company. read more

Melisa booked The Ramada Pigeon Forge North. My 1st room had mold in the bath tub, The 2nd "newly renovated" room had a torn sheet, mold around the toilet and rust around the overflow in the bathtub. Melisa also booked the cheapest buffets style dinners. Shoney's on the 1st night and Golden Corral on the last night. One night we went to Harpoon Harry's crab house and was given a choice of pork or chicken. The bus driver was great but the bus was not. We were told the toilet on the bus was for emergency only and to use the bathrooms at the rest stops. The video player had a crackling noise so loud that the movie could not be heard. In this year, 2024, I expected that the bus would have individual ports for patrons to customize the volume and or channel/movie to watch like the airlines do. read more

Diamond Tours - tour #2099008 This is a formal complaint about Diamond Tours tour #2099008 which I purchased thru Sharon Guitreau in Louisiana. Her assistant guide was Shirley Miller Guitreau. This tour consisted of two buses traveling together (and I say that loosely) because we did not "actually travel together" as we were told no one could accommodate the 2 buses so we ate at different locations, slept at different locations and went did not meet up at any location once we got to Niagara Falls in Ontario, Canada. The first day, Saturday, 06/08/24, started out fine and we boarded our buses (some of us boarded in Gonzales, La and some boarded in Denham Springs, La) and headed to our respective overnight accommodations and arrived there Saturday night a little behind schedule. Day two, Sunday, (06/09/24), we continued on to our destination and were scheduled to stop at the Johnny Cash Museum in Nashville, Tenn. When we got there it was very busy as there was fan day going on and our driver did not appear to know what to do or where to park to let us off so it was decided we would miss that tour. Instead the driver and Diamond trip facilitator decided to take us to Opry Mills mall (to kill some time assume) as none of us were on trip to stop at a shopping mall. Myself and a lot of others were personally not happy with this choice although I will admit some said "lets just skip it" and they were louder than the rest of us so there we went. We had a dinner reservation at 6:15PM and could not be early so that is why I guess we had to kill some time after not stopping at the museum. Day three, Monday, 06/10/24, we continued on to our destination and there was no stop planned for that day and made it to Niagara Falls, Ontario that night where we would stay for 4 nights. Meals were on our own and no tour stops were scheduled that day. Day four, Tuesday, 06/11/24, we were scheduled to tour Casa Loma castle and the traffic was so horrendous on our way to and from this stop that we had to cut short our time there and then we drove back to our hotel stopping at a Canadian super store because our Canadian tour guide said we needed to buy our snacks as cheaply as possible to save us money on our trip. We arrived back at our hotel for a meal that night. The meal consisted of chicken, fish a couple of vegetables and a dessert and beverage. Day five, Wednesday, 06/12/24, we were scheduled to tour Welland Canals Centre which we did. We went to Niagara on the Lake and had lunch on our own and strolled around the town on our own. Then we toured a winery and a chocolate factory (not on our iteneriary). After touring the winery and chocolate factory we were driven to the Best Western Conference Center (and this term is definitely used loosely as it in no way resembled a "conference center") and it was stated on our itinerary that we were to arrive at "Wrigleys" which we assumed we would be eating a meal. Instead we were paraded thru the restaurant and led to a back room where we were served a meal of chicken, fish, a couple of vegetables, dessert and a beverage. The exact same meal we had on Tuesday (the only thing different was the way the potatoes were cooked). Not what any of were expecting nor were we very happy. Day six, Thursday, 06/13/24. This day was perfect and went according to the itinerary. We had some members on our tour who approached our tour guide in the early morning before we even left about just skipping the casino part of the tour. By this time the rest of us were sick of a few people wanting to change up things on the itinerary because they did not want to participate and our tour guide and bus driver went along with it so we spoke up as a group. It was decided those of us who wanted would get off the bus at the casino and the driver would take back the other participants to the hotel and come back and pick us up at the appointed time. Day seven, Friday, 06/14/24. We began our trip home. We left at 8:30AM as per our schedule. We arrived at the US border area and the driver told us to get off and browse the store at the duty free shop. Most of us were not interested in this but got off because he basically told us this was stop and to shop. Then we went thru customs and of course this was a process and took a little while. We got on the road and then we were due to stop at the Cleveland Museum of Natural History. Well, we were behind and the driver told Shirley our tour guide that we would have to cut this stop from 1.5 hours to 1 hour. Then by the time we got to the museum Shirley told us we were behind and weren't going to make that stop. There were some on bus who agreed because they did not want to get off us anyway. At that time I spoke up and made the statement that some of us wanted to see the museum and that it was on our itinerary. Day 8 went the same as day 1 thru 7 - utter chaos and no control over tour whatsoever by Diamond Tour facilitator. read more

We did a senior trip to Santa Fe & Albuburque in May We were told not to use the restroom on the bus (only for emergencies) We were booked at the Comfort Inn & Suites Downtown 411 McKnight Ave. NW. On arrival, we were told by our driver now to go outside the building alone as it was unsafe because of homeless people camped outside the hotel. The hotel backs up to Interstate. 24 hour traffic! The entire hotel smelled (not a clean smell. We had COCKROACHES in our room. Front desk would not change our room only commented that hadn't happened previously. Front desk personnel also put out breakfast items without gloves or washing hands after walking over from desk. The day before we were going to head home, cops arrive and were walking the outside perimeter with guns drawn. The first night we went to a restaurant that had not idea we were coming (36 people) Another night the Golden Corral put us in a confined area. We went to get food. They moved our location to different tables as another party arrived. The Crown Plaza hosted a enjoyable buffet with table cloths and cloth napkins. On our way home, someone needed to use restroom as it had been a few hours of travel. They could not be talked into using the bus restroom because of how we were told NOT to. We stopped at a fast food restaurant were a number of people went to use the restrooms there. We could go on and on and on. Needless to say we do not recommend this tour company It was horrible!! read more

TERRIBLE. Will never go with this company again. We went with a group of seniors to Vermont for a week. The bus was terrible, uncomfortable, with few amenities. The first thing we got was a lecture of not to use the bathroom unless it was an absolute emergency. The people were shamed into not using it. The ride, through Canada, was two days long at almost 10-11 hours a day with lousy stops to eat at truck stops with not many options of healthy choices. The paid buffet dinners were mediocre at best. The excursions were mostly shopping and they always had way too much time left to fill with us standing around waiting for the bus to open back up. Then, all of a sudden on the last two days,they changed out our bus driver because of some problem. First, they get us a new driver in another bus and have E drive the old bus back to the hotel with our luggage. They said he was "tired". Well, if he was so tired why would the Tour company have him continue to drive in that condition. The next day we gets going and all of a sudden, he turns the bus around and goes back to the hotel, which by the way wasn't the best in the first place, and they make him get off the bus and replace him. Meanwhile, he has to do the walk of shame in front of all of us. The lies that were told were ridiculous. The descriptions of the excursions was a joke. They called one place in Vermont a Marketplace. It was a city block of stores. Ben and Jerry's was great, along with a maple syrup farm. All in all, I wouldn't take a taxi ride with this company. Do your research before ever booking with Diamond Tours. read more

NYC tour. The itinerary is what caught my eye. The trip ended up being awful from uncomfortable bus seats to the guides not following the itinerary at all. We only got to see two things on the itinerary. We were taken to sights NOT on the itinerary and of little to no interest to us. We were not happy about this trip, our first-ever bus tour and most likely our last. We will NEVER book with Diamond Tours or The Art of Travel in St. Louis. Never seen such an unorganized disaster. Just got back from myrtle Beach s.c. Worst hotels ever, mattresses were horrible. Couldn't wait to get back home. Save your money.
