This was my first time participating in an exhibition at this gallery, as I had been considering becoming a member. Unfortunately, my experience was extremely disappointing. Two weeks after the exhibition opened, I discovered that my artwork had been incorrectly labeled. Although I had clearly stated in my submission form that my work is "mixed media," it was presented as "watercolor." This is not a minor mistake--anyone with even basic knowledge of art can easily recognize that my work is not watercolor. Mislabeling directly affects how viewers perceive the artwork and can influence voting and audience feedback. I contacted the gallery by email to request a correction, but received no response. After repeated follow-ups over three consecutive days, I finally received a reply on the fourth day confirming that the label had been corrected. Such delays and lack of accountability are not acceptable in a professional environment. Throughout this experience, I felt that there was insufficient attention to professional conduct and respect for artists--especially emerging ones. I also sensed a difference in the way I was treated compared to others, which made me feel overlooked and unwelcome. In addition, when I inquired about the possibility of offering smaller works suitable for sale in the gift shop, my request was immediately dismissed without any review of my work. Only after I insisted did I send examples of my pieces, which I believe deserved proper consideration, yet my request was still not evaluated fairly. Due to this overall experience, I ultimately decided to withdraw my artwork from the exhibition. I did not want my work to continue being misrepresented or treated without proper respect. To make matters worse, the refund process for the $40 exhibition fee was handled carelessly. The gallery issued the check incorrectly three times, each time misspelling my last name. In the end, I had to write my name on a piece of paper to ensure the check was finally issued correctly. I also witnessed another artist whose ceramic work, valued at $1,000, was damaged while in the gallery's care. She was understandably upset, and this raised further concerns about how artworks are handled and stored. Overall, this gallery falls far short of the professional standards expected from an art institution. There appears to be unfair treatment of artists, with decisions seemingly influenced by personal relationships and favoritism, which is also quite evident on their social media presence. I sincerely hope that in the future this gallery improves in terms of communication, professionalism, fairness, and respect toward artists.

We walked to…read morethe barn where the animals were, and when we tried to enter, one of the girls (had a blue TROTR t-shirt on) abruptly said, "Where's your ticket?" I told her that I didn't know we needed tickets and she told me I had to go to the booth by the food trucks if I wanted to enter. Ok. My granddaughter and I walked towards the other section and decided to stop at the 'Authentic Tacos' truck to get bottled waters (it was warm outside). I said, "Hi!" to the guy at the open window, who barked, "We aren't taking any more orders!" I said that I just wanted a couple of bottles of water, he said, "Yeah, I guess" and got the two bottles. He stood there holding them until I asked how much, I gave him $4, and said thank you, but he didn't say anything. Next, we went to the ticket booth, a woman sitting there said, "What do you need?"...not "hi", " hello" or any type of greeting, just, "What do you need?" I said that we wanted to see the animals in the barn, she ripped off 4 tickets, and said, "$20". Ok. We walked back to the barn, saw about 10 animals, and left. The teens swept right in front of us without an "excuse me". What happened to teaching manners? The only friendly person was the woman at the entrance who made us sign waivers. First and last time supporting that local nonprofit! I apologized to my granddaughter and we went to Home Goods for some much-needed retail therapy.

They have a really small bleacher area, but those aren't close to the soccer field. So bring your chairs. The only bathroom was locked and we were told to go into the community center if we needed to use the bathroom. Once the game was over the community center doors were locked, so no bathrooms for anyone to use.

Parking was easy, they have 2 large lots. They even have solar panels so you can park in the shade. Soon as you pull in the first few spots were for seniors. We took a spot to the left of the Senior Spots. We walked in the front door. The place looked closed. No one was in the customer service booths. The gates were down on the right so we walked left. We easily found the bathrooms on the left. They were clean and well supplied, except for the first sink, it was out of soap. Once exiting the bathrooms we saw the signed table at the end of the hallway. We walked toward it and were happily greeted by Yolo Cares staff. We were set up in one of the meeting rooms. The room was airy and pleasant. A little on the cool side, but I wore my sweater so it was the perfect Temperature. The technology system worked perfect. The presentation used both the projector for a PowerPoint presentation and the microphone so we could hear them. There was no feedback and the lighting was perfect. Half the room was set up like a classroom and the other half of the room had round tables with chairs around it for lunch. It was the prefect set up. The location was perfect. I'd come back for another event or presentation.

In a few sessions, Kirsten helped me to completely overcome issues that I'm sure would have taken me many years to overcome in traditional talk therapy. Kirsten is a gifted healer with a compassionate heart and open mind. She listens carefully and is able to craft uniquely perfect individual tapping sessions. I have not only found EFT Tapping to be helpful recently, but I'm sure that it will be a tool that I can carry forward in the future. I feel very fortunate and blessed to have found Kirsten.

Now she teaches Kundalini Yoga and that allows me to continue on my path of self-love. When I first started working with her ADD was really holding me back - I was taking medication for it. I have been coming to Woodland Strides as an undergraduate volunteer and working with Amy Oettle…read more Amy is absolutely amazing with kids, parents, volunteers, students, horses, you name it! I have worked with Amy with multiple different clients and have seen so much progress and growth in all of them. I think that Amy does a great job connecting with parents and providing parent education before, during, and after sessions so parents are aware of how OT and hippotherapy are helping their child, and I've heard many grateful and positive feedback from parents and caregivers. Amy also makes OT fun for the clients! Clients enjoy playing games, making crafts, and learning horseback riding all while improving gross and visuomotor skills, fine motor skills, core strength, emotion regulation, body awareness, and executive functioning. Amy takes the time to make sure that I am learning constantly and getting the most out of my volunteer experience and really solidified my knowledge and passion in the field of occupational therapy. I enjoy coming back every week to connect with the kids and watch them grow. Two of my favorite moments were listening to a client excitedly tell Amy and me about all the progress he had made over the past week in between sessions and how he had applied his skills at school. Another moment was really heartwarming when we saw a client go out of his comfort zone and try a new food. Emily is amazing as well, and is a key part of the hippotherapy sessions. I really enjoy working with her and she is excellent in handling the horses, keeping the clients safe while riding, and emphasizing the importance of communicating respectfully before, during, and after riding.

The only book with Palestine in the title was on display, but on the back cover it specified that it recounts the "experiences of Zionist women settling in Palestine", and not indigenous Palestinians. I scanned the shelf and didn't see a single book about Palestine, despite a fair number on Israel. Given how charged this topic is with the ongoing genocide in Gaza, I felt uncomfortable as it seemed that the bookstore had taken an intentional stance by not providing, at the very least, accounts of both sides of the matter.
