I found a gorgeous unique estate monkey with black diamonds for the eyes and his head and body encrusted in small pave diamonds in 14 it. Gold!! It is exactly what I needed to comfort my shattered momma heart after my beautiful first born son 27 years old suffered from a Traumatic Brain Injury for 10 years He lost hope and chose suicide 7/4/1986-12/17/2013 I am very grateful to Diamonds by the Sea for having the perfect symbol to remind of my son, Afsheen Cyrus who had a stuffed monkey he won somewhere and it had extra long arms and legs that he would hang around his neck and as it hung from the front of his neck he would strut around and be funny with it!!! Beautiful jewelry and amazing service. We live in another town but since we were in Newport, we stopped here to have my watchband sized. McKenzie graciously took care of it for me and after visiting awhile I asked her opinion on my diamond wedding ring, which I'd had worked on by a jeweler at home. I'd never been happy with the work the hometown guy had done. McKenzie suggested an easy fix (her term, not mine) if I was willing to leave the ring a few days. When I returned my ring was so beautiful all I could do was repeatedly say "Wow". And then she refused to charge me! Of course, while visiting the store I had to peruse the amazing selection of new and antique jewelry. In the end, my husband had to drag me away from a stunning pair of diamond and emerald earrings. As a company that prides themselves on being there for the locals, I felt that Diamonds by the Sea was not there for me or my fiancé in what should have been a very happy experience. My fiancé bought my engagement ring from this establishment and I had worn it for only 3 weeks when I noticed I had lost 2 gems. I called Diamonds by the Sea and was told that it was due to the metal my fiancé had chosen and it was a common occurrence. They assured me that it would be fixed right away. At this time I asked the one of the employees if I would be able to purchase some sort of warranty to cover any repairs the ring would need during its lifetime. I was informed by them that they do not provide warranty's past the 6 months it comes with, because they thought they were a "scam." They assured me that, with their product, there shouldn't be a need to pay for a warranty. I had my ring repaired and mailed back to me. The minute I took the ring out of the bag, I noticed there was STILL a gem missing. It had come back without one. I called DBS back and had to have it repaired one more time. At this time I let the owner, Kathryn Heater, know that I hardly ever wore my ring because I was afraid I would keep losing gems and she let me know that I should absolutely be able to wear it during normal daily activities without issues. Once again it was repaired without charge because we were still covered under the 6 month warranty. I work in healthcare so I've chosen not to wear my ring at work, I only put it on during weekends and I still do not wear it when I sleep, take a shower, clean the house, or other daily activities. Recently, I decided to wear my ring and noticed that I was missing ANOTHER gem. I called DBS and spoke with Kathryn who said to come in right away and they'll get it fixed up. I was very hopeful that this experience would go as well as the others, but I was wrong. The minute I walked into that store Kathryn ignored my presence and let an assistant manager speak with me while she sat in the corner listening. The manager told me it would cost me $50 to repair the ring and that it would undoubtedly happen again and that eventually, we would pay more in repairs than the ring was worth. It wasn't until we said it didn't seem right that we had to pay for a ring that had had so many problems already, that Kathryn finally spoke up and told us that my fiancé "knew what he was getting into," and that they don't sell rings with that metal because it's an inferior product. She said that my fiancé insisted they used that metal and so her hands were tied. I feel that as an owner you should NEVER sell an inferior product that you cannot stand behind. You have the option to tell a customer that you're not comfortable selling that product. Instead, she sold my fiancé a ring of inferior product, and as an "expert gemologist" and owner of this establishment she should have never sold him something that she couldn't stand behind. My fiancé was told when he bought the ring that yes, he had chosen a softer metal and it would lose some gems at first, but that it would settle and would not happen nearly as much. She also said that with the coating they dip it in, it would seal the gems in well enough that we wouldn't have many problems at all. That's not what I was told when I went in and was informed that it would ABSOLUTELY keep happening and it was going to cost more than the ring's worth to fix it. That sounds like a scam to me. On top of all of this, my fiancé thought he was getting me the best ring he could and this company turned it into a nightmare. I left her business in tears because I had been told multiple times that my ring was not good enough. Myself and my family will no longer do business with Diamonds by the Sea like we have in the past. I decided to not have my ring repaired and will go to a more reputable company. read more

My wife and I have used Diamonds By The Sea on two recent occasions to fulfill our jewelry needs. The first was for the purchase of a $20k+ diamond, 25th Anniversary ring for my wife, given as a surprise. It is absolutely stunning and I don't think I've ever seen a more beautiful ring. Pretty sure my wife agrees. The second occasion was for the repair of my wife's original wedding ring and for the restoration of a very special ring of mine which had been through some pretty rough handling over the years and had lost its center diamond. The Goldsmith reconstructed the head of the ring to accommodate a larger (and very spectacular) diamond, reshaped the warped band, refinished the surface to a brilliant shine and added a satin contrast to the sides. Both rings now look amazing! We couldn't have been any more pleased with the outcome. The Goldsmith did a superb job and is very skilled. My old ring looks as though it came straight out of a showcase display! My wife's wedding ring, after almost 34 years of marriage looks as good as the day I purposed. My wife and I live in the Sacramento, CA area and although there are probably dozens of closer jewelry businesses, Diamonds By The Sea is who we trust with the things that mean the most.
