So, my fiancé and I went to Diamonds Direct to look at engagement rings. Well we found one that I loved. So when the time came my fiancé went back to purchase the ring. It's absolutely beautiful. Two days after wearing it is where it all went down hill. Two days after he proposed and me wearing the ring a stone fell out of the setting. This was September 7, 2015. Well he took it back to have it fixed around October. We both work crazy hours and that was the soonest he could get it back to them. He specifically told them if they were not comfortable with fixing it to please send it back to Verragio. Well our sales representative that helped up while we were looking, and helped him with the purchase told me "we have the best jeweler in Charlotte." Oh boy, was that a lie. My fiancé dropped my ring off and when he got it back out sales representative looked at the ring and told him it looked beautiful. He looked at it didn't really pay much attention to it. Noticed the stone was replaced and went on about his day. Well when I got home and he gave it to me, of course I'm going to inspect it. Well I notice that there are gouges and dents in the halo of my ring. My guess being from whatever vise it was placed in to replace the tiny side stone. Well we immediately e-mail our sales rep with this discovery and concern. She told him that when ladies get their rings back they are far to critical of them. That she gave it a look over and it was perfect. Well no, I'm sorry that it wasn't in that condition when you got it. Second, if that's our idea of perfect you need a reality check. People don't spend that kind of money on a ring for them to get it back in that fashion. Mind you this ring is probably about a month old at this point. Well she tells him to have me bring it in because she doesn't understand what I'm trying to explain via e-mail. Well Friday November 20, 2015 I bring the ring back to Diamonds Direct. I waited until they had their showcase again and I knew a Verragio representative would be there. So we get there in the afternoon. I've got my maid and matron of honor with me. I walk in and explain to the girl at the door what I'm here for. She doesn't seen concerned with it and sends me to the service desk, There I meet two more people, who don't seem at all concerned with it either. I explain what is going on to the guy behind the counter, his only response is "we don't put the jewelry in vises." Okay, so you're telling me your jeweler holds the ring while he tried to replace the tiny side stone. I doubt it, I'm not stupid. Well then he leans over to the girl beside him and says "see those tiny little dents." She looks at me and says are you talking about this. I said yes, well when did this happen. It happen the last time it was in here for a repair. They looked up the repair log. I then told her we emailed the sales rep and she is aware that is happen. So the girl again goes to find the sales rep. She gets the ring and looks at it with her magnifying glass, "those don't look like tool marks" "that looks like it was dropped." Yeah, I don't think so. So your telling me I dropped my ring and made symmetrical dents on each side of it. You are out of your mind if you think I would believe that. First off I've never dropped my ring. My bet is when she got the ring back from the jeweler after the original repair she knew it was damaged. She just didn't want to draw attention to it, that it would fall back on her. Well she takes it to the Verragio rep and I explain to her what happen. Is was extremely apologetic. She apologized for their mistake and had it overnighted back to Verragio to have it repaired. Through this whole process not a single Diamonds Direct employee that I encountered apologized for their mistake.
Another thing, while my friends were in their store not one sales rep spoke to them. Never asked if they needed any assistance or if they would like to see anything. They had one brand rep speak to them.
To sum it all up, if you're looking for a great selection in jewelry they have it. I you're looking for customer service they are lacking greatly in this department. If you buy anything from them, send it back to the designer you purchased it from. It will save you the hassle, and you will know your jewelry will be well taken care of! read more
