I advise anyone looking to get their wedding dress dry cleaned to not use this business! When I brought my dress in, it was in very good condition. I just needed a few makeup stains taken out of the chest area and the bottom of the dress was pretty dirty from the dance floor. While dropping the dress off, I showed my stains to a woman who told me that the stains would come out no problem. When I picked up my dress, I was told that the makeup stains were taken out, but the stains on the bottom were impossible to get out and that I was better off just altering the bottom to get rid of the stains. I was asked to pay the full amount of the service but argued to get 30% off. I understand if the stain couldn't come out, but wasn't willing to pay the full amount for a service that wasn't completed. When I got home and looked at the dress, I was very disappointed to see that my dress had been damaged. In multiple areas, the fabric had been worn so thin. All of the makeup stains were still very visible (a stain I would think to be pretty common on wedding dresses?). The bustle hadn't even been taken down so there were large amounts of the dress that weren't touched. Beads on the back of my dress are unthreaded and falling out. Overall I'm very sad that something so special to me has been ruined. The lady at the desk was apprehensive to give me any sort of discount and was dishonest about cleaning my dress. She also never mentioned the obvious damage that had been done and was never apologetic. Please think twice before giving your wedding dress to this business! read more

She ruined my wedding dress!!!! Don't trust them with your valuable items. I went in with my wedding dress to have altered and left having to buy an emergency dress a week and a half before my wedding. It didn't fit my body at all it was puffy and you could see though the sides at every angle.... the front is different than the original picture as I agreed to have changed in design as she said she couldn't alter it to fit me the way it was but I never agreed to the back loosing its design. lt went from a sexy v back to me looking like a 4 year old.... The pictures will show how bad of a sewing job it was and how the dress looks 100% different. I can't even begin to tell you how bad the sewing was on this dress... how they advertise wedding sewing is very misleading. The pictures speak a thousand words and you can judge for yourself how they are professional seamstresses.... I went in for a refund of the dress and alterations and at first the owner fully admitted it looked bad and didn't fit and then when I went to take the dress off she went into the back of her shop and must have talked to to someone because she came out with a defensive, stubborn having NO empathy for a bride having to deal with all of this right before her wedding.... All she said she could do was "let it out" and I could have my original dress back. Yes that's right she doesn't cut and sew a dress to your body shape she folds it all in and sews it..... so that made sense why it bunched and was puffy and made the back look puffy by my butt..... no matter what it isn't the original dress and the length now is gone and she stitching making it "original" is off too and so it still isn't good enough for me to consign. Being she refused to pay for the dress she has been giving me the run around on when to pick it up not having it unaltered when she first promised making up a story that a "fat lady" wanted to buy it for $150 l which is way below what the dead was purchased for. (A: that is horribly insulting to say about anyone and B: she was just trying to get out of spending time taking it out and I had to come back again to pick it up for a second time which I shouldn't have to do) Please please don't take your valuable items to her can you imagine if this would have been my moms dress or a $5,000 dress she jacked up and then won't take responsibility for. Not 1 I'm sorry came from her the owner.... I want my money back for the dress and she refuses to... please do the right thing and refund me the price of this dress!!! read more

BUYER BEWARE: I am giving this review four stars due to the fact that they did do the right thing by fixing my dress (after ruining it) and did offer me a discount of 30% off the alterations. BUT I do not want ANY bride to have to go through the same situation I went through weeks before their wedding like I did. Here is this full story: I went in to Diana's Alterations on June 13th after scheduling an appointment over the phone. The seamstress took my measurements, pinned the dress exactly how I wanted it and told me they would be taking in the waist, hemming the bottom, and adding a bustle. I paid the full amount up front (big mistake) but I trusted the shop and it had mostly all good reviews. Before I left she took out her calendar and we scheduled an appointment for me to come back and pick it up on Friday, August 21st. Fast forward to that date, I leave work early to go pick it up, I walk in and tell them I have an appointment. First she is confused and says she has to find the dress (hello red flag!). She goes into the back and when she comes back up to the front she tells me it is not done yet. No problem, I offer to come back another day, but I told them I wish they would have called me ahead of time, and I also asked why it was not done. The reply I got was "the girl who is working on it talks too much." Although it had been over two months that they have now had my wedding dress, I offered to come back the next week. !!!! AND THIS IS WHERE THE DISASTER TAKES PLACE !!! Arriving a week after my scheduled appointment, a different lady this time hands me my dress and I go to try it on in the dressing room. As I go to step into the dress, I immediately recognize that something is WRONG. My wedding dress will not even fit over my hip bones, The zipper does not even start to zip up. I open the curtain and tell her that something is wrong. I asked her if they still had the original measurements they took as well as many other questions such as why is the fabric bunched up here, why are the sewn in cups uneven, and why is the dress at least 2 inches smaller all the way down than it was supposed to be?? Besides not fitting me at all, the dress looks absolutely terrible. It was two sizes too small now, and even if it was possible for me to lose 20 pounds the dress did not even go over my hip bones (UNZIPPED). Something had gone majorly wrong with the alterations and these were the only answers she would provide. "I know, she took off too much fabric by accident, I tried telling her she was taking too much off." "She was new she did not know what she was doing." "She doesn't work here anymore she was fired." At this point I begin to cry. I am full on panic mode as my wedding is in a few weeks and If I ordered a duplicate dress It wouldn't get here on time. The lady claims that she can fix the dress because they saved the fabric from it. But at this point I'm thinking it's just going to look like a botch job. She told me to come back the next day and with my sister in law for support, we headed back to see the results. To her credit, this second seamstress (NOT the one who took my initial measurements or "ruined" my dress) was very good. She was able to take the dress back out to the original measurements we took at the first appointment. I still feel like it looked a little but funky and did not lay as smooth as it originally had. BUT she did a very good job at fixing what the other seamstress had screwed up. She fixed the pads and the bunchy fabric and it actually ended up fitting very well. She told my sister in law that she was the new owner of the shop and she had bought it about a month ago. According to this lady the first girl I worked with had ruined multiple dress and even a men's suit, but she no longer works at the shop. We told her we totally understood and we didn't blame her for what happened, we were just glad she could fix it. I did have to go back twice more into the shop before getting my dress, a total of five times. One of times the dress was once again not ready after it was promised it would be. The last part of this story is that when I asked the SAME lady who told us the story about 'just buying the shop' if she would be able to give me a discount for my troubles, she said she was not the manager and she would have to call to see what she could do. She offered to give me $30 back which is less then 10% off of what I paid for the alterations. Now I wasn't asking for a full refund, but I thought that 30 bucks was a little insensitive after what had happened. After going back and forth with her for a while she gave me a 30% discount. Why would they let a new girl work on a wedding dress? I do not know the answer to that. Why would this other lady lie to us about just taking over the shop and being the new owner but then saying she wasn't able to give me a refund because she wasn't the manager? BEWARE. Ended up with a prom dress my daughter couldn't wear. The ball gown dress just needed the straps and bodice altered; the individual working with us when we dropped it off was wonderful. She did a great job recommending where the top needed to be altered, eveything was pinned as needed and looked great. We were so excited we couldn't wait to pick up the dress a couple weeks later. But when we picked up the dress it was AWFUL. The dress wouldn't zip up, it was off by almost 4 inches. They asked my teenage daughter if she gained weight, which was NOT helpful and no she didn't gain any weight. They shortened the straps, must have taken the sides in which we didn't need & used a white thick padded cups, which you can see through dress, the thick padded not needed as she already has a bigger chest, we were expecting nude ones that we discussed during initial fitting. The dress was unwearable and they initially shrugged then said, they didn't take in, I should trust them they know what they adjusted. NO, sorry, I know how the dress fitted her before they touched it. There was too big of a gap and the bodice was terrible. If I knew how to, I would attach pictures of the back before and after. She told me to wait and they would help us, do me a favor by taking the sides in as much as possible. And they said they'd take $30 off total cost. I took dress, & left; we had to ran out to find a new dress. The next day I called to speak to the manager, and ended up talking to the person from the night before (not sure who it was). I agreed to bring the dress back in that day to see if they could fix it, I agreed since it was unwearable as is. When I came back later with my daughter, we were barely able to but we finally were able to zip up the dress, but the bodice of the dress was still wrong and the straps not right but were stuck with them. Again we were asked to wait a few minutes so they could make us happy by adjusting the bodice. They made some adjustments but frankly it is not right. I thanked them, took the dress and we will not be going back. I now have to find someone else to hopefully fix the bodice correctly or the dress will never be worn at least not by my daughters. What a waste of money and the emotional angst and stress, just heart breaking. read more

I don't write a lot of yelp reviews but feel like this place deserve some recognitions. I live in Woodbury but just bought a dress nearby and someone recommended Diana's shop. I need some major hem work on my dress and need to get it done in 2 days. May was helping me out and she was extremely nice, she offered to hem my dress and asked me if I could come back in 2hours so I wouldn't have to make the drive tomorrow. The price was very reasonable and her work was excellent!!! Very happy!! Highly recommended. read more

The location is super convenient being in the arbor lakes shopping center. I called to see if I needed an appointment but she said just to come in anytime they were open. I brought a bridesmaid dress that just needed the straps to be tightened a little and the hem to be brought up. When I dropped it off she set a specific date and time it would be done. I showed up that time to pick it up and only the straps were done not the hem. The lady working there today stated she was just helping her (the owner I assume) and she didn't know why it wasn't done. So I had to come back an hour later....so inconvenient!! If it wasn't done why wasn't I contacted? Not only was I annoyed with this whole interaction, the cost to tighten the straps and take the hem up was $92!!! Way overpriced and because of their mistake they didn't even offer me a discount. Needless to say I will never use them again what a joke. read more

The zipper broke on my daughters liner on her winter jacket. I had it repaired elsewhere and the zipper did not zip to the outer shell nor did the zipper slide well. I stumbled across Diana's Alterations when dining out with friends so I thought I would give them a try. ****Best thing I ever did**** Not only did they repair the jacket but it was done so in a very timely fashion. It normally would have only taken an hour to repair but they had to order the zipper in to the store. I picked the jacket up within 3 days. The other place took a week.
