Maria was absolutely a life saver. We were in a bind to get my daughter's prom dress altered before her prom. We only had 3 days to work with. I called every where locally and all were booked. Maria was recommended to me by a family member and she asked us to come that day. Although she was busy she felt bad about our situation (our original seamstress had a family emergency). I thought it would be difficult with all the beading. The back of the dress had the exact same beading as the front, and there was a train with beads around the bottom. We needed it gone. She only charged $60 for a rush job (we had been quoted higher out of town) and she even had the dress done in 2 days. She did such an amazing job, great quality work you couldn't even tell it was altered. Maria was so sweet and kind. She did exactly what we asked and she came through before the pick up date. I would highly recommend her services and I will be going back to her for future services. We were so appreciative we tipped her. Everyone has different experiences, take light of the negative views. She did fantastic work taking out the arms in a very expensive blazer that my son had outgrown. The cuffs were lined, had buttons, and pleats and when I got the blazer back, the work was very professional and quick turnaround. Definitely recommend. read more

I called today and asked if she could do a last minute hem on a pair of pants that I need the same day. She said yes, so me and my boyfriend went over and she measured a pair of jeans on him and pinned them. I asked her a question about another pair of jeans we brought and she said she needed to see them on him. He put them on and before even saying anything she was pinning his pant legs to be hemmed. I told her I didn't want two pants worked on because I didn't have the money. She said "I'll do both for $20". I asked her repeatedly if she was sure and repeated, "You'll do both pants today for $20?" She repeatedly answered yes. She said she would call when she was done and I can come pick them up. She called later in the day and said they were ready so I went over and said, "They look great!" And handed her a $20. She then immediately started saying, "NO NO NO NO $30!" she kept saying, "It's same day! I usually charge $10 a pair! I never said that!" Raising her voice. I had $9 left in my wallet for gas. I ended up having to give her $5 so she would even let me leave her sewing room! Then she had the nerve to complain because a small piece of the corner on the $5 was ripped off. I WILL NEVER GO BACK THERE OR RECOMMEND HER TO ANYONE! I was so appreciative of her fast and good work. I had about 5 other things in my car I was going to ask her to do for me at full price because I knew she gave me a huge discount when she said $20 for the same day. By the time she would have been done with my other items I would have been paid and been able to not only commition work from her but tip for the "favor" today. Completely unprofessional, pushy, and downright trashy behavior from what seemed to be such a nice woman. read more

I was referred to Mrs. Diaz by one of the Main St shop front owners. Previously, I'd been to Kathy's Alterations, but her hours make it difficult for me to work around. It took me 4 months to finally pick up my pants. Anyway, Mrs. Diaz's house is right by the freeway and near Main St. She has a small "shop" at the side of her house full of clothes to be altered. She's a busy woman! This is exactly what I wanted, since this is how I used get my clothes done in the Bay Area. I turned in a Speechless dress with real nice fabric to have the length increased and the shoulder straps adjusted. I have complete confidence in the final product. read more

I had 3 sweatshirts that I need to have a zipper put on the right sleeve for use during my dialysis. She said she will call me when it is done.Not receiving any call after 3 weeks, I called on the status , she said that She does not remember me and that she does not have any sweatshirt .I went to her shop and we started looking for the sweatshirts to no avail. On my way home, she called me that she finally found it and that she will call me when she is done. A week later, she called, again and thinking that she is done, went to her shop again only to find out that she only wants to confirm what to do and that she will call me when she is finished. 5 days later, I finally got the call to pick it up. She charged $20 each .After picking the sweatshirts, I had it laundered ready for use. When I finally use the 3rd sweatshirt, I found out that only 2 of the sweatshirts were with the zipper and the 3rd. one was never done. I called her about it and she became angry and insisted the she did it all and insinuating that I am trying to con her. I realized that there's no point arguing with her and to just eat my lose. I WILL NEVER GO TO THIS LADY AGAIN FOR ALTERATION AND I DON'T RECOMMEND IT TO ANYBODY read more

I stumbled upon this business and brought about 6 shirts and a pair of yoga pants to her. I asked her to do very simple alterations (e.g. hem) and repeatedly asked her for the price on these services. She kept reassuring me that she would not charge much and not to worry about her prices. I was understandably uncomfortable not knowing her prices, but there was no amount of times I could ask that would get her to tell me and I knew I would feel bad walking out on her, so I left my stuff with her. I didn't get my stuff back for 3 months and she surprised me with an $80 bill and proceeded to get extremely angry with me when my boyfriend and I calmly tried to discuss the price with her. All of this being said, she seems like a nice lady who is just very busy with her work, but because of the described experience I unfortunately will not be returning.. read more

I came to Ms.Diaz very last minute, I needed a formal gown shortened for the following day. Surprisingly she agreed to it and not only did she have it completed the following day but she had it ready for me 3 hours earlier then when I needed it! The dress had some complicated sequences and was double layered, so it wasn't as simple to shorten, yet she did a wonderful job with extra attention to detail, especially considering how soon I needed this done. On top of all that she is very nice and listens to what you need. I would definitely recommend her! Her pricing was very cheap for the amount or work she put into it. read more

Have been using this place for years then I brought my suit into her got it back the same as it came in she said she didn't have the material and couldn't do the alterations and still proceeded to charge me 24 bucks really for staring at my suit and doing nothing you get paid needless to say I won't ever use her again read more

I went to this place to get a "professional" to alter my jeans. So I visited, I told her my jeans were too big and wanted to make them my size and she agreed-said that they would be like new in a week and she even adjusted them in the mirror like I wanted them to. A whole week passed and I went to see what was the hold up and she was like nothing speaking to her friend, just with the excuse that a wedding came up so she's been busy-then she promises they will be done by tomorrow. I go to her place and she's like nothing giving me back my jeans and I try them on and they looked exactly like when I have them to her and I TOLD HER and she got mad saying she was only suppose to alter the legs anyway but she had shown me how it was in the mirror beforehand which also includes the waist!! and she still charged me $14 and wouldn't shut up being hella angry. Now i'm stuck with some very uneven looking jeans, I will definitely never be going back to her again and seeking actual professionals to assist me. This lady might be nice and everything but she just wants to make the most money she can with the least work possible. TRUST ME, She will take forever returning anything and get mad when you notice its not done right. read more
