The Bronx office was hot, poorly ventilated, and unsafe for my father who can not tolerate heat and nearly passed out. Even worse, the Bronx location had no record of his previous treatment and told us he had to start all over. This shows a complete lack of professionalism, care, and coordination. The experience was traumatic for my father and extremely frustrating for me. I would not recommend this practice to anyone, especially not for elderly or vulnerable patients.

Several times I had to tell her the suction wasn't set right as I was consistently gagging from the excessive saliva in my mouth, as well as getting splashed in my face. Her response, the water pressure was too high. When polishing my teeth, she caught my hair in the machine and I had to pull it to make her stop. Each time I expressed my concerns she responded rudely, even told me I have a problem. The dentist was polite and expressed his apologies. My mouth still hurts a day later. I know discomfort from cleaning is normal, however I should not feel pain.

I have a phobia so I begin explaining how much I fear dentists, that my roots are deep, that he will need to give me a pill prior to the needles because my pain threshold is non-existent. And, would he be open to using gas? He replies calmly "no, local anesthesia will work fine." I was given medication in various places around the tooth he stepped out and returned to enable the medication to take effect. He came back and when I thought he was determining the best angle to approach the extraction, he immediately removed the tooth! He was in my mouth with an instrument, and I was waiting for the pain to begin, the pulling, the crunching. I mean it was a wisdom tooth after all! He expertly removed my tooth in seconds. I didn't have time to get scared. I was lulled into a sense of security that completely took away my fear! Or, I was in the hands of a skilled surgeon. She explained the procedure and the entire process was painless. If I'm not giving the establishment five stars is because of the billing staff. I pay for three separate dental insurances and I know what I have. They based the entire visit on my primary insurance and made me pay over $500 up front. I did billing for 42 years at New York Presbyterian hospital so I know I'll never see that money refunded to me. Because it took me two days to get them on the phone for an appointment, so reaching them for refund when they get the check will be next to impossible. I would still recommend the surgeon because she's very nice, professional and does an amazing job. Just make sure you can afford going there.
