I found this place in the way to another eatery to meet up with friends for dinner. When I discovered it was closed, my peaked curiosity lead me to Dick Miller's. It definitely has the American diner feel to it and the menu had some intriguing offerings like fries w/gravy, grits and biscuits and gravy for brunch. They have an extensive burger menu and it's quite reasonably priced. I opted for the 'Victory' burger in light of the All Blacks winning the Rugby World Cup. The price of it even was $17.34 which cleverly was the score of the game. It was a kangaroo burger (meat was cooked just ok) with egg, beetroot and some other components that really didn't stand out. It came with Cajun fries that were ok but nothing bedazzling. The alcohol selection was respectable but overall there was just a lack of energy in it especially as it was only the 3 of us on a Friday night. The 3 stars are solid and I'm tempted to go back for the Southern biscuits and gravy to give another star but I'm not holding my breath for redemption. My suggestion: probably an ok place for a quick lunch if you work nearby. read more
