Meat pies and great selection of local beers! Many beers on draft and you can also get the pie+beer deal (great deal!). They also have many bottled beers to choose from, wines and hard liquor. The food looks amazing, but I have only had their pies. No table service here. Order and pay at the bar and they will bring your food to you when it's ready.

Great beer collection and ambience. Friendly people. Historic location. I enjoy a sweet "pie" tasting beer cider. It was very refreshing.

My husband and I stopped in here to checkout their craft beer scene after the Harbor Bridge Climb. Pretty cool, low-key place. The staff was friendly and the tap list was very large! We shared a tasting and while there, one of the staff members told us a pop-up art show was going to start soon. We found out we were in the art district of Auckland- so if you like art- this is the place to be! We didn't stick around long as we had other items on our itinerary. Must say, their burgers looked awesome!

Vultures Lane (previously know as O'Carrolls Irish Bar) It has been really cool to see the transformation of this bar over the last few years. From one of the most popular Irish bars in New Zealand into possibly the leading craft beer bar in Auckland. (Why is it called Vultures Lane? I have now found out this was an old name from early in the 20th Century when Vulcan Lane was in a bit of the seedy part of town with working ladies, drunks, sailors, pirates and undesirables, hence Vultures) The taps are unique with them being set into a steel I beam. The beer lines and cooling lines are exposed. The tap badges for each beer are located on top of the of this I beam. If you are short than 5′ 5″ you won't be able to actually see these tap badges so won't know what is on tap to be able to order Recently this problem was remedied by them adding a blackboard behind the bar where they list all the beers on tap. If you are lucky enough you might even get to see the blackboard being updated. Yes there is free wifi from CallPlus. Unfortunately I wasn't able to connect to it. Then again I had been told by Dave the owner that he was having problems connecting to the internet to pay the wages. So maybe the internet wasn't working for the wifi either. Give it a go and let me know. http://www.luke.co.nz/2014/02/tasting-tuesday-140218-vultures-lane-html/

Watching NZ play Australia in World Cup cricket. Couldn't get tickets to the game so had lunch at Mamak and now am at Vulture's Lane. Seems to be the place to be. Massive selection of beers and nachos are $5.00 today. Had a pint of Garage Project and now thinking about a pint of 8WiredSemiconductor!

Friendly service and 20-ish beers on tap in this small and quiet pub. The pub fare looked good but we just had beer.

It's a great very small craft beer pub. Worth the trip. They change the slectuon often to always good brewes on tap.

I found a comfy spot in the back, connected to their wifi and checked in for tomorrow's flight back to the USA. And then dinner. I ordered the fish and chips which was the biggest piece of fish ever. Crispy battered outside, light and flaky inside. Super hot from the fryer and with enough delicious fries to float a battalion. Wifi was speedy and the seating was comfortable and I'm just a little bit sad that my New Zealand adventure is coming to a close. [Review 531 of 2024 - 176 in New Zealand - 21563 overall]

While walking back to where my wife was shopping, I got lucky and walked by this place! This place got extra credit because it was much needed after my wasted walk. Quality/Quantity - Good selection of beers on tap. They offer samples if asked. Liberty Knife Party IPA - # 1 seller and an "always" on tap beer. 7.1% so beware. This was good, very smooth. Almost did not even taste like an IPA, not too hoppy. Eddyline West Coast IPA - 7.3%, wow this was even smoother. Borderline dangerous drinking this as it went down too easily. I cut myself off after this second beer (third one for the day). Beer flights are also available. Atmosphere - They cater to the locals here, perfect for me. :) Cool decor, sorry I should have taken more pictures. 7+ weeks out here and I still do NOT have an Australian or New Zealand accent, LOL. Indoor/outdoor seating. No people watching as it is a weekend, a Saturday today. They mainly cater to the local downtown businesses. Free wifi, but you need a password; just ask. Open 7 days a week from 11:30am to 10pm. Service - Good. Price - $28.50 NZ, approximately $8.55 US per beer. Expensive for a non tourist area... Owner Comment - Congrats on your success.

We were really enjoying the food, atmosphere, and service from our waitress. The reason for the lower rating was an interaction we witnessed involving a tall, bald staff member. An older Asian group was seated near our table. A few moments after they sat down, several additional members of their group sat at a nearby table without first checking with the hostess. The staff member approached them and explained that the table was reserved and that other guests might be arriving. While the request itself seemed reasonable, the way it was handled was not. He spoke very loudly and aggressively, to the point that the entire restaurant turned to see what was happening. The group appeared embarrassed, stood up, and left the restaurant. As Asian visitors ourselves, the incident left us feeling uncomfortable. We understand that restaurants need to manage reservations and seating arrangements, but customers should be treated with courtesy and respect, especially when a simple explanation would likely have resolved the situation. It's unfortunate because the food and the rest of the service were excellent. This would have been a 5-star experience otherwise. I hope management addresses situations like this more professionally in the future.

There's not a lot of options to be honest. Anyway it's a nice enough spot on top of the new Westfield. Plenty of tables etc but unfortunately on a Friday lunchtime the kitchen obviously struggled to keep up with the demand. An hour wait for our food when on a lunch break was not good. Drinks were slow to arrive and unfortunately when they did and they were raised to toast "cheers" one glass literally had the bottom fall out. Staff were quick to react and mop up the beer but no apology, no offer to compensate. Two of our group were well covered by beer and trousers soaked. The manager should have done a great better job. Unfortunately our experience was rather tainted so not sure we would be rushing back. Still they probably don't care. I wouldn't order the dumplings again, but I always forget that chicken dumplings just aren't the same as pork and/or shrimp. The Arancini was a bit disappointing in flavor, maybe just a touch more salt would have been helpful and same thing with the flavor of the Risotto. The seafood was cooked perfectly, but the sauce on it just wasn't as flavorful as I would have liked, for a risotto. Service was always great with the staff always helpful with recommendations. We were very happy to have access to this restaurant during our stay the Four Points
