I have heard that Allstate is expensive but I have had other companies give me a quote and they were all close to what I currently pay. When I had to use Allstate to replace my roof after hail damage, Allstate was so easy to work with. ( I have both my auto and home with them) I had an agent that I didnt like but was to lazy to change. Allstate dropped her and transfered my policy to David Cash. I have never met or spoke with David directly but his staff is great. I get updates when payments are due & made and when my credit card on file is about to expire. Since my policy had been transfered, they never reviewed it with me until it recently renewed. As they reviewed my policy they noticed changes and recommended them to me. They werent pushy trying to sell me but made sure I was appropriately covered. It's been great having my policy with them.

In my experience, caring about the customer is more of a slogan than a real action with most insurance offices. I've been in some offices where the people made you feel like an intruder into their quiet day while others were friendly enough but kept getting up to handle other people's needs, putting you on hold every few minutes even in person...and once during an appointment time! (The interruptions were so bad that I finally had to say something.) Still others would be standing outside...open the door for you...tell you "I'll be right in"...and then close the door and light up a cigarette, probably thinking I couldn't see them. Sigh. But they're not just very nice people, they're very knowledgeable, too! And if they don't have the answer to one of my questions, they WILL find it and let me know within a day or two! I opened one of the letters and decided to give them a shot. It's true I wasn't savvy about insurance, so I thought I'd meet with them to see what they had to offer. Randy Robbins appeared at my door on a Saturday. He couldn't have been more friendly and he was great at explaining the different options available to me. I do think that educating oneself about all things insurance is not exactly fun, but it's very necessary and totally worth doing. I enjoyed my time with Randy and I felt like I learned a lot. He did not pressure me, he came equipped with many variables and different options and I didn't feel like I had to agree to anything. If you're in the market for mortgage insurance, then give Randy Robbins a call :-)
