Brisket extremely dry. Old had been sitting out What a total disappointment. Beans the same way. Total waste of $21.00

I have loved eating at various Dickey's, but this is an exception. Tonight I ordered brisket plate, with a drink and tip it was about $18. Typical premium for good bbq. But it wasn't good, it was very tough, like it hadn't smoked for long at all. After my meal I went to the team leader who was cutting beef (she was in charge ). In a deliberate friendly way I said, "hey, can I give you a little feedback on the beef?" She looked at me and didn't even respond. I thought maybe she didn't hear me and I said, "excuse me but did you hear my question?" She nodded. So I let her know, and her entire acknowledgement was a head nod. No apology, nothing. I then wasn't mean but was direct, "listen, your food is expensive and you seem like you'd care about it". I've never met her before, she never knew me, no history. Definitely attitude, she needs coaching. Fortunately most of the Dickey's are not like this one. read more

The meat was ok, we threw the sides in the trash. Employees was unfriendly, looked at us as if they didn't want our business.. Done, they better enjoy that $40 bucks! read more

The food was pretty good and quick. The service the great and was fast. They had a lot of paintings and interesting stuff on the walls.

My husband and I make this restaurant a weekly thing. They have a good variety of pit smoked meats and sides. Their baked potatoes are huge, Texas-sized spuds! read more

TL;DR: My PREGNANT wife and 2 year old kid got food poisoning. Went into the restaurant last night, Jan. 29th around 4:30pm, to order food and take it to go. Only 2 (very young) people were working at the time. I got a brisket sandwich (nothing special). My wife got a large potato with pulled pork and my kid got a chicken plate. BOTH OF THEM woke up at 4am violently throwing up and has not let up in over 5 hours. Looking at past reviews, it's a surprise this place has not been shut down yet. PLEASE, AVOID THIS ESTABLISHMENT LIKE THE PLAGUE. read more

The food is pretty good. not the best BBQ I have ever had, but good, but really not worth what they charge you. their prices are very high for the little bit of food that you get. I don't really like how they give you your food all in a to go bag even if you are dining in, and your sides are in separate containers. I didn't see any napkins, just the moist towelettes. how hard is it to provide some regular napkins? read more

The girl running the cash register I doubt has been trained, took her so long then the amount was too high. I had to correct her. The roll obviously had not been allowed to rise properly and was under cooked. The brisket I would estimate was 20% fat and the smoked brisket was just mediocre. Ordered Doordash then 30 minutes later they called to tell me they were out of what I ordered. Grrrrrr. I canceled my order but they didn't do it on Doordash so I had to spend 30 minutes trying to explain everything to Doordash. Omg what a pain. Don't advertise and offer items that you don't have. Just picked up diner at the Athens Dickeys. We ordered pulled pork sandwiches, got old greasy fatty sliced beef. Got green beans for a side that had been cooked days ago, already black. Bunch of college kids playing 'grab ass', couldn't care less. We were the only ones there, now I know why. DON'T EAT AT THIS DICKIES ! ! read more

I don't care if the food is good or not honestly. When you are making fun of a customer as they are ordering, I can't get past it. Immature co-workers, and my family will never give hard earned money to this place again. This happened April 6th, 2019 at around 8:00pm. When asked to speak to the manager, she came over and was asked for Corporate offices number. She gave the wrong number and shut the window, she did not even ask what happened. Went in for takeout order. Full rack of ribs were delicious; pound of brisket was cut very poorly - some of it was cut super thick and some thin - all of it was very dry. Potato salad had an overly sweet taste to it which we didn't like. Will definitely come back for more ribs and spicy sauce but that's about all. read more

I made the mistake of going to Dickey's for a frito pie because Danny's was out of my way. When I got home and opened it I couldn't believe how dry it was. It did not even have any bean juice on it. I called to ask why no sauce and the girl, in a rude tone, told me they never put sauce on it. I told her that was crazy to not put sauce on a frito pie. Since you don't have chili you put bbq sauce! She said if I wanted sauce I should have asked for it. That's like asking if I want my burger on a bun! I tried to salvage the meat but it was no good at all. When I told the hateful girl that would be my last trip to Dickey's, and it will, she said that's good is that all you wanted! Why should the employees care when the owners don't. I will say one thing good about Dickey's, they have good okra and you never have to wait in line, but when I go to Danny's I always have to wait in line..,hmmm go figure. read more

Truly, truly, the worst they could be. I tried them out when they first opened, terrible then. I decided I would give them another chance. I just thought the first time was terrible. Compared to my second visit? It was pretty good. Ordered the rib plate and tea to go. Didn't get my tea or my fork...tea probably my fault, I was in a hurry. Fork should have been with meal. Loaded baked potato side was instant mashed potatoes with odd color, absolutely no flavor other than instant potatoes. Had a few flecks of something, but flecks were flavorless also. Slaw was no flavor, not sweet, not sour, not even cabbage flavored. Best I could call it was "white" flavor. Ribs were cooked, but very, very dry, had obviously sat around for hours and hours. Roll, stuck to lid of carryout container by congealed yellow grease, had not been allowed to rise long enough and had the texture of a hockey puck. I don't know how they even keep their franchise.
