I have been waiting three weeks to have them call my mail in pharmacy for preauthorization of my diabetes medication. That pharmacy has been calling them for over a month. Nothing. I have called their office and left text and left voice messages about this too. Still no pre authorization! It is NOT good to be out of diabetes medication for so long. I have also been waiting for a week to have a different prescription sent to my local pharmacy. Again. Not done, despite my reminder calls to their office. This is not the first time this has happened either. I think I'll be better off at an urgent care.

I found this extremely rude and disrespectful, especially in a medical environment where patients should feel safe and well-taken care of. I have no idea why this person thought he had the right to make a comment like that to a patient, but I will not be coming back here.

My experience with Surgical Associates of Myrtle Beach…read more I was diagnosed by Dr. Nicholson with a large umbilical hernia that required open hernia surgery. I went in for Same Day Surgery 7/06/16 and after a 6 inch incision was sent home in a binder with oxycodone for pain management. I tried to sleep but my skin felt like it was on fire and I was breaking out into hived like blisters and my pain was horrible so at 3 hours in we called Dr. Nicholson and explained we thought I was allergic to the oxycodone and could we get something else. He then suggested Tylenol with Codeine and I knew in the past that Tylenol with codeine has made me sick to my stomach so I asked for something different and he said no and that because the pain was terrible to take 2 oxycodone and some Benadryl. So that is what we did and I did not sleep for 3 days and because I was taking a double dose we ran out and called Saturday night but was informed that the office was not open until Monday and that they could not help me. I also reached out to my doctor but she would not see me because I had not been released back to her yet. So with very little sleep for a week, we went for follow up the next Wednesday where I was diagnosed with an infection and put on antibiotics. I was doing a bit better, not great but better when I went to see Dr. Nicholson 2 weeks later but the hives kept coming and coming. A week later I woke up with my eye swollen shut covered in hives everywhere and crusting over my incision and that itchy throat that means I am heading for trouble. I went to the Urgent care because of course my surgeon's office was closed and they shot me me up with prednisone and gave me allergy pills, prednisone pills and cream. They were so kind to me that I cried since I had not been treated with kindness through any of this. The hives started to go away and I woke up this morning to my incision coming open in 2 dime like spots so I called the surgeon and they had me come in. I walked in crying because well I was scared and hurting and just so tired. Dr. Nicholson was not there so I was seen by Lane I. Moore, MD, who threw the door open to the exam room looked at my incision and said this is your fault because you smoke and I was trying to explain to him my allergic reaction to oxycodone and the hell that had ensued since that and he said you did not have an allergic reaction, he said put a gauze pad on it and tape, quit smoking and wounds have been healing for thousands of years on their own. There has been one saving grace through this practice and that is the nurse, not sure of her name she has red hair, slightly older, she has been so kind and loving and the only reason I have gone back.

My name is James King, I was injured in a ATV ACCIDENT. On July 8 2026 , I was transported by…read morehelicopter with rib and femur fractures to Grand Strand Hospital trama center. After arriving I was evaluated By the on call orthopedic surgeon and was told I would receive pain medication so they could put my leg in traction to relieve the pressure and spasms caused by the severe misalignment , this did not happen. I was left in the trama ward with no one answering my repeated calls for help due to another trauma patient who needed help. Apparently they are severely understaffed , I repeatedly called out for help because they DO NOT HAVE CALL BUTTONS IN THEIR TRAMA WARD !! After a long wait I was having terrible pain, and no one answered my calls So I removed my heart monitor as well as my oxygen sensor and blood pressure cup hoping someone would come to my room. After over 2 hours of them being removed no one one ever came to investigate why all my vitals stopped . The following morning a nurse named Hunter finally came to the room I was in and finally got me some pain relief from the morning shift on call surgeon. he was the only reason I was finally moved to a room and pain medications was administered . I asked if the heart and blood pressure monitor was being monitored and he replied they were supposed to be. I was immediately taken to surgery to repair my broken femur that following morning after shift change. around 8:00 am. I was told numerous times the on call doctor during that night would call in the pain medication so they could put my leg in traction to relieve some of the continuous spasms , but he never did . the first time was around 12:30 on the 9 th of July second time around 5:30 Am on the 9th of July, the on call trama surgeon never called in the medication request so they waited till the actual surgeon who did the surgery on me came in that following morning to request the needed medication to relieve the spasms. After the surgery the on call surgeon came in and explained my surgery had went well. Soon after the surgery I explained my home medications to the nurse on the floor I was moved to. Because I am on anti rejection medication for a stem cell transplant to my eyes I am required to take 360 milligrams of cellcept every 12 hours to prevent the breakdown of my eye surface . Too much of this medication can cause liver and kidney damage. After surgery I was administered my home medication as well as other medications required for my injuries. As I was talking the medication and I asked the nurse what the medication I was going to be taking is exactly, To which she responded 2 two hundred and fifty milligrams of cellcept tablets as well as the other required medication. To which I told her again I am on 360 milligrams of cellcept every 12 hours , she replied we do not have 360 milligram tablets , we only have 250 milligram tablets. so she gave me two 250 milligram tablets of cellcept a total of 500 milligrams , which greatly exceeds my normal dosage. This could have damaged my organs if not caught by me before swallowing them. I assumed this mistake would be corrected in their system. But It was not and the following day after being moved upstairs for physical rehabilitation the attending nurse administered 500 milligrams of cellcept for my morning dose and I did not catch it as I am extremely low vision. This failure to communicate between floors is very dangerous when it comes to medication. This is a very serious mistake that could cause permanent damage to my liver and kidneys. They also required me to bring in my compound eye drops that are made from my own blood and is prepared at Duke Eye center to prevent the surface of my eyes from breaking down. These drops cost approximately $1000.0for a six week supply and they come in individual vials and require being kept frozen until use . I told the nursing staff to keep the large container frozen and only bring out individual tubes to be used and those individual tube could be refrigerated after opening. The whole container was left in a refrigerator and not frozen causing the whole batch to be discarded. Without any replacement. The same happened to my compounded Vancomycin eye drops . They were left out and the extra bottle was mixed up with the good one leaving me without any. They also attempted to administer my other eye drops as I have many that I require Numerous times a day and they are eye specific . They did not do it as instructed on the bottles and I had to tell them just bring them to me and I'll administer them myself . I spoke with one of my treating physicians and told him about the ongoing issues and he informed me that they have three attorneys on permanent retainer for numerous lawsuits . I had some good experiences with some staff on the rehabilitation floor , The rehab team were all great

Extremely disappointed! my son has been going to Grand Strand Peds since he was born. my baby got…read moresick over the weekend and had to go to a sick visit at the Carolin forest office... they gave us a follow up for shots... however when I made the statement if the shots weren't mandatory I didn't want my son to have them I was discharged from the practic... when I called to 82nd to see if we could be seen there I was told if one Dr chooses to discharge you they all stand by it no matter the reason they won't go against the Dr. I can now understand why my son had 3 different doctors in 2 years although we were going to the same facilit... high turnover rate for a reason!
