I went back in 2019 after collasping while running. I thought I was having a heart attack or stroke I was having chest pains. Thank God I wasn't having a heart attack they made me wait 20 mins for an EKG cardiogram and thank God it was normal. Turned out I had low potassium and low sodium. They gave me potassium ivs and they don't even know how to put in an IV I have tiny veins but I left all bruised smh. Also one of the Drs gave me a sodium pill and it made my sodium to high and it was scary . Had to go back and get a shot and the chinese Dr was very nice forgot her name said he was wrong to give me the sodium pill after that I would never go and would rather drive 35 mins to novant hospital. Would not recommend this hospital at all. Never again.

As a patient, I am always seen very quickly, and I find that the hours of operation are incredibly conducive to a busy work schedule. The entire staff is friendly and helpful, and I truly appreciate their smiling faces. Furthermore, Dr. Schecker is very accommodating, kind, and efficient. I called the next day to follow and was told to leave my information with the automatic answering machine as they were still busy and would get back to me. I called a third time two days later after not hearing from them and was on hold for 30 minutes after being transferred three times. I explained I was an establish patient elsewhere and wanted to follow up on making a new patient appointment. I was upset from being a hold for a while and they told me to hold again. They came back and said they're not accepting new patients. Why not just tell me this in the first place on the first call? My current allergist recommend this place saying they were great and would be helpful. I just feel like my time was wasted. I did ask if there is a timeline on when they may be accepting new patients and they just repeated, "we're just not accepting new patients."

The front office admins were clearly capable and were able to secure my records from my previous and current physicians this morning - even though none of those doctors' office staff had responded to Dr. Ryan's request for my previous records for the past month! After that, I was escorted to an exam room and was triaged by the practice nurse, Brittany. She was on top of it! Quite thorough and pleasant. Don't forget your Rx bottles! She goes over everything! My bloodwork was taken by a friendly, safe & knowledgeable lab tech (phlebotomist?) and for the life of me, I cannot recall her name (sorry! maybe Shay) I felt so bad for her trying to find one of my awful veins! I informed her how horrible my veins are and she took her time and finally found a vein worth jabbing! Finally saw Dr. Ryan. I have multiple medical issues (for a 55 year old woman.) Without going into any detail, I will be honest and tell you that Dr. Ryan spent quite a bit of time going over each and every one of my many medical concerns with me, answering each question I had. He's "on the ball" and even answered a few questions I had regarding my husband. He did not rush with me at all, and by the time I left his office, he already felt like an "old friend." Which is why I'm writing this review. I was THAT impressed As I said, I'm 55 - so this ain't my first rodeo - and my first impression and humble opinion of Dr. Ryan - without a doubt - surpasses my opinion of just about every single doctor I have ever been a patient of. Went for my 'New Patient Check Up' as they call it, where they went over my file, and met me. Now that they've seen me, I am able to use the walk-in hours if I need to. They seem friendly and they seem like a good practice. I did have a long wait time. But it appeared that they were taking in others who were in more need to be seen faster than I was. So even though I needed to wait what felt like forever, made me feel good to know if I needed to be seen very quickly then they would take care of my needs. My appointment was for 10am. They asked me to show up 20 mins early to fill out the new patient packet. So I got there at 9:40am, finished filling the forms out at 10. Got called into a room at 10:45. My doctor came into my room at 11:07. And I was out and leaving by 11:25, by the time she looked over my file from my previous physician and asked me additional questions she needed for the rest of my file. All in all it was a long visit, yes. But at least I have an office to go to now if I'm sick, since NO ONE in the Myrtle Beach area was taking in new patients.
