Brought in a new ring for sizing and the work was fine. With limited wearings a split occurred (after the repair warranty expired). I did not expect the jeweler to blame the manufacturer. A full price repair followed. Some middle ground would have been a better move. Our local circle of contacts is large. This practice will be shared. It's a good business me and my dad bought a nintendo switch from them they even have a layaway plan so they will take payments until you pay the item off they will hold it for you and they will give you the item after you paid the full amount. It's good for someone like me who wants to put money towards something overtime to own it and if I can't buy it out right. The handgun I purchased was unsafe. It would not fully engage the thumb safety on the 1911. When it did seem to engage, halfway, it would fire. No way to make it safe. Broke it down to clean it only to find rust and the palm safety grip spring worn. They offered to have a gunsmith take care of the problem, only to get it back in the same condition. Any reputable armorer would have spotted these problems without being told. Tried the miscommunication act as to why it is still not right. Had enough, take my business elsewhere and every person I see, know, and meet to tell them about 501 dickhead pawns. Nobody there who gives a flying f... Hardly anybody on the floor or behind the counter. It's like a ghost town. OH, by the way, I have fixed all the problems myself. I went with my girlfriend to pick up a gun that she had put a deposit on at the 501 store by Carolina forest the store manager whom I didnt have a conversation before hand because I was looking at labtops for myself was extremely rude and judgemental about me because I have quite a few tattoos and was in my dirty work close from coming straight there so he had the nerve to tell her he would take her money but would not release her purchase because he said that I looked like someone who would use drugs I am extremely upset and offended by this man I'm sorry that he didnt like my appearance but how can he make accusations like that without even speaking to me I do not recommend this location unless you want to be treated like garbage I think his nam is Rick but my fiance would like the district manager to contact her Spiros327@gmail.com read more

I'm wr this review about the store on dickpond road but I imagine they are all the same. this place went down the drain since they hired a few new people a few months ago, like a manager named Chris. He over charged me the last 4 times I was in there. and when he tried to make up an excuse it never added up to the amount he tried charging me. He's not the only one who over charged me either. so I'm guessing it's taught to the employees to do that. and now they added on an extra fee for using debit cards. who caries cash these days. like I said find a reputable place. The owner and head manger are never at this store cause when I asked Chris to see a manager he said he was the only manager there and that he started 3 months ago at the time. Once you get someone to help, the staff here was super friendly and from what I've seen genuinely willing to help folks in a bind that come in there. I purchased a couple of items and while the price was higher than I normally would like, they had some hard to find things that were reasonable. For sure worth going in and checking them out. PS: I see other folks complaining that they weren't greeted when they walked in. I wasn't either but I saw (see) that as a plus. read more

I stopped into Dick's Pawn North on 2/4/2023 to check on a price for some old gold necklaces, a ring and a small amount of silver. I wish I could remember the salesman's man because he was a lying, cheating P.O.S.! He weighted out the gold pieces and just kept saying this is all scrap gold like it made a difference. Bottom line he offered $450 for the lot and wanted to write it up and I told him I wanted to check a few more places before making a decision not knowing if the $450 was a good price or not. Well went to one other location Friendly Pawn 2115 S. Hwy 17 Murrells Inlet, SC to get another quote. They again weighed it, checked the quality of the gold content and I was offered $950.....Ummmmm, that more than twice the amount the thief at Dick's Pawn offered! My advice, stay the hell away from this place or if nothing else get a quote, then go to Friendly Pawn and feel really good about yourself that you didn't take THE DICK"S offer! I can't even write this off as a mistake or a missed button on the calculator, that A-hole was "STEALING" from me and padding his own pocket! AGAIN, STAY THE HELL AWAY FROM THIS PLACE IF YOUR LOOKING FOR A FAIR SHAKE BECAUSE YOU WILL END UP GRABBING YOUR ANKLES AND GETTING IT BACKSIDE IF YOU STICK WITH THESE CLOWNS! If I could give them less than 1 star I really would. The hubby and I stopped by here in hopes of finding a handgun I've been looking for. We walked in weren't greeted by anyone, and as we were looking at the gun selection we had someone bypass us and not even ask if we needed help. I'm assuming he was the manager, since he was dressed up a little more than everyone else in there. We continued to stay and look at the guns for about 10 minutes and no one even looked our way or offered to assist us. Aside from being ignored we were amazed by the prices and I don't mean amazed in a good way. We own a hardware and sporting goods store and sell some handguns and they were trying to sell a used gun for 179.99 when we sell the same exact thing brand new for 159.99. The only reason we decided to check them out for the gun, is because handguns and ammunition have been ridiculously hard to get for the past 10 months even for us licensed dealers. I have to say all of their used gun prices were the same if not more than new retail pricing. Do not go here looking for a deal, or if you want to be treated well. I just can't believe how bad the customer service was in the store. It's not like they didn't see us there, the "manager" was talking to another couple at the gun counter when we came in and i even motioned for him when he was done and like I said we were completely ignored. As pawn shops go, they're probably the better in town. That said, watch the prices! If you know what you're looking at, you can get some real steals here. If you don't, you can get hosed. Used musical instruments are often priced as much or more than brand new. They also don't hesitate to sell broken items while suggesting a repair is easy/inexpensive. Complaint Description: dicks Pawn would not complete auction sale because item sold to cheap and they made a mistake listing without a reserve. Sent shipping estimate for 6K I wo n an Ebay auction for an electronic reader sign for $54!from dicks Pawn. When I went to make payment they said they cannot sell the item at that price because they paid 40K for it in 2004. They also said they would find a solution that would benefit both of us.I tried to make Payment by Paypal which they wouldn't accept. then I received an invoice for the $54 plus $5,945 for shipping.mI live 5 miles fro the store and said I would pick up. Well they stopped answering emails and calls and made no attempt to work this out but did send me an auction mutual cancellation request which I denied. I asked for a discount or free mechandise as this mistake would cost them $6000 and ultimately cost me $6000 on profit also. All they wanted was a solution that worked for them and not myself. They could care less that I legally won this auction and was entitled to pay for it and take possession. The fact that they asked for $5945 to ship am item 5 miles from their business is unfair business practices and illegal. Because I said I would seek legal advice and contact tje Better Business Bureau the Owner Dick Paxton said as far S he is concerned the case is closed. The problem is he dont know this case has never been opened yet. But it will be. I told him if he buys an item from a client and pays $50 but later gets it appraised and finds out its worth $6000 will he call the client and reverse the transaction. the answer was NO. Omhave a Cousin who is a n Attorney and he said my rights were violated.............This is about to go viral........ The biggest mistake he made was asking for $5945 shipping which I already have a notarized copy of. I have been a customer of this store for 11 years and feel insulted that we have no importance as a loyal customer. We keep these companies in business. Went in to see if they had/ sold cell phones. Was not greeted as I walked in. Looked around the whole store before finding someone and asking if they sold cell phones. Guy rudely replied we haven't been in the cell phone business for years. I wasn't looking for a plan, just a phone someone might have pawned. He said they would replace it, or if they didn't have an exchange, that a refund could be done. TV cuts off out of the blue, so I tried to return it. They refused, and then the security guard heckled me the entire way to my vehicle, even telling me to suck his cock... She took that to mean that she could return it for refund rather than the store "policy" of being able to trade it for some other piece of vastly overpriced junk.
