As a sporting goods store, they are well equipped for all sports including football, baseball, golf, hunting, etc. Large selection of shoes and clothes. Their prices are reasonable with many special LTO's and discounts. Their Scorecard is their rewards program to earn discounts after spending certain amounts. I went there for one thing--- a bicycle. Dick's had put out a flyer offering 2 types of Schwinn bikes at 50% off. The problem is their website and store didn't have the same offer. After contacting their customer service, I had a note offering a "price match" in which they honored the 50% price. A special call-out to Chris Campbell, one of their service technicians, who did an excellent job adjusting the gears and brakes during the safety check. He did a great job explaining the safe operation and maintenance of the bike. As a precaution, I took out their warranty for the free tune up and safety inspections. So I had amazing service today. It's 6/6/20...we just purchased a property on Hilton Head Island and if you live in HHI, you must have a cruiser bike. Well.., we are just recovering from the Covid pandemic, so no bikes are being shipped from China or it's the skinny shipments that are getting through. That means it's 'hit or miss' if you can find a bike. I've been to all the Dicks looking for any kind of cruiser, and I need 3. So just by chance (bc I'm really on way to the neighbor store, Target) I decide to pop into Dicks just to see if there is any kind of cruiser to purchase. Wow... there's a PINK (MY signature color) Largo by Schwinn, waiting to be rescued by ME. As I enquirer, I end up being serviced by Mr Ed and Aarmone. I got the jackpot with both of these fine men. They informed me of the bike, the hang up and the inventory. I needed 2 other bikes, and they were in stock and unclaimed. Well I claimed them. So I was pleased and totally indebted to Mr. Ed and Aarmone. Best team ever. I ended up purchasing 3 bikes. I previously signed up on the Dicks app and got rewards for my purchase. One little hiccup occurred while our bikes were being assembled. I called ahead of time and spoke to Josh. Long story short, Josh answered my question and answered my concern. By the time I returned to the store, he rectified my issue and saved me a lot of time. This store is fabulous and the entire team is extremely friendly and helpful. Great trading program. It's like old fashion customer service....which is kind of rare in today's world. If there was a negative rating for them they would receive a double negative review. I stopped by with the urge to either buy a replacement fishing rod or two to replace broken ones or a couple of Yeti products to use both in and off shore fishing. First issue was the complete removal of Fenwick fishing rods and the complete lack of any rods at or near 8' in medium, medium light or medium fast. In either spin or bait caster configuration. I usually throw a ultra lite finesse bait or lure from my kayak, so it's a specific rod I usually use. Historically, Dicks has been one of the few places in the area that stocked these particular set ups. When I asked the jerk in the fishing and hunting department (gun sales department) if they had removed their entire inventory of kayaks and kayak gear I failed to notice him staring (not speaking) staring at his phone walking past me. His response was "excuse me", not politely, not professionally, not even like someone who didn't want his ass kicked. Then as I wandered around (Within his department) looking for a reason to stay in the store and possibly give some business to them he not once even recognized me or that I was even there. This person's ongoing epic level of non service and rude demeanor has completely turned me off this failing business. With people like this ass on your staff you will never recover from the last 3 months of losses. This has been his demeanor over the last several years during which, I've bit my tongue and shelled out coin for your goods. I wish you nothing but the exact thing you deserve based on your failure to not be the douche bags of the sporting goods industry. Waiting for the soon to be announced bankruptcy sales. It won't happen to a more deserving company. read more
