A big "Hello, how are you?" from the guy at the front upon walking it. I liked this welcome and I know we can not always get it on every single visit depending on how busy the store gets. I appreciated the warm welcome. There was a bit of a wait in the shoe department. I finally got assistance from Alex. Alex was polite and expressed empathy for the wait. Alex was helpful and knowledgeable. Alex let me know I should have at least 1-inch room at the toe box for comfort in the sneakers I selected. I felt like I was shopping in the 90s again. I rarely get this level of service in stores these days. The service was appreciated. Alanna was nice and assisted me with correcting the phone number on my rewards account. This was the third time I could not be found because someone typed my phone number incorrectly at the initial setup. I appreciate the initiative to correct it. Hopefully, it's right this time. I'm satisfied with my purchase and I felt good spending my money here with customer service reps who appreciate having customers to assist. read more

This is review for Dick's sporting goods and their poor customer service in general. I purchased SOLE F63 treadmill in this store back in 2021 January. I also purchased a 4 year warranty service plan provided by third party company called Asurion along with treadmill. Treadmill stopped working after 2.5/3 years due to electrical wiring issue inside circuit board. Asurion company denied my claim to repair stating that its physical damage due to maintenance issue. I don't see how an internal electrical circuit wiring issue is considered maintenance and physical damage. Asurion stood by their decision to deny my claim and worst part is they plainly suggested me to cancel the warranty service plan, if I want. When I spoke to Dicks, asking them to see if they can do anything as customer courtesy, one associate first said that he is going to initiate 15% of treadmill as refund, just as courtesy and even agreed to send this as confirmation on a written email. But, I haven't received anything for almost a week. When I again called Dick's, another associate plainly denied the courtesy refund offer saying that there is no any record of their associate agreeing for that. Finally, I just got prorated price of117$ as refund from Asurion out of 355$ I paid for the plan. Even though I never took any advantage of the plan and they denied my first claim. Overall, I paid more than 1300$ for something that did NOT last for even 3 years and came first no use when required. I would never recommend Ducks for any fitness equipment and ABSOLUTELY NOT recommending ASURION warranty service plans. read more

on Friday night we stopped to find a new pair of soccer cleats for my Daughter. The associate at soccer that asked to help admitted he was not able to answer our question, but was very polite. We then went to footwear for her to try on regular sneakers. The initial associate was very polite. At 8:58 he went in to the stockroom to find 2 sizes to see what fit best. I was outside with our son at this time and my wife was on the other side of the footwear section. Another associate returned with the two pairs. Our Daughter is only 13. He said " you either need to take both these to the sales counter now or we can hold them for you to try on tomorrow" Unbelievably crappy behavior let alone customer service. My wife came over by that time and he said we closed at 9. it was 9:01 and repeated what he said before. She said let our daughter at least try one pair on, which she did hurriedly. They bought that pair but they are not a good fit and we will likely return. Making what will be our last visit ever to this store. The associate should be fired and replaced by someone with people/ customer service skills. The goods have gotten cheaper and the service as well. And yes a rotten apple should be pulled from the basket before it ever comes in contact with the customers. read more

You have to admit, Dick's carries just about everything in sports you can play with a ball, slide on, run on, or send out a line hook and sinker. If you have a true aim they have it here. Getting pumped up is no problem here. They have everything to make your sporting event, your own game more fun. Even if you injure yourself, they have the kits to wrap, ice your injuries. They have it all covered and even have a rewards card if you shop often. This store has great parking and they keep the check out lines going fast. This chain has got a complete line up and a staff that is knowledgeable in what sport you excel in. I have been here a number of times and was always greeted at the door. I did not have a problem finding an associate when I was looking for something. The service is excellent. From beginners to the weekend players, whatever racquet you are in. I went to Dick's to do some Christmas shopping. I had a great experience. Everyone was so friendly and trying their best to help me get everything I needed. Joel the cashier was helping Matt, a seasonal cashier and they were outstanding. Both went above and beyond to help me ( I had a HUGE order!). I really appreciated their help. They even helped me to my car and help me load it. Thank you Joel and Matt! Joel (if he's not already) should be promoted to a supervisor, and Matt should be hired permanently!! Skip ahead a few days, I just called Dick's to see if they had some paintball equipment. I spoke with Henry on the phone. Usually, people try to rush you off the phone without answering questions, but he really helped me by answering everything I needed! Then , he told me what day and time he works so I could come to the store and he would help me pick up the stuff I need bc he too enjoys playing paintball and knows what my son would need when he plays. I'm clueless about the sport so I really appreciated him!! Overall, I love this store! I even filled out and was approved for a dicks credit card bc I knew I'd be shopping here a lot more bc I felt so good about the people working there! I am not a very sporty person, but when I need something sports related this is usually where I go. The store is quite large, which could be a bit overwhelming to those (me for an example) who doesn't frequent a sporting goods store. They divide the different sports/equipment into pretty good sections thus it's pretty easy to navigate around the store. After a couple visits, I start to learn where the things I want to buy are located. Of course this was only after asking for assistance from my previous visits. Like some other reviews have pointed out, it could sometimes be hard to find associates on the floor to get help because the place is quite large. I am very meticulous when it comes to attention to detail when it comes to customer service and for that reason I called this store in advance to see if they had an item in stock. I also asked if the box was damaged and/or missing any parts. I get a thumbs up to come pick it up because the associate said it is all there and looks great. After driving an hour and a half to the store and back home to set up my new equipment, that is worth $500 dollars, what do you know, the two main plates that hold the system together are missing. Recently, I purchased a DBX Cascade Women's bike from this store. I was optimistic, having read reviews, and decided against the support plan. On my first bike ride (7 mi), the derailleur deformed and wrapped itself around the frame of the bike. When I brought it to the store, I was informed this should be covered under warranty. I was merely riding the bike and changing gears after all. Standard performance. When I called several days later to check on my bike, I was informed that the part and labor were not covered under warranty (the manufacturer denied the claim). The store manager and bike specialist proceeded to convince me a bike plan was in my best interest. I was told I could purchase the plan online (not in store). I have since discovered that this is not true. Support plans are not available online. This store has a store policy that support plans may only be purchased on the date of purchase of the product. This means, that customers must purchase support before they have any idea how the product will function in the real world. Although all the staff I encountered was very friendly and helpful, I have to give this store a 1 due to misinformation, lousy product, and terrible customer service policies. read more

Just had an extremely disturbing experience at this store. I was on my way in when a woman asked my opinion on what I would do, seeing a small dog left in the car on this 90 degree day. Being an animal lover, the statistics of heat stroke in animals immediately came to mind. Many people gathered around as the urgency to help the little dog who was panting heavily. My immediate reaction was to ask the store manager to make an announcement for the owner of the car to come out so the dog could be let out for some air. Upon politely asking the manager to make the announcement, his response was extremely rude and showed complete disregard for the animals life. I am extremely disappointed in the way Dicks management handled this situation. AVOID this location!!! I would not come here again until they finish construction (estimated 10/2013). There is ONE dressing room and they only allow 3 items at a time. I am currently waiting for my second time to go back into the one fitting to try on my next three items. I would leave but I spent so much time pulling the items. I was looking for a yoga mat and before I had to find it in the big chaos, I was greeted at the entrance and guided to the right spot. Some yoga mats didn't have a price tag on them, but of course they told me the price after asking. This place is full of sports stuff. I've gone in here to find a rugby ball (got it) and boxing hand wraps (they had these too). Not a ton of staff running around to help me, but the aisles are kept clean, the racks are full of options and when I did need to engage an employee they seemed to know what was going on. read more

Visited the Crossroads Plaza location in Cary, NC on Saturday afternoon, April 29th, 3pm. Interested specifically in purchasing one of their advertised Sole Elliptical exercise machines. Received no help, found no one available on the sales floor - walked across the store from exercise equipment area all the way over to fishing supplies - nobody to be found. Went back to exercise equipment area and waited for another 5 minutes before heading back towards the front of store exit when I noticed 5 employees waiting around the checkout registers with one customer checking out (3:20pm at this point in case the store manager wants to verify the date and time). Went up to an associate and asked for help with their ellipticals - she politely took my name (the reason for 2 stars instead on 1!) and told me she'll send someone over to meet me with assistance. I returned to the ellipticals and waited another 10 minutes - nothing, nobody... walked out a half hour after entering the store, taking my $1,000+ purchase elsewhere. read more
