This is my first bad review and only bad review with regards to my wedding. We went there to get groomsmen suits for my wedding, and it was a nightmare from start to finish. It took a total of 2.5 hours for them to put the suits into their system, and even then, they managed to mess up. Not only did they waste our time, but they also managed to send the wrong ties to all of my groomsmen, leaving us scrambling to fix their mistake just one week before the wedding. Additionally, every employee's attitude is rude and dismissive. Thankfully, we decided to take our business elsewhere and went to the other Joseph Banks in Raleigh. There, we were met with care, respect, and professionalism. If you want decent service, I recommend driving the extra couple of miles to the other Joseph Banks. read more

Because I had such a lousy reception at the Glenwood store, I immediately knew that I was going to buy a lot. I bought two sport coats, two belts, and a pair of shoes. I stopped in last week and the place was bustling with activity. Mostly 25 to 50 year olds looking to spiff up their wardrobe. It's not a huge store like Men's Wearhouse but with enough inventory and choices to keep you happy! I was asked if I needed help a couple of times and it was done in a low-pressure way. Suits, slacks, sport coats and dress shirts everywhere, retail prices are a bit high but I'm sure Jos A Bank is always running some sort of sale. They're known as a lower-end Brooks Brothers and I'd have to agree! Cuts and fit on their jackets seemed to be a bit full and American as opposed to European. I ended up with a good deal on a merino wool coat so the fit wasn't super critical for me. I'm just glad I won't be freezing my butt off for the Nutcracker this week... Definitely a good option if you're looking for a mid-level suit or shirts and you've got some money to spend. The store staff is definitely not high-pressure so feel free to browse around. So yeah, we all gotta grow up some time. And Jos A Banks is a great spot for men who are all growed up and need some big boy clothes... read more

Unexpectedly needed to buy an entire suit outfit. Was helped by Mr. Cowan who was great. Had to limit my choices to items that didn't need alteration. They offer a custom suit for around $1,200 that looks like a real value. I will be back next time I'll considering a custom suit. read more

The process could not have been easier and I thoroughly advise those needing to get fitted for suits come here rather than The Mens Warehouse which I used many times before. About 2 years ago, I purchased a Signature suit and three pairs of Executive plain-front pants. The atmosphere of the store was very good and so was the service. Alas, the products have not passed the test of time. The wool is very nice, but the quality of the stitching leaves much to be desired. I'm not particularly hard on my pants -- I only wear them to work and church and take good care of them -- but the stitching on the pockets of the Executive pants is extremely cheap. They ripped on 2 of my pairs from normal use (my putting my hands on my pockets). I had them repaired once. It happened again to one of the pair, and it's now too expensive to put more money into them. I bought the pants on sale -- 3 pair for $165 -- and even at this discounted rate, it wasn't worth it. In addition, the Navy pair of pants I bought already are getting worn and shiny looking in spots, even though it's been only 2 years. I always take them to a solid dry cleaner. The Signature suit has held up better. My suggestion would be to wait for a good sale and go for the Signature line rather than the Executive line. I also have an Executive tie that is showing far more wear than it should after only one year of ownership. The Traveler tailored-fit shirts are good quality. read more

When I had to be a pallbearer on short notice and found myself without a suit that fit, I went to Jos A Bank in cameron village and explained my situation. The seamstress stayed late and got my suit done that night so that I could pick it up the next morning on my way to the funeral. It was a bad situation and they made it a lot less stressful. I have two sons getting married this year and both are using JAB. (One son required buying the suit and it's very nice and something I will definitely wear again.) The brides's father was in town from the OBX which is 3 hours away and wanted to get fitted at this store. He was told there was nobody there to fit him and he needed to come back the following week. (They don't have a location where he lives.) It was the weekend so I totally understand although I was at another location last weekend and they were able to fit me and take care of it. I was just at this location in Cameron Villiage to get fitted for my other son's wedding that is renting. I wanted to pay for my other two son's to get fitted to save them money. The guy that handled this was busy so I asked the lady if she could look up the reference number in order for me to pay for all three of us. She rudely said she could not. "It only has to be handled by the one person and he was obviously busy." Cool. I tried to explain I was at another location last week and they were able to look up my information for another wedding. She immediately got this horrible attitude with me and saying that was " not how it works!" I was actually embarrassed for her after I figured out she was not kidding. I asked what she did because other stores were able to access the reference number? She started yelling at me that she "helped customers!!!!" I calmly explained how another location a few miles away was able to assist me. She then started taunting me asking "what did you say?" over and over again. It was unbelievable. Once again-she embarrassed herself. (She had an accent like from Russia?) Anyway, she was very very bad. The worse case scenario for customer service to the point it could be a case study on how not to treat customers. Very embarrassing. Please look out for this lady if you absolutely have to go to this location. I wish i would have gotten her name butI just wanted to get out of the store. She was absolutely terrible!If i owned a company this is the last person i would want to represent me. There's no excuse for it. read more
