On a Sunday, went into Dick's Sporting Goods shopping for a volley ball sneaker. My personal preferences are Asics Upcourt, Gel-Rocket, Gel-Tactic and Netburner. They have many national brands but not my Asics. There are a few sales associates but for some strange reason, not too many at the Shoes. Little disappointed with my shoe shopping at Dick's. Did checked out their pickleball and golf section. Ok, You can hit a few balls with the drivers, irons, woods, etc. in the cage behind the putting green! You can not do that! Why? We walked into Dick's Sporting Goods this afternoon hoping for an experience like Jimmer C. described, but I'm pretty sure it wasn't Josh working today in the shoe department. My husband was looking for new cross training shoes and shoes have changed considerably since the last time he bought any. We looked around a while and was rather at a loss to find what we were looking for among the considerable selection in this store. Eventually, I did see an employee and after some effort (it took three times trying to get his attention) I let him know my husband was looking for cross training shoes. His answer was to walk to an aisle, make a hand gesture toward the shoes there and then the other side and then ... he walked away. We looked in the "indicated area" on our own for a bit but ultimately left emptyhanded. Overall, our experience wasn't quite as bad as what K.B. described in their review, but it wasn't much better. read more

Well, here it is the 4th and FedEx hasn't even picked up the package yet. If I had known this ahead of time I could have just driven to the store and bought the item the same day. I'm in the store currently in Fort Myers. I've been shoe shopping for weeks. Josh in the shoe department was super busy with a excessive amount of people. He still took his time with each person including myself and my wife! He was knowledgeable and absolutely amazing full of information! I was looking for a pair and he was so good I left with 4 new pairs and my wife with 3 new pairs. Josh is a absolute blessing to this establishment! What a disappointment. I'm so low down by this company these days. I formally used to work here in probably a decade ago in a different state. Are used to be a greeter as well as working upfront at the registers. So I know exactly about customer service and had to take care of somebody. Well this morning I came in around 10 AM after the store has been open for a little bit. I walked inside and didn't see a single employee, no greeting at all. This is my first time in this location as well so I had no idea where I was going. Luckily I was able to find the soccer section right away. But I wasn't sure if it was just an adult section or a youth section. After wandering around the soccer section for about 15 to 20 minutes, nobody ever came over to help me. I even looked around for somebody because I actually needed help. I needed to get. For two children who are starting their first time playing soccer. I needed everything. I had no clue what I was looking at it couldn't figure out if the smaller section was for children or just small sizes. I checked a few hours to see if there is an employee to help me, but I still never saw anybody. I put all of my items back and ended up just leaving. While I was leaving I saw two employees laughing and joking in the middle of the store. Even when I was exiting, no goodbye,, no nothing. My family will not be back, and we will not be supporting the store. read more

Do not work there, they are very very very unprofessional!!! I was hired and they would screw up my schedule every week and not give me very much hours. The team members kept going to the managers and telling them false complaints about me doing my job wrong and not doing my job at all which was completely not true! The week of Christmas I was told the district cut hours so I was told not to come in the rest of the week than I never got any hours after that and no phones call back after asking why I wasn't getting any hours and than noticed a couple weeks later I was no longer an employee. No phone call, no explanation! I have never worked in such an unprofessional place in my life! I will never forget about this tragic experience in my life! read more

Went to pickup some kayaks today, worst experience ever. I needed some straps to tie down the kayaks and the sales associate says, don't get the cheaper ones you have get these ratchet kind they are much better. I said I don't know how these work, he said it is very simple this goes here and ratchet tight. Wrong instructions things kept on getting twisted and knotted. 2 hours in front of the store in 90 degree + weather and no one lifts a finger to help even when you ask for it. called the store manager afterwards, his response " I know who is supposed to be in that department and will talk to him about customer service" no I am sorry for your inconvenience, what can we do to make it right, nothing like that. Great location for this store and adequate parking. As most Dick's they offer a WIDE variety of equipment, clothing and shoes for pretty much any sport. However, restocking must be a challenge at this location! I do send clients here for certain things (mostly stretchy rehab bands) and they ALWAYS seem to be out....how can this be? Management and/or the person who does their inventory control should keep better tabs on items that are constantly being purchased and/or run out. Please think about the demographics of where this store is located; most folks in this area are retired and/or we have athletes at multiple schools who would require these simple tools! read more

Came into the store today to purchase a new pair of cleats for our son. Employee Bob was anything but friendly and helpful towards an excited 10 year old boy. My wife did speak with management in hopes that Bob doesn't deal with children in the future. Moral of the story, Dick's employers shouldn't be Dicks! I like this company and the gentleman on the floor was helpful answering my questions. He was knowledgeable of the products and very patient. Unfortunately, this was more than offset by the check out personnel and process. Three cashiers and the line was barely moving. I was called up next and then stood helplessly as the person who called me ignored me for several minutes. No eye contact. No verbal interaction. No explanation for the delay. Didn't ask about my rewards card. Just an overall negative vibe that I have never felt at Dick's before. Customers want to feel appreciated. Went here to buy a rifle that was on sale. The associate behind the counter only had 2 days on the sales floor and had no clue about firearms. The manager was a teenager who snapped at the customers and gave attitude. The only one they had left was the demo/floor sample. It was covered in scratches and scuffs. I asked if I could get a discount on it due to the scratches and scuffs from all the handling it has had by customers. The teenage manager said no and that if I wanted it then I had to pay the same price as one that was mint in the box and new like others had gotten before me. I walked out, not paying for a damaged floor sample/demo rifle what others have paid for a brand new one in the box in the past. Bad customer service, I won't be visiting this place again. read more

I cut out a Dicks ad for vmc coastal black salt water fishing hooks from a current fishing magazine .The add states " buy two packs of vmc coastal black hooks and get two free ". I have contacted several stores in the Florida market and could find no salt water vms coastal black hooks. On to customer service with (2) phone calls and I am in the same place I started from,-nowhere!!! They could offer no reason why the hooks do not show up in their system . If you do not carry the vmc coastal black circle fishing hooks why advertise their availability? I have wasted my time trying to get this problem resolved to no avail.
