This is my first review on yelp. I came to Dick's Sporting Goods to get new hiking shoes. I walked around for 10 minutes and waited to be helped. I finally go and find an associate to help me. He brings me a pair of Merrells. There associates are not very helpful. So then I want to try on a second pair of shoes. I go back to the same associate and ask to try on a different shoe. Ten minutes go by and nothing. I look over and he is helping someone else. Didn't bother coming to find me or anything. I ask another associate, and she says he is with another customer, except when I asked him for the second shoes he was by himself and doing nothing. WTF. Well that's cool. I'll go to sports chalet. I love Dick's! Trevor in the shoe department provided A+++ customer service tonight. We left our house on a mission to buy some new running shoes and after a disappointing experience at a smaller store that advertises their custom shoe fitting we headed to Dick's. I had no idea that they will test arches and gait for a good fitting shoe. Trevor pointed out several great options after asking us a few questions and then let us try on a few pairs. He told us he was 18 and other than his appearance I would have had no idea because he was knowledgeable beyond his years. What a great kid, he is really an asset to that company. horrible,,,,,,,,,, this store is one of my favorites to walk through because it appears to have it all,,,,but every time i go in there for something for the past year or so i cannot believe how horrible the shoe department is......literally takes 4 ever to hunt down someone to help and they almost never have my sizes instock......because when people order they get pulled from that store. and shipped instead of a weary house......i took my bike tires in today to get new tires ....my womans doamond back basic mountain bike 4 years ago costed me around 400.00 as it's super basic...i told him i just needed basic tires because i would be riding with my daughter on sidewalks....... he pulled tires off the shelf and said he would just install them and they would bre ready to go ....he said it would be quick ....when i asked to first know what he choose and what the options and prices he only then told me the tires he was putting on were 40 $$a piece thats over 80$$$$for tires which is insane.....i asked a man on my way out who said thats price was ridiculous......he looked at my tires and told me i should only be paying 1/3that price .......to go to the bike shop on 67th ave and 101......which quoted me 16 per tire and 14 for 2 tubes and they would put them on free of charge and oil mychain and sprockets...thats thats 51$$$after tax plus the say lowes price in town but not unless you make them price match.....my sons shoes were 69.99 and only when i showed them on my phone that finishline had them for 49.99 did they adjust the price......not to mention i returned a pair of athletic pants after having them well over a month and used them many times because i thought the y were so cute ....but after a short while the began to get fuzzballs and along the seem a little whole.....90 days is there return on clothing ....so i returned them for quality issues......that store at arrowhead put them back out on rack to sell........wtf.......are u serious......im done dicks.......its to bad you guys are so horribly run i only put 1 star because i had to read more

Went there Sunday at about 1:15 pm to buy sandals and socks for my son. I finally went to the register to pay, Unfortunately the sandals did not have a price tag and the very rude cashier said " You have to bring me a pair with a tag" I went to get another pair but it did not have a tag either so I told the cashier that none of them had a tag so I went to take a picture of the price tag hanging on the wall and she got upset and said it did not match the sandal description. I asked her to go find the price and she rudely yelled at me and said she was not going to leave the register. I went again to look for a tag and finally I came back to a 6 person line in front of me. I asked her to ring me up and she said I took too long I had to get to the end of the line! Went here for shoes. Ethan was very knowledgable. Unfortunately the ghost 10 shoes didnt work out. I was gonna get the gts17 shoes but they didnt have color in stock. Return was easy but Susan, the girl at the register had poor customer service. I don't like that. She smiled, but it was clearly fake which was even more irritating. I can't stand fake people. I just had the worst curbside experience here. I placed an order and upon completion it said to check your email within ten minutes for confirmation. About an hour went by and still no email. I called the store and it took about five minutes of ringing before an extremely rude gentle answered "DICKS SPORTING GOODS?!" I said "Hi, I placed an order for curbside about an hour ago but I still haven't gotten an email so I just wanted to make sure you guys had it." To which he responded "we just got like five orders dude there's no way for me to tell." I said "oh how long does it normally take for it to be ready?Like a few hours or should I count on tomorrow" To which he again replied "there's no way to know." Today I decided to get some new shoes. The overall service was excellent. The employees did a great job of noticing when I wanted their attention, even when I did not directly ask. I found a pair I really liked but I found that part of the shoelace prodded my foot. The employee (whose name I asked before I left), named Ashley, offered and then spent the time to take out the shoelaces and re-put then in, in a way that fixed my problem. All of this was done with a good attitude and a clear attempt at being quick. Appreciated the service, that's why I got this app, to give my appreciation for the good service. read more

When I lived in Olympia, WA, I always got horrible customer service at the Dick's there. Employees just didn't care about putting effort into helping. I moved to AZ and hoped the Arrowhead Mall Dick's would be different...nope. The shoe department doesn't offer throw away foot coverings for trying on shoes, so we try them on anyway (not very sanitary). I went to the checkout line on the first floor, 7 of us in line and more coming. Only one checker, on a Sunday when families are out shopping. Finally, when there was about 15 patrons in line an employee came up and said there was a shorter line upstairs. All of the people behind me, about 8-9, explained they had been upstairs and there was no employee at the check out counter. We were told "there is now". Are you kidding me?!! Terrible customer service. At that point a manager should have instructed someone to open another checkout line downstairs, where everyone was waiting. Poor training, poor customer service, poor management...guess where that comes from...up top. Executives need a lesson in treating customers better. read more

I came in for a soccer setup for my daughter. They had the set, and at a decent price... $35. Then we needed socks... They had a small rack of socks next to the soccer stuff that was pretty picked through. I didn't find my daughters size so I approached the register. I asked the young lady if there were any other soccer socks in the building, and she says no. I said "can you just check?" She's says there aren't any. I ask again, "can you just run the number for the pair I need?" Again she says, there aren't any and wouldn't look. Unable to comprehend that a store this large has just 13 Pairs of socks in stock, I walk around to check for myself... I walk 100 feet past the soccer section into the shoe section, and bam... There are literally hundreds of different youth socks, and in any color under the rainbow. Are you telling me this girl didn't know this?? I had to find them on my own. Where the h&@l is any customer service anymore? Ugh. I grab the pair I need and walk up and tell her I found a bunch... And she just shrugs it off like we didn't just have this conversation. I was looking for a pair of gym shorts. The pair I found were in a rack clearly labeled as discount or clearance and it announced a specific price. When I took them to the checkout counter, the price rung up was much higher than the sign indicated. When I pointed this out to the cashier, she politely closed her station and walked with me to the rack. She pointed out that the pair I was wanting to purchase had a unique label which meant they did not qualify as discount or clearance. When I asked how a customer is supposed to know if they qualify for the special pricing even when they are displayed in a discount rack, she indicated that the customer needs to know their labeling system. The pair I wanted were not placed there in error as there were numerous other similar items with the same label which also did not qualify for the discount. Except for her courteous and excellent effort, I would have to give this transaction a 1 star rating, perhaps lower. It seemed like the notorious "bait and switch" tactic or simpler shoddy, expedient oversight. read more

Came in looking for some inexpensive cleats to play competitive softball in. They tend to get destroyed rather quickly. I was helped by a gentleman who did a decent job helping me out. After explaining what I was looking for he directed me to a pair of 50 dollar cleats. They were actually perfect for my purposes! When I had agreed to purchase them I was THEN informed that THEY made a pricing mistake and the cleats were actually 115 dollars!? The young man then states that is their fault and will absolutely honor the pricing as in their policy. He calls the manager woman over (blonde older woman)to adjust the price for check out. She then goes on about how the tag isn't for that shoe, ect. Then goes on to DENY their policy of matching the price of their mistake saying she would give me 10 percent of "or whatever"... She treated me with such disdain and contempt that I was immediately offended and left. I have always gone to Dick's for my sporting goods despite their horrible service. i gave it three chances. i didnt think i would have to give a department store like this a bad review, and it comes down to customer service. everytime i came here it was with the intention of buying athletic shoes. and all three times, i found exactly the shoe i wanted, but could never find anyone to get it for me. there were plenty of sales associates around and i asked them for help but the line was always the same "let me find someone in the shoe department." Even after their attempts at finding someone in the shoe department, they were at a loss. now i would think they are employees and they are just walking around talking to each other so they would be able to go get a shoe, but no, they had to have someone in the shoe department. So each time i went, after waiting extended periods of time, i left without the shoes. I now realize that this is a great place to locate a shoe i want and wander into the rest of the mall, as there are always other shoe stores and always sales. It seems that the trending issue with Dick's is the customer service. I'm attempting to be fair in this review this is why I'll give Dick's three stars. I recently purchased three items from Dick's. The first item was a tailgating folding table that comes with a carrying case. I received the item in mail and the case was torn. I kept the item, instead of returning it, to save on the hassle. The second item was a youth football helmet that was on sale. I went to the store and they did not have my son's size, so I ordered it online. I'm still awaiting the delivery. No big deal, I'm sure it's a hot item d/t football season arriving. The worker did an excellent job at assisting me, however I had a difficult time obtaining help. I found a person who called him over. He explained to me that he's the only person working the department. I'm not sure why they have just one person, when it's located inside a busy mall? There are 10 other workers walking around doing minimum. Again, I received excellent service from the worker once he finally arrived. Unfortunatey, there were two other customers waiting for his attention. The third item I ordered were youth football cleats. I found the cleats I wanted and ordered them. Dick's pulled a "bait n switch." This is what led me to write this review. I received my order and they were not the cleats I ordered. I called customer service and I was told that there was a system change on the item number right after I placed my order. I highly doubt that was the issue. I'm sure they were out of the product and sent a similar item instead. It would have been better customer service if I was informed that the item was out of stock. They are now out of stock of the cleats I ordered. The cleats ordered were grey/red. The ones received were silver/orange. Nice cleats, however they do not match my son's game uniform. I'm sending the cleats back b/c all the other cleats are 3 xs more expensive. Unfortunately, I have to move on from Dick's. read more
