I popped in here this past Thursday in search of a specific pair of shoes that were in stock according to the company website. I was hoping to just order on the website and pick up in store, but I was having technical difficulties and decided to just go in. The store was pretty busy when I arrived, so I was not acknowledged upon entering, which was honestly fine as I had the opportunity to slip out if they didn't have the shoe in question. It seemed like they did, so I got in line to request it be brought out to me. They had my size and preferred color, so I got in line again to pay. Despite being pleasant otherwise, I was quite bothered by how pushy the cashier was in trying to upsell me some weatherproofing spray. "No" should mean no and not need repeating three times. read more

remember what i said in my prior review about this location not being super crowded? i'm pretty sure i jinxed myself by saying that because when i shopped here yesterday, it was packed to the brim! unsurprisingly, it was on a saturday afternoon and that's when mall attendance is usually at its peak. i was able to find a pair of doc marten sandals since the heat is going to be hot on our tails soon (literally) in my exact size, so that's a plus! one of the employees even picked out some pairs of socks for me, and i love how thoughtful and generous the gesture was. when it's less crowded, i'll definitely stop by again! read more

I would give a zero star if I could. I went to return some shoes and the "manager" was very rude. Don't shop at this store.

Stopped by to potentially buy some shoes. Although the black girl who helped didn't seem to care. We asked her for our sizes then she came over and threw the boxes on the ground. She proceeded to stop by multiple times and threw these socks she was trying to sell us right in front of me on the ground. It was annoying and was extremely pushy to buy shoes. She also gave me other shoes to try on that weren't in my size and wasnt anything I was interested in. Maybe she doesn't make much sales and is trying but this isn't the way to do it. She made it very obvious she was trying to up sell and it pushed me away and it was evident, the same thing happened to the couple she was helping before us and they walked out. don't think this is the job for her. read more

I went in to make a return on shoes I no longer wanted. The cashier had a nasty attitude and threw the shoe boxes on the ground. She even refused her associate to grab a drink of water. So rude for no reason read more

We stopped in to the store to see what size Chucks my daughter wears before buying them online from the Converse website. We told the associate our reason for coming in and even though he knew we planned on buying elsewhere, he was incredibly helpful with the styles and sizes. He wasn't trying to make a sale at all. My daughter tried on a couple pairs and she liked them so much, we ended up buying a pair on the spot. We really appreciated his help and the fact that he gave us some space to try on and consider our purchase. He didn't hover or try to upsell (he mentioned socks but it was more of a casual conversation rather than a sales-y pitch). Wish I got his name so we can go back to get his help sometime. From the moment I walked in the busy store staff greeted and offered to assist. They showed me to the brown converse I was seeking. A nice gal helped me add grey crocks to my list I believe her name may have been Jaylen or Jayden. She was very helpful. I had additional questions about shoe cleaner and Daniel stepped in to show me options. He was very knowledgeable. While waiting in line another employee chatted about his eagles while I praised my buffalo bills. I anticipated today's last minute stop to be busy with minimal smiles and chit chat. This stop into to journeys was the opposite. You made the crazy shopping day nice and even fun! Great customer service from your staff on what was a very busy day. I am still in awe how many smiles and how much fun they all were having at their jobs today the last Saturday before Christmas. The value for the brown converse and gray crocs seemed very reasonable to me as well. Job well done! read more

When the shoes for which I was looking weren't available at the Christown Journeys, the staff there located a pair at Arrowhead. When I arrived, I found the shoes I wanted but realized they wouldn't work with the outfit I'd picked out. Fortunately, there was another pair of Doc Martins available for an incredibly low-low price. The associate initially was looking at other locations to see if she could find my exact size (the remaining floor model ended up being only a little too big), but I insisted on getting the shoes there. She gave me a discount because the shoes were floor models, plus I had a coupon for $5 off. Color me crazy for walking out with a new pair of Docs for under $15. Werd. read more

Awful customer service. I came up to the counter with a pair of shoes to exchange and both girls were lacing shoes, looked very annoyed that was bothering them and after an awkward silence one finally said "hi" without eye contact and an attitude. One of the girls was very vocal and made it obvious that they didn't have the pair of shoes I was looking for. However she approached this with "nope. No. No we don't have those" and walking away. The whole experience has made me want to never return to this store which is unfortunate because I love it normally. read more

The manager is very helpful and friendly. I went in to get some specific shoes and he helped me the entire time, and took the time to explain a few things about the company who made the shoes (Toms). He made my visit personal, and now I'd love to buy my shoes from there. A second time I went in, the staff member (not the manager) was just sorta ok... no where near as nice as the manager. Be careful. This place sells used shoes. Unbelievable. I went in to get my little sister shoes for school. The lady brought out a pair that were scuffed on the sides and the front had a chunk missing from it. So I told the lady if they had another pair. She brought out another pair which were in better shape. You could tell they had been used as well though because there was a heel print Inside both shoes. I am so please with the level of customer assistance I received at Journeys #917. A huge shout out to ZOE, who assisted me and my little girl with sizing and fitting of a pair of white low cut Converse shoes. Zoe went the extra mile to recommend socks which were cheaper and more durable than name brand socks. Zoe did not pressure for sales, she did however suggest we "check out the in store sale items." How many 17 year old girls does it take to NOT work at a store? I came here to do a return. I walked through the door where there was a group of about 5 female employees just standing there chatting away. Nobody said "hello" actually nobody said anything. So I asked one of them if she worked there because I had a return to do. She took me to the register and said that she did not know how to do a return for an online purchase so she found me a manager. Fair enough. But maybe she should have stayed at the register to learn how it all works. Now on to the manager. He was willing to help me because that's his job. My situation was odd as I had not received a packing slip with my online order nor had I received a receipt of any sort. All I had was the shoes, a tag inside stating which store shipped it, and the order number I had been given to track my purchase in the mail. He treated me like I was stupid for not having the correct papers, which was not my fault. He kept trying to get me to return the shoes for credit or an exchange for something else. He then suggested I call the customer service line. He should have offered to call, seeing as that it is his job, ya know help the customer and make them happy. So I asked him to make the call. I sat in one of the chairs and he was working on the call, he kept giving me dirty looks from the register which was totally uncalled for (sorry that your job isn't always a breeze buddy). Eventually we got it all worked out and I got my money back. I work retail also and there are just certain rules and standards to live by when dealing with customers. The goal is to work with them and make them happy so they return. I vow never to be back here again. Oh and as I left, the gaggle of girls were still at the front.
